I’ve eaten here many times over several years and have always found the food to be tasty enough and plentiful enough to fill in any gaps in my appetite. It is several steps up from Panda Express where large containers of food are often left for hours in a water bath not kept at a temperature to discourage food poisoning(I have suffered from this scourge from eating there). Smaller containers are kept and served from and replaced frequently here. I especially like their General Tso chicken. I think my only complaint is the customer service. The counter clerks have almost none to tell the truth. No smiles, no chat, sometimes a bit surly(and to be honest I tend to get a bit surly myself after having to be on my feet or am tired, so I have sympathy). In the end, however, I eat here when in need as it is the best choice, to me, of all the various food outlets at Pioneer Place Food Court.

Their General Tso’s chicken is so good! I have driven all the way from the other side of town for it! The Service is fast and the serving sizes are generous! The value is great too! Under $ 6 dollars for a a main entry item and two side items!

The Pioneer Place food court has never been good and it is a disgrace to food courts, cuisine, downtown Portland, Portland and Oregon itself. However, Lotus Express offers moderate portions of Chinese food, at an acceptable taste, with a very low price and offers quick service. This holds well enough to make it an acceptable place for a quick lunch, but mark my words, I will not bring my pet, my friend, my girlfriend or my mom, or my dad here, because anything in the food court would degrade them as people. They let you sample many of their entrees. But, while some things in this food court are horrific, you can justify getting a quick fix of everyday food while commuting around downtown. This place is and shall remain an occasional guilty pleasure, only because Portland could have better Chinese food. Just remember that Yeung’s Lotus Express is selling itself on the basis of being conveniently located in the mall. Yeung’s is special only if you are in a rush and want a quick gulch of comfort food.

I was in Pioneer Place and deiced to give this place a try. The sample that I tried seemed to be okay but by the time I was half way through my meal it didn’t taste so good. I think there are better options in the food court then.

It’s a Panda Express knock-off with higher prices. It smells good and it tastes good until you get a few bites in. That’s when regret and sadness take over and you realize you should have gotten something else. I’ll leave it at that.

I started eating here in 1995, and keep on coming back for more. Big portions, the chicken is always nice and crunchy. General’s chicken has always been my fave. Just great Oriental fast fare .’-p

Not bad as far as generic Chinese food goes. Let me qualify that better. Not bad as far as generic mall Chinese food goes. They have the standard items such as Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, fried rice, noodles, and egg rolls(as well as some other basic everywhere Chinese dishes). Nothing is too spicy and there is no option to get it spicier(since it’s all prepared ahead of time of course). I tend to hit this place up out of convenience, since it’s a block or two from work and it’s warmer then walking farther for better. In a pinch it’s a decent lunch for under $ 6 and the portions tend to be plenty large.

Working across the street from Pioneer Place Mall, I visit the food court more often than I would like to admit. After dodging the Sprint, Mobile and AT&T sales representatives trying to sign me up for a new contract, I make it to the promised land. As far as food-court-chinese places go, Lotus Express is the crème de la crème. Never changing, quick service, big portions. I recommend the orange chicken and the mushroom chicken. Stay away from the egg rolls. trust me. even is you consider yourself adventurous. stay away.
