Stopped by to see what they had before walking into the range. Was VERY impressed at their selection, service and knowledge. Daniel was very helpful and not your typical gun counter salesbot. I ended up buying a lower and a wrench. Then I went into the range and made some noise. Since I use the range often, I will be using them for purchases as well.

You want a no B.S. gun store that gets you what you are after at competitive prices this is it. They can get you exactly what you are after and I have never felt that they are trying to up-​sell me on anything. Employees are extremely friendly, unassuming and really seem to take the time to listen to the customer and their needs.

I’ve been going to DAS for all my firearms needs since it’s been open. Great staff, service, and selection. Everyone there is super chill and very knowledgeable. They’re also very accommodating and will try to get you anything they don’t have in store. Prices there tend to be better than most other places in San Diego as well.

Best Gun Store in SD. They have all the best parts and all the best components, even the hard-​to-​find stuff. Service is outstanding and the staff is very knowledgable. Prices are one of the best in town.

What insight can I possibly leave that all the other 5 star reviews haven’t already said. Nic and Taylor have a great understanding of the importance of customer service skills. They have the type of customer service skills that rival 5 star hotels and restaurants, let alone other gunshops.
I was in the shop today and there was a younger guy buying his first handgun. After they finished the transaction the young man thanked Nic for teaching him about the gun (embarrassing to say but I was eavesdropping when Nic was going over proper handling, safety features, and operations of the handgun). Nic’s response was «No worries, we’ve all been on that side of the counter.» This is the type service that encourages a passion in firearms.
DAS has a nice selection handguns, rifles, and accessories. If they don’t display it, they’ll be able to track it down for you. I don’t do business with any other gunshops. these guys have earned my loyalty. No doubt in my mind this is the best gun shop in Southern California.

I think everyone pretty much knows that it in order to work at a gun shop or shooting range you must a total a-​hole. Many of us have just come to accept and deal with that fact… That is… Until you start shopping at DAS. I have been shopping here for a few years now. I don’t live anywhere close to this shop, and have driven as far as 3+ hours round trip to shop here over the past years. I have a local shop by me that does SSE but the owner is a complete moron and a hole. Even after I proved him wrong… he was still right… Yeah. Good luck buddy… okay. Enough about my loser local shop…
DAS has had some staff in the past that weren’t exactly mr personality… But never a holes. The front side of the shop is now ran by Nic and Taylor. They (DAS) have basically narrowed it down to the two best employees that shop, and every shop in so cal, could possibly have. These two guys not only know their stuff… But they are actually a pleasure to work with. Before finding DAS I found myself getting in and out of ranges and shops ASAP. When I go to DAS I find myself hanging around, asking questions, checking out what’s on the shelves, etc. these guys are happy to take any questions and never make you feel like a d bag for not knowing something that might be common knowledge to most.
It’s rare to find a shop like this, with staff that not only actually know firearms, but has staff you wouldn’t mind throwing back a couple of beers with.
Understand that if you call when they have a lobby full of people you likely won’t get an hour on the phone to ask a million questions… They have people in front of them starting DROS, picking up, etc. be patient and call back… Or if you are close… Just go in and check it out. One last SSE for this year! CZ75B Matte! Even after SSE goes away I will still shop here simply for the customer service and the way they have taken care of me over the past few years.

Came into this store as a total newbie. I’ve had and fired guns before but that was quite a few years ago shooting with my father. I’m pretty much starting from scratch.
The salesperson was excellent — was willing to spend as much time as was needed to go over the different types of firearms as well as the steps needed to purchase. He was enthusiastic without being «Salesman-​ish». All of this was very important in making me feel comfortable buying my first firearm.
There were other people in the store and while he didn’t stop helping me at all, he was sure to acknowledge the other customers and let them know he’d be with them soon.
Within a few minutes, I had completed the required tests, filled out the needed paperwork and put down a deposit on a new firearm. I normally do a quick search on prices, but to be honest, I was happy enough with the customer service, positive and friendly attitude, that I don’t really need to know if their prices are bargain basement or not.
I purchased a pistol and will soon be purchasing a rifle from this location as well. Really, really happy with DAS.

Awesome customer service whether you’re buying, browsing or asking questions. I had an FFL for 25 years, been collecting /​dealing for 35 years, so I’m not some FNG. I usually deal with other stores closer to me in OC but I’ll be giving my business to Direct Action whenever I can.
No BS macho attitude, friendly, helpful and they’re happy to walk you through these intentionally convoluted and insane Calif gun laws. Did a PPT, fast, efficent, no waiting and knowledgeable. Don’t hesitate to go out of your way to support these guys.

This is my go to gun store! They have a large selection of off roster guns you can SSE! They also carry different types of rifles and shotguns! They can also order something not in stock or be put on a wait-​list! The best part is their customer service! Nick and Colby is very knowledgable and helpful!
Cons of this store is the location. It’s roughly 45 mins away from me!!! Worth the drive though. The accessories and ammo can get pretty pricey compared to online vendors but that’s with every local gun store.

I usually don’t post on Unilocal,but when I do it’s only because this business is more than exceptional. :p Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. I wanted to give this place a shot because of all the good reviews, now I can clearly see why. Keep up the good work guys, this is how people should be treated anywhere they go. Will be back to do more business.

Friendly & educated staff made my experience great, Bought my first Glock there and will be buying my second there as well.
If your’re not a experienced gun buyer/​owner then ask questions they will help you understand anything you want to know.
I love the fact that they gave me plenty of time to pay off my Glock without needing any extention. The purchase process went smoothly and the digital interactive kiosk made it a sintch to complete required questions in a timely fashion.
I live about 50 mins away an am delighted to travel to DAS for my 2^nd amendment needs, Thanks guys see you soon!

I just bought 2 non-​CA compliant Sigs brought into Direct Action Solutions under the CA SSE. I’ve DROS’d 1 & and am waiting the 30 days to DROS the other. Colby & NIc were both very helpful with these difficult transactions. They charged $ 150/​gun for bringing in guns under the CA SSE & had to charge me CA sales tax for the full amounts from Gunbroker & GunsAmerica. They also will not release the non-​CA magazines but at least I was able to buy Sigs that I won’t ever be able to bring into CA again (if/​when the CA SSE is eliminated this January.)
I hadn’t bought pistols in over 20 yrs so they had me take the safety test for $ 25.
Many non-​CA guns cannot be brought in under the CA SSE but some can. it’s an expensive proposition but Direct Action is a great shop to help with these transactions.
These guys are nice and really offer great customer service.

These guys are awesome. I found them yesterday and i was greeted right away, even though it was Sunday end of day.
This is not the type of gun store you walk into and have to deal with A-​Holes who think they are all mighty and all knowing. These people will help you and provide you with knowledge about what is available. Great prices, really competitive just shop around and see for yourself. I have been to quite a few of the other shops in the area and there really is a difference in the way customers are treated at Direct Actions Solutions.
Stand up group of guys here, if you ask me. I’ll definitely be coming back here, and my wife and my father bought a gun from them yesterday! We will be back and this is now my choice for Gun Stores in San Diego.

incredible selection and service. Seriously, no matter who helps you, you’ll get a level of help that you won’t find anywhere else, and you’ll probably see things here you can’t find anywhere else either. I am partial to Nic — he is my biggest man crush.

First visit, I had previously called to see if they had a specific compensator in stock, which they didn’t. They could’ve ordered it for me but had no ETA due to it’s popularity. I ended up buying the compensator online (only one website had 1 in stock) and I called DAS to see how much they would charge me to install it since I had no AR tool. Kolbi said to bring it on by and he installed if for me free of charge when another gunshop I called would’ve charge me minimum of $ 65 depending if it was pinned or not.
It’s a small gun shop but the great service makes up for it. Talk to Kolbi, Shawn, and Nick they all very cool and laid back guys. Stayed in the store for 1 hour just checking out different guns and rifles. I pretty muched played with damn near everything the had in stock, and they had no problems with it!
I ended up buying a Magpul UBR stock from them in which they ordered for me. When I came, Shawn just went ahead and installed it for me right then and there. Over time I ended up buying two handguns from them, a Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion, (last one in stock) and a Sig Sauer Mosquito, which had to be ordered.
I am extremely pleased with their customer service and knowledge of California gun laws. The 1 star review for Matt M. is bogus. First off, Matt knew the 1911 he wanted was going to be a special order. Secondly, his job was to find that gun then call DAS to get a FFL transfer if it were far from his city or state. Then DAS would make the arrangements accordingly. Thanks Direct Action Solutions!

This place is awesome. Best gun shop bar-​none in San Diego. These guys have extremely competitive prices and know their stuff.
They have an awesome selection of pistols, guns, ammo, and knives from a broad array of manufacturers. The best part of this shop is that if you have any questions or any problems, they are more than willing to help you with them and sometimes they actually take too much time with fuds that don’t know what they’re doing and waste everyone’s times.
They also do one-​shot exemptions, which means that they can effectively help you get any pistol in California that isn’t necessarily on the list. If there’s a gun you want or need, they will help you find it and buy it and have it shipped to the store so you can quickly start your 10-​day wait.

Been meaning to go to DAS to put down some cash for a TRP operator. The place is a little bit difficult to find… If you passed Fidel’s you’ve gone to far. Plus theirs not a big sign…
But oh man, like everyone here has said, service is top notch. I called them cuz I was lost and someone actually ran outside to flag me down. That’s customer dedication right there.
The store is tiny, probably half the size of the old Parallax Tatical, and that was a small small store back in the day. They have a nice selection of AK/​AR/​pistols etc. Prices are on the higher end (think Turners full price).
Cons:
1. Gun prices are pretty expensive compared to other stores. For example, SS Ruger GP 100 was going for $ 600 vs $ 545 at a broker like DeChiel
2. PPT prices are more than other places in SD, but not as outrageous as Discount. I believe it was $ 50.
3. Gun store is tiny and selection in store is limited.
Pro’s
1. Good service. I’ve been to Turners and Discount where I just stood their and waited, and waited, and waited… Not here. Everyone is super helpful. Staff was always on hand to answer any questions, show me all the cool things, and make suggestions. My wallet hurts.
2. They can do single shot pistols. Gen 4 Glock, no problem. Some fancy 1911, they can get it for you. Nice.
3. Treat their customers right. Online I saw an add for a gun that was priced at $ 1.7K. Emailed them and they quoted me 1.6K+ Went to store and they gave me what they quoted. They said, they rather eat the difference and have me as a repeat customer. I’m sold.
4. They sell some stuff you can’t buy anywhere else like the Kriss Vector. One bad ass gun.
Overall this is a tight, well run store. Hard to say though if it was because at the time I was their, only 3 customers were in the shop, whereas other stores such as Turners and Parallax get butt raped with a billion customers running around, or if they are always like this no matter how busy it gets. Regardless I’ll be back.
