Bargain Hunters Thrift Store

Be aware and take it from an experienced «bargain hunter», there are no bargains to be found here. There is a lot of interesting nostalgic collectibles and lots of junk. From the markets that I know, all prices can be beat by a search on craigslist or ebay. If you are thrift savvy you will be offended by its claims and prices.

Went in to the shop not looking for anything in particular but, left with several items. I have found so many great bargains here. They are always getting new stuff in… so you have to go often to find the best deals. The people working here were really friendly, and helpful. I wish this place were closer. I’d spend much more money here.

Its called bargain hunters so shouldn’t they actually have bargains!!!
Example: A torn vinyl letterman jacket from 10 years ago is $ 50!!! What a joke and a trash dump.
This place actually claims to be San Diego’s number one spot for unique treasure under one roof, according to their t-​shirts. Funny because its in Poway.
Their prices were so high its unbelievable! Please remove the word bargain from the name of your store!!! Unless you just believe that words don’t mean anything. When I left the woman asked «if I was looking for anything particular»? I said Bargains, and walked out, she said nothing.

Ok, in all honesty the only reason we went to this place was out of curiosity, the owner is on the Storage Wars show and we are big fans of the show. With that being said we were sooooo disappointed of the store, it is literally and bump for junk, absolutely nothing in that store is worth buying, with the exception of the unopened toys we did not see one thing worth our time or money or that could be used for anything else. Everything in there is just someone else’s junk. I’m well aware of what a thrift store is, and I have been to MANY thrift stores in my life and most of them have decent stuff and many things that can be used and maybe restored but this place had NOTHING in my opinion.

One of my favorite thrift stores in san diego! First of all if you are a reseller this might not be the place for you as they know what they have. However if you just like finding awesome random stuff at reasonable prices this is the place for you. I cant leave this place without finding a few things i just have to have. Huge variety for any collector or just bargain hunter. Its in a shopping mall full of other thrift stores, which all seem like they are struggling to keep business because this place has so much better stuff. Rene is very friendly. I highly recommend checking this place out.

I’ve been wanting to visit this store and finally did. Fantastic experience from start to finish. I found some cool Midcentury and vintage items on sale, literally filled up my cart, and had carry out service to boot! Rene is really friendly and good with people — attentive, helpful, a big smile, asking if I had questions or needed help — but not in an intrusive, follow-​you-​around-​kind of way. I will definitely make the 30 mile drive again and again!

Pretty good selection of random things. That’s what makes thrift stores fun. Even if I didn’t buy anything, I enjoyed looking. This would be a great place to come and search for vinyl records.

I just came here because my uncle told me to, since he watch the show. But, I have visited many thrift stores and this one is very messy. The prices were very nice, and they have a lot of variety. The service was nice too! I think you can find pretty useful stuffs here. They have a hole collection of comics!

This is a great store to check out if you’re in the area. They have a wide variety of items, from furniture, antiques, and collectables, to electronics, clothes, and records. The prices are unbeatable as well! You can tell they are more focused on moving inventory rather than trying to make a huge profit. I found a lot of stuff to take home with me.
I met Rene while I was there. He was greeting customers at the door with a smile, even after a long day of filming in LA. THAT is how a real business owner should operate. His employees, however, don’t show the same initiative that he does. All of them were texting and literally did not say a single word to me. Hopefully they can change their ways to make it a more positive experience for potential buyers in the shop.

I am thrift store junkie, most stores rude staff, overpriced items, or they follow you around thinking you are some thief trying to steal 2^nd hand items!
I walked in to Bargain hunters I was met bye Renee and Hugo, Renee introduced himself asked what I was looking for showed me around, big store lots to look at/​shop prices were fair, Found new items for me, daughter and dog.

The Storage wars guy Renee greeted us at the door and was very nice. We bought tons of RAIDERS and Princess house crystal at cheap prices. He even posed for a picture with me. We came to this thrift store once before and had no idea it was his. Will be back but only on Saturdays when he’s there

Was lucky enough to find this gem this evening. This place is a very decent size and extremely clean and organized. Their clothing is organized first by size (FINALLY a place that does this) then by color. The clothes are in great condition, including not being very worn. They zip tie the pairs of shoe together, and they’re in great condition also. You don’t get that at the Salvation Army down the street («Where the heck’s the other shoe?!») I will definitely be coming back here the next time I need to do some home or clothes shopping.

Rene and Cassy Are fantastic People. Ive known them both for over a year now. They have a very smart Daughter as well. I Sure wish I had a Wife like his. Please Don’t Judge Him nor his Wife.

Horrible customer service the lady told me there’s no bargaining which is ridiculous on a thrift store she was extremely rude and she told me to go elsewhere never been treated so horribly in my life so I did and never coming back most of the prices are retail at new tools there are a rip off

Thriftgasm! I walked in and my breath was taken away. Exactly what I’m always looking for was right in front of my face… In abundance! I didn’t know what to do with myself. The only drawback to the store is that there wasn’t a cart large enough to hold everything I got. I know, first world problem. I hesitated writing this review because I don’t want anyone else to know about my little secret, but they totally deserve it. I’ve thought about the store every day since my first visit a couple of weeks ago and now that I have some more storage space to work with in my garage… I’m coming back for multiple thriftgasms! Ohhhh yesssss.

I frequent this store often and I have to tell everyone that I’m really impressed with the price and selection that they have. Rene treats his customers like family and is always willing to go the extra mile for them. From Transformers to Tiffany this place has it all. When Bargain Hunters Thrift Store open I brought every Tadashi evening dress in the store (10) because it was my size and my style and still wear them on many occasion. Now I shop for jewelry sterling and some costume.
OMG…Renee have the TAXCO Mexico Sterling Bid Necklace EAGLE 3 Mark Signed «SR» in the case I had my eyes on at
for months and sold it for half the price of RubyLane sale price. Unbelievable prices, excellent customer service and convenient store hours. Savings on top of savings in this store.

I don’t even understand what the haters are sayin about this place, it is great!!! I was in from out of town, and after an unexpected shampoo explosion I needed to grab some new duds asap for under $ 100. So I skipped the mall and headed here. Amazing items, amazing prices, and parking to boot.
Now I came on a Saturday morning, the very worst time to go to any thrift store, but I was able to find everything I needed (and wanted) for $ 41.
Check in with Unilocal before you go in to get 10% off $ 25 or more. (I didn’t do this so I paid $ 4 more than I should have, poop!)
FYI — There are no dressing rooms and no returns and it is cash only.
But from the looks of the long line to check out, that isn’t bothering anyone.

I got really excited when I saw this name. I love bargains and I am also a huge firearms enthusiasts. While I knew that the context of «hunters» would be sorely out of place when I walked through the door I was at least hoping I’d find a few bargains.
eeermm. Not so much the case.
Bargain Hunters is a big olé room of junk slightly establishing the knick knack drawer of your kitchen come alive; there’s both new stuff and old stuff and it’s not clear how (and why) any of it’s there. With the exception of parakeets and cars, this place has everything: furniture, shoes, clothes, car fresheners, comic books, tools, beanie babies, old clothes, new clothes, eight tracks, small children, trophies– WHATEVER. sounds great right? um, unfortunately, the limited items of cool stuff amidst the sea of junk cannot be justified by the prices. Everything cool cost more than my cat. Yes, I got my cat at the shelter during a valentine’s day special but that is neither here nor there. Jigglypuff was the best 46 dollars I’ve given LA county ever.
I honestly didn’t find one part of the store to be worth checking out. Everything was pretty mediocre and no departments appeared to be any better than the other. Okay, I take that back– I enjoyed the giant bins of tools near the front of the store not so much because any of them seemed useful but because it was all so wizardy that I could not keep grinning. I love giants bins of things so that was an enjoyable but that is only because I am a strange individual.
This place is overpriced. I don’t think there’s any other way to put it. You know when you walk by one of those yard sales full of absolutely awful garbage and despite knowing from afar that there’s is nothing good you walk up to check out the stuff and you pick up the least hideous piece of junk you can find, look at the price tag and realize that the owner has been in some living in bizarre underworld where their shoelaces warrant an eight dollar price tag? yes, you know what I’m talking about. You know exactly what I’m talking about. Well, this is more or less the mentality behind the pricing of Bargain Hunters in a nutshell. So there, you’ve been warned.
The reason I am giving this place two stars and not one is because of the staff– they were friendly. I cannot explain why but even in my very brief interaction with them they seemed quite proud of the store and the giant hoards of stuff that it bequeathed and that made me smile.
there are literally half a dozen other thrift stores in the exact same strip mall that Bargain Hunters is located in. I would highly advise wasting your time and building your hoard at any of those establishments instead

This is an awesome thrift store, that smells old and antique and perflectly caters the comic addict in you! My favorite section of the store was that huge, well organized, properly preserved in plastic folders, comic collection. Anything you want, just $ 1.99 each issue.
You can also get some cool old school phones, yeah, the ones you have to put your finder in the disk and dial each number… that would be a perfect adition to a house that wants to recreated a retro look.
They have tons of children’s clothes and many wedding dresses. I honestly don’t know who want to buy those, but for sure this can be an alternative for Halloween shopping if you need to dress with a bride costume. I noticed that they also have a costume section where you can get second hand classic Halloween attires, such as the ‘sexy nurse’ or pirate. Worth a visit in the Poway thift ‘rodeo drive’.
