757 Crave On The Harbor

This is a decent venue for a quick lunch. The views of the water and marina are quite nice. Outside seating available. The menu is your standard fare of burgers and seafood. Daily specials are good value. We had the fish tacos, big Olé fish sandwich and fish and chips. All the food was delivered quickly and the server was attentive. All items were very good and piping hot. The fish tacos were good but needed more seasoning. We started with the fried pickles which were good but a bit overcooked. Still, we polished them off very quickly as they tasted great. Overall, nice place, decent food, good value. Will be going back or the occasional lunch.

I’m so glad I made the trip to this restaurant. The location and views were incredible with the walk down the dock adding to the experience. The staff was attentive and fun. I had the Thrilla from Manila and sampled the red velvet waffle and the drunken monkey stick; all were incredible. Loved being served lumpia with the river view. I also appreciate when someone gets a spicy bloody mary right. I’ll definitely be back next trip to try the dinner menu and maybe check out their entertainment options.

Except for the view nothing else was good about this place for me! Soup was salty, tacos were tasteless, Cajun pasta had no Cajun spice in it. Disappointed! But the sundae was really good!

This place is in a unique location for success, surrounded by boats and water. Unfortunately, they’ve failed to embraced their tiki bar design. Walk into this place and you’re most likely to find closed windows with the AC on and hear new age pop music on the radio. Unless you know there is live music, stay away.

Been here 3 times. Should be nuff said, but I’ll elaborate. Great Filipino lumpia! Drunken monkey sticks are a great appetizer. Fried shrimp is lightly battered and comes out to perfection. Shrimp and grits is excellent. Chicken Rockefeller, superb! Crab cakes have very little filler. I like crab meat! A cheeseburger with bacon and a fried egg on top!!! SO GOOD! We’ve always had the best service. It’s busy at times, so it stands to reason servers are also busy, but they do a good job checking on us.

We came into Tidewater Marina by boat and after getting cleaned up went up to the 757 Crave. We had a wonderful experience. The service was great, the food was excellent. We had a great time and even met the owner Ron who chatted with us for a few minutes. Thanks for a great night Ron!

The views around the restaurant are amazing! I had a bunch of family and friend gather for lunch there after my graduation and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere and the food! The food is delicious and the drink are tasty! The staff was very hospitable and attentive. I will be going again and definitely recommend trying this place out if you haven’t already!

One of the nicer places in portsmouth (1 of many) :) It’s located on the pier an offers great views of the downtown norfolk area. There is somewhat of a walk from the parking lot (if u drove a car) the food and service here was good no complaints. Their bread pudding was very sweet and full of cranberries I’d def come back for more, would’ve been better if served warm. Personally I believe the best thing is the location .

The view is a five, the food was a one. The crab dip looked the same when we threw it up. The quality of the food was just subpar, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to eat here. Even though her service was nice, our waiter forget about us three separate times.
EDIT** Unfortunately since our waiter was bartending up front as well as waiting tables in the dining room there was never an opportunity to discuss our meal because she forgot about us on three separate occasions (which I already mentioned). In fact after charging my husbands card she came back to the table and asked us how the food was. She said she had just read the review. This made us feel uncomfortable and we felt she was confrontational. We told her what we liked and what we did not like. We particularly did not like the crab dip. Despite YOUR response to my first review she did not offer to «correct the matter»!!!

I have to say, my favorite dish from this place is the Hangover Burger. It is a bit on the pricy side compared to competitors but it’s flavor definitely makes this hamburger worth it. They start with a 100% All-​American beef Patty grilled to your perfection, topped with cheese and bacon and the piece that makes this burger the king of their burgers, an egg on top. I usually go with a lightly fried egg. Of course, you can get your normal condiments added and any extras like letultuce, tomatoes, and onions. It wouldn’t be a signature Crave dish without their secret Crave sauce added as well.
There are a couple things I’m not too thrilled with. I have to order to go most times so when I order a large to go drink, I’m immediately dissatisfied by the to-​go kid cups they give you. The second thing I’m not to thrilled with is the way the fry their french fries. Up until about last November, they had amazing krinkle cut fries that were the perfect addition to my meal, however, over the past few months, ive noticed that their fries have this burnt look and texture to them and sometimes even a burnt taste. The seagulls like their fries. They also manage to change staff quite often too. Mostly waitresses and bar keeps.
Over all, I give this restaurant 4 stars. It does have its flaws but when you compare their signature dishes with the atmosphere and the view it has over the Elizabeth River, it’s definitely overlookable. You can choose to either sit outside on the balcony or inside. They have specials where they’ll either do karaōke night or they have special guest singers.

The view, food, and drinks are well worth the drive! We couldn’t decide what to get so we got everything. (you’ll notice this trend in my reviews) I can honestly say the location is more of a draw for me than anything, but the food was good. The lumpia and she crab soup were my favorites. I was sad because they were out of drunken monkey sticks and I’d heard such good things about them. I’ll be back. …without the kids.

Oh my gosh. I had an overall fantastic experience! The staff are family; they’re funny, kind and value their customers. The food was stellar.amazing.fresh…sooo great and flavorful! They have the BEST LUMPIA in VIRGINIA! I’ve traveled to a few places in Virginia to have the lumpia. .by far the best lumpia I’ve had in years.
I ordered the crab cakes. They were fresh, filling, all lump crab meat, NO FILLERS! .better than my grandmother’s, but I won’t tell her that!
The ambience is funny, homey, classy, yet exciting. They have karaōke and a full bar. The restaurant is fairly large. We conversed with the owner while we ate — Rohn is a great guy.
For dessert we had the Key Lime Pie. Errmahgherd soooo great and fresh. WE’LL BE COMING BACK. And our experience was worth the trek in the snow. :)

The owner was wonderful, he came straight to my table and made me a dish special just for me! All bc I made a complaint about the shrimp being dry, which was a first for them, they’re food is always very good me. The lobster bisque, shrimp pomodoro, everything I eat there is fabulous, and when I didn’t like something he made it just to my liking! And said he was going to run it as a special this weekend bc it was delicious. He even said he was going to name it after me lol I felt like a queen. Anyways there was great customer service, it’s not everyday the owner comes and talks to you at your table and then makes you food personally!
Thank you Ron and the waiters, I can’t wait to come back again for the entertainment! Not to mention the view, gorgeous

I’ve been meaning to update this review for a while. All it takes is ONE time for bad service and I go running (and 99% of the time don’t bother coming back).
My friend and I came here on a Friday night after exhausting other options in Olde Towne (seriously Portsmouth get it together!). I mentioned this place based on a good experience from before.
We entered the establishment and a guy walked past us that didnt even bother to greet us (yes he worked there). There were three girls behind the bar who looked up and didn’t greet us. In fact after looking up they seemingly disappeared. I was irritated but more hungry so we waited patiently to be greeted and seated (I don’t know if you just sit and find your own table but if that is the case get rid of the sign at the front that says please wait to be seated.)
Eventually, almost 10 minutes later I make eye contact with one of the girls and ask loudly do we just seat ourselves? She said she would grab the hostess since she wasn’t sure what was going on. Um ok. So finally the hostess comes up (an older woman) and sits us down at a table inside since the patio was full. The waitress whom I got the attention of earlier comes by and accepts our drink orders (no alcohol btw). She comes back with the right drink for my friend and the wrong drink for me. I asked for sweet tea and she brings back a coke (yuck!!). Thankfully we put in our food orders with our drink orders because it was another 10 minutes before I found her in passing to ask her for sweet tea. More time goes by before I get my sweet tea (which I have to remind her again that I want my tea!!) Lol. Goodness.
SO sometime passes, we get our appetizers and finally my sweet tea. Appetizer was good (popcorn shrimp). My friend ordered a salad as an appetizer which doesn’t come out for another 15 minutes. BTW at this point we are frustrated. SO to make a very long story short it was about nearly a half hour later when we got our entrees.
Im sorry but the entrée was just not good. My friend didn’t like hers as well. After all this time we finally get the main course and it’s just yuck. I absolutely hate sending food back but there was no way I could justify spending nearly $ 14 or $ 15 for this. I let the waitress know who already seemed frustrated (not because of us but because of how slow the kitchen was rolling). She took everything off of our bill, which I absolutely didn’t want it to come down to but she insisted. I still left a tip and we left. I will never come back here again and it makes me angry that I rated it with such high reviews and remarks only to have this happen. I hate doing this but I wouldn’t recommend this place to friends or family. I gave it two stars just because I could see the waitress was bombarded with orders and she really was trying but there isn’t much you can do when so much wrong is going on.

Read a few lukewarm reviews about this place but decided to try it anyways because it was walkable from our hotel (we were staying at the Renaissance) and I’m a sucker for a good view. I will say that the view did not disappoint! You walk through rows of yachts and we sat right next to the window and got to watch the sunset. Unfortunately we were kind of forced to watch the sun set all the way down because the food took forever to come out. The restaurant wasn’t even half full so I guess this is normal…
As for the food, the fish tacos were good. Salmon was eh and we also got a Cesaer salad to share which was larger than expected. Not worth the wait though — probably better to try one of the restaurants in the downtown historical area.

This place has an awesome location… on the docks in the middle of the harbor. It made finding the correct place to park to get there a bit of an adventure, but after I figured things out it was definitely a relaxing destination. Sit on the deck if you can: those harbor noises are part of the ambiance! You also have a good view of all of the boaters on the docks, and that can be entertaining as well.
I had fish tacos with fries. Both were good. They seem to have a good variety of choices on their menu. The waitstaff was friendly. If I lived closer, I might come here a bit more often, but its a bit out of the way for me.

The appetizers we ordered (Pickle Chips, Crab Dip, and Lumpia) all set a high bar for our entrees. The Pickle Chips were good, not going to blow you away but if you like fried pickles then you’ll like these. The Crab Dip was phenomenal, definitely a lot of chunks of crab meat in here. The Lumpia was also quite flavorful but nothing to write home about.
I think I might have ordered the wrong thing here, because I felt as though I did not get the proper experience of 757 Crave On the Harbor.
I had the Seafood Mac & Cheese and was very disappointed. Where I was expecting elbow noodles smothered in a creamy cheese with seafood spices such as Old Bay and the like, and chunks of crab and shrimp baked in there, what I received was hardly worth the fanfare.
The Seafood Mac & Cheese would benefit from being renamed and re-​branded. They use penne and there is no creamy cheese covering all the noodles, there is only a layer of what seems to be white and yellow cheddar melted on top of a pool of clam chowder. It was incredibly salty and the cheese itself was very bland.
I also sampled a Fish Taco and found it to be equivalent of a fast food taco in flavor. Boring to the taste.
The best thing that anyone at my table ordered was the Shark Frenzy platter. The fried flounder was pretty juicy and the calamari was good enough to get by being called calamari.
Careful what you order here and stick to the basics.

I will say up front that this is a preliminary review. I honestly did not have the best time during this visit but my experience will not keep me from ever coming back.
A friend and I came in after church for brunch. The place like most restaurants were busy due to it being Mothers Day. Despite that we were seated right away.
I had the Humungo AM burrito and my friend had the Loco Moco. The food was good, it was hot and had nice flavor profile. However this is were out experience started to fail. We asked for hot sauce and a refill for our coffees when the food was served. We tucked into the food and watched our waitress come and go to other tables but it appeared that we were forgotten until I flagged her again. That’s when we got the coffee and I asked again for hot sauce. By the time the hot sauce arrived we were down to a couple bites left.
The good news is that the flavor a were not lacking but hot sauce would have really added a great kick to the pallet.
I can’t honestly say that I crave visiting again but I will give them another chance so I can improve the marks. The food would have gotten 4 stars, the service gets 1.5…

I’ve been wanting to try this place for so long. In fact, I marked them as one of my bookmarked. I was quite excited today after a long wait I’ve finally come here.
I wanted to start my review the thing that I love about this place. I like the entire set up of the restaurant, the patio is probably the best one because you can endulge yourself with fresh air and the stunning panoramic view of Downtown Norfolk. I like the family ambience and the cool vibes of the restaurant thought its refreshing.
On the negative side, the food and service is outrageously poor. I don’t think its even a restaurant standard. I must say it was poorly executed. Mind the busy scenario however its also not an excuse to served unseasoned and unappetizing meal. I don’t have much to say about the food, thought it was forgettable.
The service on the other hand was absolutely terrible. I don’t ask much attention but I deserved to be treated fairly. Our server was a mess, I mean she was miserable polite, you can’t even paint her face.
If I am going to rate this according to the scenery. No doubt its 100% five star. I have no desire of coming back to dine in but I will probably come by for drinks.

We used a groupon and ended up ordering quite a bit of food. We started with two bowls of she crab soup. It was thick and creamy with lots of small clumps of crab. I only found one tiny piece of shell. There was lots of finely diced mushrooms throughout. I’ve never had she crab with mushroom. It was tasty but if you don’t like mushrooms steer clear.
We also got calamari which was a little tough as the rings were rather thick cut. There were crunchy and seasoned well. The marinara was a little too thick and wasn’t easy to dip.
I had the flash fried shrimp. The shrimp were split and lightly breaded. They were delicious. I think they gave Steiny’s a run for their money. My entrée came with three small boiled potatoes. I like simple, well cooked vegetables and the green beans were perfect. They were cooked just enough without being over cooked and seasoned lightly.
My friend reallly liked his crab cake on a hamburger. He said it was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. It came with seasoned crunchy shoestring French fries.
Our waitress was great. She was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I think her name was Amanda but I’m not sure.
We would definitely go back if there wasn’t that toll on the tunnel. It would be a little bit of a hike to take the ferry over from Norfolk.
