Visage Eyewear is a full service vision-​care boutique located in Portland’s Pearl District. Visage offers comprehensive eye exams by Dr. Mila Ioussifova and Dr. Sagina O’Halloran. Our doctors are providers for most major insurance companies as well as VSP.

Established in 1999, we stand behind our desire to incorporate the best quality eye care with eclectic, well made eyewear. Visage features only independent lines from around the world. Designers such as Anne et Valentin, Bevel, Chrome Hearts, Claire Goldsmith, ic! Berlin, Lindberg, Masunaga, Maui Jim, Oliver Goldsmith, Orgreen and Theo.

Such an upscale environment! Their customer service was on point. Cassandra was super professional and knowledgable! Their products are super classy and durable. You can tell when you try on a pair of their glasses that they’re made to last — definitely worth the money. The store was clean and tidy with super attractive displays and tons of options. Just returned from purchasing a new pair of glasses from Visage. What a wonderful experience! They have the brand of glasses that I love and have many different styles from that brand. This time I couldn’t decide between two colors of the same style and was told that I could check them out! I got to take two pairs of $ 500 glasses frames home for the weekend. I got to try them in various lighting situations and with various colors of clothes. (It’s a girl thing). I did decide on one pair and purchased them today (and returned the other pair). I never felt pressure to make a decision on the spot, I was never told that something looked great on me when it really didn’t just so they could make a sale. I highly recommend Visage if you want some trendy glasses and want to work with some really great people.

Three things happened at my appointment.
1. I was told something false about one of my eyes by the doctor.
2. My blood pressure was taken by the doctor during this appointment and because it was elevated the doctor chose not to record it.
3. I felt uncomfortable for the entirety of the appointment with the doctor.

Visage delivers on time as promised in «1» week. I wore my new ic Berlin frames with super light Trivex lens for 1 week now. I am so happy – frames, graphite, ultra light, no screws, no solder, minimalistic frames – all about seeing. I do not feel them pressing on my temples or resting on my nose. Because the frames are minimal I do NOT see «the» frames when I look at an object – as I would see a wide/​thick/​trendy plastic frame. Be who you were meant to be and just see clearly – go minimal – G0-​By Visage to see your options! I see with ic Berlin frames now!

Visage Eyewear is the only place for me for eyeglasses, and I now see their optometry staff for exams. I get a new pair of glasses every year or two and I’ve received received compliments from complete strangers on each one. Great selection, and they’ll even special-​order a pair for you to try at no cost. The service from the staff is outstanding, working with you to find that pair that says «you». Hey, If you gotta wear ‘em, you might as well have fun with them! (I’ve purchased frames I typically would not have considered, but found that I really liked their suggestions). I’ve also been present when people walk in and ask for adjustments on glasses they didn’t purchase there, but have been accommodated cheerfully.

I waited to write this. I got glasses here that never quite felt right. They still feel blurry, about 9 months later. I went back a few times to see if it could be corrected from tests, but the Dr. wasn’t able to find a better prescription. I gave it an extra star for some of the frames available, but overall I was not satisfied with my prescription.
TLDR: Not satisfied with prescription yet stuck with «no solution» answer & bill.

I am in love. I have never worn glasses before this year and I was really nervous about getting them. I have a really hard time finding sunglasses that suit my face so I assumed glasses shopping would be a nightmare. I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped into Visage. The staff was SO friendly and attentive. Cassandra helped me find some styles that fit my face and I actually had a hard time picking just one pair. I now own two pairs of beautiful glasses from Visage and I couldn’t be happier with them. I definitely recommend Visage to anyone looking for a great pair of frames.

I am so very disappointed with this place that I have to let others know this is not a good place to go if you are looking for quality long lasting lenses.
The frame selection is great but I have had to take them back twice because the coatings on the lenses were coming off and even after taking extra care with my glasses, cleaning them only with the stuff they recommended, I have had so many scratches on my lenses that it’s almost unwearable. and I’m a city dwelling guy, never had this issue with lenses from other places before.
How much did I pay for the lenses alone… over $ 500! not counting the frames.
Stay away… nice sales people + bad product = very bad consumer experience

All I can say is that they have a nice, albeit, very expensive supply of frames. My experience with the optician was abominable. In my 17+ years of having reading glasses, I’ve never had someone prescribe the wrong lenses. She clearly didn’t listen to me and was so unprofessional. No, I don’t want to hear about your career dilemma («should I take that full-​time job at Kaiser or have more time to ride my bike»). Excuse me? I’m here for a service, not your therapist.
From start to finish (i.e., no introduction (rude), equipment not turned on, incomplete information regarding my diagnosis) it was a complete disappointment. Not to mention the wait to have my correct lenses resolved.

Maybe there was a time when Visage had some problems with some customers (2008, different ownership/​management), I don’t know. I went there for the first time 2 weeks ago. I’ve not had new glasses in a long time and was nervous (I’m a guy and I never know what looks good and this is more stressful than clothes shopping as it’s really final).
Anyway, I walked in and Cassandra helped me thru the whole process. She listened carefully to what I was saying about what I wanted to express with them and what I needed them for (reading, or computer, or sports, …).
She then gracefully moved me away from «the same old frames» that were the only thing I knew, and laid out half a dozen new styles within a minute, all of which looked really good and fresh on me. Then she helped me narrow it down. It was hard to do, they have SO many great styles.
The glasses arrived long before the due date, and the whole process could not have been easier or more pleasant.
Really, give them a try. You’ll be glad you did! Maybe I’ll SEE you there!
(Get it? I said, «I’ll SEE you there», and it’s a glasses store, so it’s … aw, never mind.)

Over the years, I’ve bought several pairs of glasses at Visage Eyewear. After shopping around at other designer eyewear stores in the Portland area, I haven’t found a better selection of stylish frames and a more attentive staff. My favorite brands Visage carries are orgreen (

). You owe it to yourself to try on a pair of anne et valentine frames before you buy that same boring style you always get. Live a little and be noticed!

I bought frames and lenses with a eye check a few months ago and couldn’t be happier. I had previously bought from another shop a couple of years before and saved a couple of bucks but was miserable with the service and the daily torture of wearing my glasses. At Visage I got great looking glasses and an eye exam along with expert fitting and customer service. I had to go back and get them re-​adjusted after I lost a wrestling match with my 8 year-​old.
Everybody at Visage is very competent and nice to work with. With something so important as your glasses and something that needs to be right every day you wear them you owe it yourself to visit Visage and get yourself a great pair of glasses that you will be happy with every time you put them on. Can’t be more happy with the frames and with the quality of the lense that they produced. Excellent, excellent, excellent!

I’ve been a customer of Visage for nine years, and couldn’t be more happy with the service I get. They carry premium products that are a bit more unique than what you can find at the chain stores, and the service is second to none.
It’s always hard for me to pick out new frames, as I’m used to seeing my face with a certain style of frame. Meghan has helped me select my last several frames, and each time she’s selected something I probably wouldn’t have found on my own. Not a week goes by that I don’t get compliments on my glasses (even from total strangers)! So now I just put myself in Mehan’s hands and let her do her thing.
I always look forward to shopping for new frames, and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else!

I have to admit I do not wear glasses, but this beautiful, spacious store always caught my eye. Since my dad mentioned he wanted a certain type of designer glasses awhile back, I thought, what better time than the holidays to stroll in!?! Since they had a great assortment, I didn’t have a clue where to start so I was greeted by Brandy who introduced me to some great options. She was very helpful without the usual pressure of sales. I was extremely impressed by her knowledge and was even more impressed that she was nurturing (as opposed to being snobby) about my complete lack of knowledge on frames.
I ended up enjoying my time there exploring the unique frame styles and taking notes on potential sunglasses I may need for myself when the time comes. It’s a nice independent store that I am proud to support, and in this economy, it’s more important than ever.

This place is awful. Here my hellish tale. I saw Dr. Clouse, and got a prescription. For 6 months I struggled with the glasses distributed. I finally called, and they admitted that the perscription for the right and left lenses had been swapped, because the receptionist, Brandy, wrote the wrong symbol down on the order to the lens-​maker. For six months I have been suffering.
When I called to tell them — after admitting their error — they made no offer of responsibility. Wouldn’t handle the shipping (I live out of state now) nor throw in something for my trouble. Then, they take 3 WEEKs to fix the problem, and won’t overnight the glasses to me due to expense.
This is ridiculous. I urge you not to go to Visage Eyewear or Eyedentity — for they don’t value their customers — or the money they bring to the business.

Normally I like to support local businesses, but this time I decided against it. Yes, Visage has interesting frames — but they’re certainly not hard to find elsewhere. Let me explain:
I’ve had my eye on a set of Orgreen frames for the past couple of weeks. They were priced at $ 540 at Visage, which is pretty steep. But the frames *were* pretty sexy. Then, a few days ago I found the same frames on
for only $ 499, including shipping. So, being a bargain hunter I am (ironic, I know) I asked a salesrep at Visage if I could get a discount on frames, considering they were $ 41 cheaper online. I was met with a look of disbelief. After the salesperson had a brief conference with the manager I was notified that Orgreen doesn’t just sell their frames to anybody and that there were only two places in Portland that carry that brand. Huh. So, basically, I was accused of lying. Awesome. Hey, guys, ever hear of a thing called Google?
Anyway, I can’t wait to get my new frames. Too bad they won’t be coming from the oh-​so-​snooty Visage. But, hey, you can always use this store as a nice place to try on the glasses you’re going to eventually buy online!
