Don’t pass them by, we were talking to Golden Boy Mobility in Poway told them of our accident and they referred us to Fix Auto just down the street. They are not in buisness together, just know they do an outstanding job.
We went by and talked to Ryan L. this man pays attention to detail, extremely honest, doesn’t mind spending time to address your concerns and questions. Unlike a lot of different places we’ve been to.
First impressions are the most important and it’s obvious he is an asset.

I would give this auto body shop a zero if it were available. I took my damaged car to them at the recommendation of my AAA insurance company, 11÷6÷15. They gave me an estimate after a suspected garbage truck bumped into my rear end /​trunk pushing my passenger side into the high curb damaging the underside by the passenger door.
My insurance company called and asked if Fix Auto could take pictures since my insurance is in N. California and they get better pictures from the auto shop than independent adjusters. I called Fix Auto Poway and my adjuster was not available, so I talked with the supervisor who told me to bring it in. I took it in and Robert took pictures and I provided him the AAA insurance adjuster number, email, and fax. He told me he would email them the same day.
After waiting several weeks, I called AAA for repair authorization, and they had not received the pictures so I called Fix Auto Poway and left a message with Robert and the supervisor. I did not get a call back.
Since then, I received several calls from AAA and they called Fix Auto Poway several times. It is now January, and neither AAA or I have been able to get a return phone call. When I called Fixed Auto today 1÷15÷2016, I was told they threw the pictures away. I talked with the supervisor and got about the same «lack of ownership» response. They take no ownership because they said they were taking the photos as a courtesy.
I have worked with my insurance company for 46 years. When my prior car was damaged twice and had the repairs done at 2 different auto shops in San Diego County I never had a problem. I personally cannot recommend Fix Auto Poway and would not take my car there after the response I received trying to get the issue resolved.

Fender was not mounted after further inspection. Please take your time after inspecting the car before leaving the facility after they claim your car is done. Fortunately enough the fender isn’t falling off. Yours might!

horrible business!!! their representativ’es mistake in giving wrong information cost me a new year’s weekend plan!!! And after addressing this with the managers, they wont do anything, and i mentioned they deserve a bad revirew they just told me «you’re not even our customer!!!» … is that even a proper way to treat someone who walks into a business for service!!!
I called their shop on a wednesday and their representative told me that i can drop off my car next day since an estimate has already been done to my car weeks ago. i dropped off my car on a thursday and only then that they told me they wont repair it until monday, therefore i wont get a rental car that is covered by the insurance until monday. this ruined my weekend plan where hotels are already booked. they wont compensate for their employee’s mistake… and the managers were so rude and so as the staffs. make sure they explain eeevveeerrryyyything when dealing with this people… and call the 1800 # instead of their direct office number so all calls are recorded, otherwise they will deny you had that conversation with their representative… better yet don’t come here!!! and reading other horror reviews here… i wont take the risk having them «fix» my car… who knows what they will ruin just to get back at me!!! thanks for ruining my new year with canceled trip that left me with unnecessary expenses!!! bad business!!!

This place was awesome! We had a slew of work done on our 2002 Saturn and the work completed was done in a very timely manner!

The neighbor backed his car into my parked car, baseball sized dent in the rear bumper as a result. Neighbor gave us all his insurance information through USAA.
USAA sent us here to have the bumper repaired here. This was all great! Fixed in a reasonable time and looked great.
Unfortunately, several months later the rear bumper developed a gap between the rear quarter panel and the rear. Some retaining tabs had broken causing the bumper to popout from the panel, causing a visible gap.
I took it back have them look at it. They indicated (paraphrasing here), «There’s no way this happened without an impact, it’s not covered by our warranty» while a few feet back from the rear of the car… their only claim as to evidence of this is a cosmetic bumper scratch, which came after the bumper/​panel started separating.
On pressing, the rep agreed to take it back and have the tech look at it. They indicated they find a plastic retaining piece (paraphrasing again) «Just hanging there» and cited that as further evidence of an impact. Was the retainer replaced on install? Was it damaged during the original incident? Was it installed correctly? Might the failure in the install/​part cause undue stress on other mounting points that caused the plastic tabs to fail over time? None of this was elaborated on, «It’s impact damage, we won’t cover it.»
It seems odd that the area where the quarter panel and bumper started to separate is EXACTLY where the accident impacted. Nonetheless, the rep made the determination that it WAS in fact impact BEFORE the tech looked at it.
I’m now having to go back to USAA to get them to fix the problem. I’ll either reach a satisfactory solution through this avenue or it’ll be to small claims.
Bottom line. Their warranty is worthless. They look for excuses to deny a claim on parts/​workmanship without putting the due in diligence first.

Great service, and a pleasure to work with. I called the Poway Honda, to find out who did their body work as I knew Honda does not do body work. I made my appointment and arrived on time. They were waiting for me and the service rep walked out to my car looked at the problem and asked if I had 30 minutes he would fix it right now. Wow, yes I said and he said have a seat in their lobby (the lobby was clean and comfortable and they had free wifi also), but there is more. A few minutes later he came into the lobby with a part, he offered to order a new one or just fix the one he had, I said just fix that one. A few minutes latter her returned with the keys and said it was all ready. When I asked what it would cost, I was informed it was no charge.
That’s right they fixed my car and did not charge me for anything and it’s was done with a smile.
It’s service like that that calls for a review of excellence. I would have been happy to pay what ever the bill would have been but to also delighted for the quick fix, and the great service.

This shop was recommended by my insurance, Geico. My insurance adjuster made me feel very confident about the repair they were going to do by telling me «Lifetime Guarantee» on the repairs and it will look like it never happened. I told him «I will remember you said that» since I am a very detail oriented person that notices everything! He said they were going to replace the front fender and «repair» the door. I expressed my concern over repairing the door since the damage was pretty bad. He said it will look like it never happened.
So I go to pick up my car that I have only made 1 payment on so all of this was pretty hard to deal with after hitting a bed frame on the freeway. Sorry… When I picked up my car I noticed a couple of little things and the owner of the shop said take your time and if you find anything wrong bring it back and will fix it. Sounds good doesn’t it? Well my philosophy is, if you fix it right the first time you shouldn’t have to worry about that. I noticed the shape of the door was wrong, the fender was not lining up correctly and the front grill was falling off. These were just the major things. I don’t understand who is checking these things? They were pretty obvious!
I take it back and speak to Susan the manager and she comes out to look at the car and says, «well you can’t expect everything to be perfect». WHAT! These problems have nothing to do with perfection. I could already tell this was not going to end well. I left the car and called the Geico supervisor and he assured me they WILL fix everything. Susan called me and said she received a phone call from the supervisor from Geico. She also said «we are going to fix everything». 1 day later Susan calls me to come in and look at a new door that arrived. So I drive all the way down to Poway and she shows me the new door they received. It had some minor imperfections. She still insisted they could fix the door. I told her to order another door just in case they can’t repair it. I gave them the benefit. So Susan calls me the next day to come look at the door again, so I drive down there and the door looks terrible. These guys are ridiculous, they couldn’t see an elephant in their own house! They still hadn’t ordered the door. I told her if you had ordered the door like I said you would have a backup. Now I have to wait longer. Here’s the best part… They still haven’t started working on the other problems!
A week later I get a phone call from Susan saying my car is ready. So I go look at it, the fender looks better, they fixed the grill but the new door doesn’t line up correctly. At this point I am done with these guys and I take my car. I needed to leave since my Brother-​in-​law passed away, so it wasn’t the best time. My sister get’s in my car and notices the door won’t open correctly! UNBELEIVABLE!!!
I drive back from Bakersfield and notice the next day the bottom of the door where there is supposed to be trim is gone! It must have fell off on the way home from my sister’s. I couldn’t make this up if I tried!
I am now in the process of contacting Geico to take my car to another shop.

I’ve been here twice and couldn’t be happier. I was initially referred here by a friend when I was looking to sell my 10 year old car, I had some minor dings that needed fixing. The first thing I noticed was how impressive of a facility this is. I’m not sure how many auto body shops people have seen before, but I’m used to the grimy little shop with a couple of bays. This place is the opposite, it’s quite large and always clean. Everyone I met with was extremely helpful and made me comfortable leaving my car there. When I picked up my car, it looked brand new again, I was shocked. Definitely made it easier to sell.
The second visit was not long after owning my new car, someone rear ended me on the highway and smashed my back end. The other driver’s insurance company asked me if I had a preferred body shop, so I went with Chrome Collision (now called Fix Auto). Everything was handled between the insurance company and the people at Fix Auto, so I didn’t have to do anything. I have to admit, I was worried my car wouldn’t feel new again after getting hit at about 30mph, but that concern went away the minute after getting it back. I’m very happy with the work they do here, even the owner took time to talk to me and set my mind at ease. Great shop!

Was recommended to Fix Auto Poway (previously Chrome Collision) by my insurance company, USAA. Brought it in for a quick assessment and was told the part would be there in a few days. Took my car back, and got a call 2 days later saying the part had arrived. The staff was very helpful and accommodating in my schedule. Dropped it off for repairs (bumper replacement), expecting the 3 day turnaround. That evening, received a call saying my car was ready. Picked it up the next morning, looking great and freshly cleaned. Great service, great staff.

GREAT Customer Service ! This place is Top Rate! Clean, Friendly, and Fast ! I brought my Honda Fit into the shop for some front end repairs and they were done QUICKLY, and at LOW cost ! Not to mention the job was done in Quality fashion.
The Service Writer, Victor, was professional and a pleasure to work with. I was referred to them from Poway Honda. They apparently send their customers there for body work. I am very satisfied. Needless to say, if I ever have any other issues with ANY of my cars, or future cars, I will be going to Chrome Collision! Their AWESOME!

Very happy with their work and service. It took a while to repair my car but at the end it didn’t matter. The car was almost totaled but they managed to fix it. I got many compliments for how good it looks. Thanks Justin and Gary, you guys are awesome!

I’ve never had more of a smoother transition and a company that valued me so much as a customer. Chrome Collision updated me on the status of my car and kept me in the loop as far as when the repairs would be finished. Victor, the estimator got back to me in a timely manner when I had a few questions regarding my car and the front desk receptionist who helped me with the process in the beginning who was more than accommodating. I appreciate the professionalism and how easy the process was in order to fix my car. Will reccommend for any auto body damages that any of my colleagues might have. I contacted Unilocal because this review was not being displayed on their site, which makes me wonder if other reviews are not being displayed.
The original-​estimated-​time frame was 3 days but my car was at Chrome Collision in Poway, CA for 28 days to repaint one door, rear fender, blend with front fender, and both bumpers.
I received a call after a week informing me that the car would be delayed because someone forgot to paint reflectors on the front bumper.
I received a call a few days later informing me of another delay because they found a run in the paint.
I received a call on the third week informing me that they found a blemish on the door that needed to be corrected. I completely understood the delays and told the estimator to take as long as he needed to correct the issues.
I was supposed to pick up the car on day 24 but I told them that I would pick it up the following day which would give them an extra day to clean the car. (I did not want it detailed but I wanted it as clean as it was when it arrived).
I arrived on the 25^th day to pick up the car and noticed a run on the front bumper and possibly overspray on the rear bumper. They offered to repair the bumper, remove the overspray, and pay for a rental car the following week. I also noticed thick dust on the entire interior of the car, feet prints on the speaker in the driver’s door, smudges on the inner-​door panel, and abrasions on the new paint that appeared to be from an edge of a buffer, and two places where paint lifted (peeled) on the fender.
I took the car back the following week and Chrome paid for the rental car but I paid $ 35 for auto insurance. I picked up the car 3 days later which was a total of 28 days. They fixed the abrasion on the door, run on the bumper, lifted paint in two spots, and removed the roughness or overspray from the bumper and mirrors.
I was informed that the lifted paint was repaired by repainting the fender but the marker light that is 6 – 8 inches from the repair fell out because it was melted. I know that the light was melted at Chrome because I installed it 2 days prior to delivering the car. I bought a new light online for $ 23.97.
Some of the staff were exceptional and I feel like others were not truthful (It’s my opinion). I appreciate the estimator having the shop repaint /​paint parts but I wish they would have implemented a different process, so I would not have waited 28 days to have a finished product.
The paint looks good and they are willing to correct their mistakes but I will not recommend Chrome Collision because of the condition I received my car on day 25 especially since they had an extra day look over the car. Unfortunately the estimator was not there on day 25 when I picked up the car the first time because I might have gotten the car in better condition or it might have been held until it met his standards.
Updated: I noticed a gap where the bumper attaches to the inner fender. So I touched it and a screw fell out. The paint on the door, rear fender, and rear bumper look good but there is a rough edge on the front bumper.
Updated: I continue to find more surprises as I do maintenance on my car. I paid Chrome Collision to remove, repair, and paint the bumper, and there are staples and un-​sanded welds or epoxy on the bottom of the bumper. The manager assured me that the bumper was removed after I mentioned seeing silver paint on black mesh behind the bumper. Therefore, I’m not sure why the staples were not installed /​hidden on the inside of the bumper while it was off the car. Please see the image.
Updated: The paint on the front fender lifted again after three months.
Updated: I contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair who worked with the owner of Chrome Collision (now Fix Auto Poway) who apologized and resolved the issues.

To start off my story my car had major scratches on the side from someone who was parking their car and hit me. I filed a claim with their insurance company and their insurer told me the work would be done here. I took my vehicle in and had an appointment. The office staff are incredibly nice and the adjuster was on site which made it very convenient. Work was done very quickly and the rental car company was there as well. Overall they did a ¹⁰⁄₁₀ job. Great place and very hospitable. I would take my car back again!

Amazing experience!
We took our car here on a recommendation from our insurance company and are we glad we did! We were kept informed and had the best customer service with such courtesy and professionalism.

Recommended by my insurance company, Mercury, after some fender/​bumper damage.
Pros:
— Very friendly and accommodating service
— Our service representative was easily accessible via telephone whenever we had an issue/​question/​concern (if you have different daytime/​evening numbers, be sure to clearly specify which number they should contact you at to avoid the phone tagging that we often experienced)
— Clean facility, timely return of my vehicle (picked at the end of the 6^th business day)
— Quick quoting/​estimate process with a detailed and complete printout
— Flexible scheduling (we had to wait about a month before dropping off the vehicle for personal reasons and there was no issue with that)
— Upon request, they went around and put some touch up paint on a few spots (except the hood)
— I had dropped the car off, aware that one HID headlight was burnt out. They went ahead and replaced both headlights with regular halogens. (see cons section for concerns) However, they left both ballasts in place. They did offer to install the new HID set that I had bought on my own for free during pickup, but I refused the service.
— Washed and vacuumed my vehicle before I picked it up

Cons:
— I was aware that one of my HID headlights were out upon dropping my car off, but they had stated that the other headlight also went out, which was news to me since it had been functioning the entire week prior. I believe they went ahead and replaced BOTH headlights with halogens, and then proceeded to contact us about doing so. Luckily, I had already purchased a new and complete HID set to replace my existing ones, however if I had only purchased a single new HID bulb to replace the one that went out on me to find that they replaced my working (at the time of drop off) HID with halogens as well, then I would’ve had an issue. Because this was not the case though, it didn’t matter. They had good intentions in doing what they did and now I have an additional set of halogens, but I can see how this bit of miscommunication could have resulted otherwise.
— One of the windows was non-​functioning (window lock wasn’t on), but this wasn’t realized until the day after pickup. We came by with the car again, they took a look at it, resolved the issue, and we left within 15 minutes. It was a hassle to have to drive back and deal with this tiny issue, but I’m happy it was resolved quickly and they were still very friendly even at last minute’s notice.

On recommendation by an insurance company, I selected CHROME Collision to review the rear-​end damage on my vehicle. The company representative did a sight inspection and then the general manager took over and showed me part of the internal damage. I told the GM that I would like a second inspection. The GM said that there was substantial damage to the rear and the latch of the hatchback would not latch and that he should declare my vehicle was considered damaged and that he could declare it not drivable. This tactic is not acceptable.
I had my doubts selecting CHROME because I was not fond of the scare tactics used by the GM, but I decided to go with CHROME since I was headed out of town and was told that it would take 7 days. After I signed the papers, the GM said that an auto detailing would be added to my car as a courtesy service for choosing CHROME.
After 10 days without a call, I called CHROME to check on the status of my vehicle. The GM told me that there were a few more items that CHROME was waiting on but the car would be ready by Friday. On late Friday, the GM returned my call at 5:15 p.m. and told me that my car was ready, they lost an employee so the detailing had not been done, but that I could pick up my car without the detailing.
I looked up the hours for Enterprise and they close at 6:00 p.m. I did not have time to drop off the rental car and drive to CHROME. I called the GM and told him that I really wanted my car but he promised me the auto detailing. He was rude and said that the detailing costs $ 250 and he did promise it but it would not be done until Monday. He made it sound like he was doing me a favor and kept saying that he was down an employee. I was upset and told him to keep my car and that I did not want to hear any more excuses as to why my car was not finished. Again, the GM told me I could take my car back now. I told him that this was a blatant disregard of what he promised and that I felt he no longer wanted to give me the service that he offered which I think is bad customer service.
On Monday, I was given my car as promised, but after bringing it home had discovered a hazard light came on. I called CHROME, and the GM said that I could bring the car back but that the light was not there when I picked up the car. I’ve been told before to pull over and stop driving the car with the hazard light on so I told him that when I dropped off the car in the beginning and the hazard was not on, but on the very same day that I pick up the car the light comes on so it has to do with the collision.
The GM tried to make another excuse, but I was adamant that I would not be driving my car to CHROME. He finally agreed that he would pick up my car and have another rental delivered within 30 minutes. An hour and a half later the GM shows up and proceeds to show me that my car was driveable by doing a circle around my cul-​de-​sac. I again told the GM that I have been told previously to stop driving and pull over when the triangle with an exclamation hazard light comes on. The GM then got out of the car to show me a printed photo of the dash that was taken during the service.
All I wanted was for the GM was to take my car and say that he would check on the problem. Instead he decides to make sure that I felt uncomfortable because I called him about a problem that was not there prior to me taking my car the CHROME.
The following day, the GM calls to tell me that the fan for the battery wasn’t working. Which, I believe, was caused by the collision. He would need to keep it for another couple of days. I told him that I don’t want to hear any more excuses, I just want my car fixed. He then proceed to yell at me and tell me that he didn’t want to hear me complain about him making excuse and I wasn’t to tell him that anymore.
At this point all communication broke down and I told him just to fix my car. Moments later, I called CHROME and told the receptionist that I no longer felt comfortable working with the GM and wanted to speak to the owner. I received a call from the owner who took over from that point.
The only saving graces and the only reasons why CHROME Collision was given two starts were the people who worked with me prior to the GM taking over and the owner who managed to salvage a poor situation. I have never been treated so poorly by a general manager of an auto body shop. I signed over nearly $ 8000 and was maltreated and given excuse after excuse.

This the best body shop I ever dealt with in last 15 years. I used to work on software which deals with cars parts, repairs and body work so I exactly understand what they are talking about. They gave us a tour of their facility and they have state of art repair facility for repairing car damage and all the body work. They are very detailed oriented, very honest on both time and effort. They have very well defined process for dropping and picking up in short amount of time.
I took both of my cars to repair one was accident, The Honda Odyssey front bumper headlight and side quarter panel got damaged and they repaired it and restored to brand new condition. They replaced all of the damaged parts with original Honda parts. I worked both with Greg and Gary and they were very thorough, detailed about the repairs, expectations and they are great to work with.
