Tom Leach Roofing

Tom Leach roofing did our roof on Jan 13 and 14. They did a terrific job. The crew was pleasant to work with; many have been with the company for over a decade. The flashing around the chimneys was very well done, as well the other flashing and drip edges. One challenging valley required some expertise that they paid close attention to. This was an architectural grade roof over a 3 tab, for which Aaron discussed the option of a tear off and we decided a second layer would work fine. Aaron is now the owner, taking over the business from Tom Leach for whom he had worked for many years. When the job was done, everything was completely cleaned up, and except for the new roof, one would hardly know they had been there. It took us a while to pick out the color, but they had a list of houses with different colors to look at, which made the choice easier to determine.
Having worked in industry, I was also impressed with their safety procedures.
PS: I read the negative review from Dec 2015, and had the opposite experience, finding Aaron very professional and knowledgeable. I took a neighbor’s recommendation who had used him several times and decided to look no further after talking with the Aaron.

I have used Tom Leach for years and more specifically Jorge. I can’t say enough good about Jorge and the professionalism he brings to the door. Jorge is honest, fast and 100% punctual and reliable, and Tom Leach has one of the best business philosophies I have seen in Portland.
If you are looking for a new roofing company, look no further.

Aaron from Tom Leach provided us with all the information we needed to make a sound and knowledgable decision about having our roof replaced. Their bid was right in line with the three other companies we researched. The products they use are of high quality and the staff was communicative and worked hard to meet our needs. They used safe practices every day, cleaned up the area at the end of each day and were easy to work with in every way. We would definitely recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Woke up this Sunday morning and found a leak spot in my den ceiling and a wall crack… shock! Panic!
Called Tom Leach and was greeted by a courteous receptionist and transferred to manager for service. Phone was immediately answered and arrangements made for a technician to be here within the hour. Problem discovered and fixed.
So relieved and grateful to be treated with such efficient and courteous care.

My experience was pressure by the owner to «get the roof done before the rains” – even though I had concerns about his recommendations. He was kind enough to place a tarp over the area where there was water coming in until I could research the best approach for the type of roof that we had. It turns out that the recommendations by TL Roofing was completely wrong. We already had 2 layers and putting on a third layer was against code. I went with a company that did the correct evaluation and couldn’t be happier. When I told the owner that I wasn’t going to have the roof done on his timeline, he was quite rude and unprofessional – raising his voice and ultimately hung up.

We had our new roof done from Tom Leach this winter. For choosing the slow season there was a discount, and the bid was extremely fair for such quality service. Aaron was responsive and professional, always emailed me back with prompt answers to all my many questions. The job was done in just a couple days, with a gorgeous outcome. Even with a last-​minute surprise of having an unsalvageable rotting skylight, the guys had a new skylight onsite immediately to get the job done on time. A couple days later I noticed a small clean-​up issue likely due to weather, and Jorge came out right away to help make it right. Our roof looks fantastic, and I highly recommend Tom Leach!

My son had his roof installed by Tom Leach Roofing; he was very happy with the results and with the aftercare when a problem resulted. So I chose them as well, and I was happy I did so. They came on time, had all the materials they needed, and did a good job of putting on a new roof that looks neat and attractive. The managerial fellows who worked on site were pleasant and explained any questions I had. The job took a day longer than estimated, but who cares if it’s done right? When they finished, the job site was left very clean. So I have nothing but good things to say about this company.

Tom Leach Roofing, was by far, the best experience I have had in my 60 years of dealing with contractors. The price of a project like this is never cheap, but his quote was competitive. His crew was ON TIME EVERY DAY. Curteous, pleasant and very detail oriented. Cleaned up impecably. Not to mention, helped me climb on the roof to survey the work with them. I would not hesitate to recomend Tom Leach for any roofing needs in the future.
Aaron the owner has reinstilled my faith in that their are a few good contractors left out there.

Just got a new roof installed by Tom Leach Roofing. We got 3 bids for the project. All were within a pretty close range. We chose Tom Leach Roofing because of our trust in Aaron, their account rep. He was able to answer all of our questions, made helpful suggestions, and followed through on delivering the project on-​time and on-​budget. They responded quickly to our request for a bid, and once we notified them, the project was completed within the next week. It only took 2 days to replace our roof, and the work was done in the middle of January! I am very pleased with how our new roof looks, and it is a relief to know that it is guaranteed to last for longer than I will probably be alive!

Second experience was far less positive. I tried to make an appointment for Tom Leach to clean my roof and my gutters. I tried calling in twice (two weeks apart) based on my first positive experience with them. Both times I was told they couldn’t give me an appointment when I called in, but that they would call me back «by the end of next week» to make an appointment with me to get my roof and gutters taken care of. They never called me back either time, so I waisted a month waiting on them. Very disappointing, given my first experience with them. Waiting a month for the work to be done is fine, waiting a month to even find out if you can make an appointment is not.
