Timby’s Dip & Strip

We had nine very old kitchen-​cabinet doors to strip. They were coated with about 60 years’ worth of paint, and we really wanted to start from scratch. We read the reviews here on Unilocal and decided to use Timby’s.
We are so, so pleased with the results. The doors are really bare of paint now, ready to sand and apply new paint. The big surprise is the hinges: They are old and now they look nicely antique, really elegant. They were simply coated with paint, and worse, the paint was chipping away and showing the multiple layers. Okay, I know some people like this look but we wanted nice clean elegant hinges. And now we have them!
Superb results. Try them, you won’t be disappointed.

After the success with the kitchen doors, we had Timby’s strip our very old kitchen hutch so we could refinish it. Layers of horrible old varnish and black wax came off, revealing lovely seasoned old wood. Tim was very helpful with unloading the top of the hutch, which was tied to the top of the car, and he and his folks did a fantastic job with the hutch, just as good as the kitchen doors.

Nice people, great work! Affordable, too. Have stripped many items for my home restoration project and done an excellent job on every single piece.

These people are extremely nice and do great work for reasonable prices. Check it out if you have anything that needs to be dipped and or stripped.

After being dissatisfied with poorly stripped doors brought to Houcks – we decided to give Timby’s a try for the next batch.
Timby’s did awesome work! (I wish I could upload photos.) They managed to get most of the paint out of all the crevices and the doors look amazing! They also stripped the paint off the hardware and cleaned out the locks and the doors are good as new. I’m glad we found Timby’s and it’s a pleasure to recommend their service to others.
