Whistlestop for an Organ Teacher is a beautiful sculpture located near Pioneer Courthouse Square. It is part of the plethora of art which covers the adjacent avenues as well. The location near transit and an Elephant’s Deli cart may also aid people in enjoying it.
I walked by having heard of some other pieces of downtown art, but not this one. Like its peers, it includes a caption tile on the sidewalk. The confusing part is that it seemed to show a trumpet or something, but whistlestop is a confusing designation. It used to be that presidents stopped by train to visit constituents, and I don’t see a large train, but an abstract machine, however it is an elegant one at that.
A teacher deserves a «whistlestop».
