Just stopped by after hearing of a Third Strike machine at this arcade, but it is closed down for good. Another arcade gone? Shocker. A neighboring food court employee confirmed Tilt went out of business recently and merged with an arcade in Vancouver, WA. I called around Vancouver arcades but couldn’t confirm this. All I wanted was some arcade Third Strike!

Walking into this location of Tilt is like walking into the ‘90s. I guess there’s a song talking about how the ‘90s are alive in Portland… maybe it’s all about Tilt, except that it’s the ‘90s are dead. This arcade is a shadow of its past glory — four stars is the rating for what it was… two stars is a more apt description of what it is now. I’ll give it a three, to make it even. There are still the basics — skeeball, a DDR machine, a few fighting games — if you can find something you actually feel like playing/is actually turned on, you can occupy yourself here for a little bit [I wouldn’t plan on more than a half hour’s entertainment, personally I barely lasted five minutes in here on my most recent visit]. Most of the games have price tags on them so you can take home a piece of game center history. If you have a lot of money to spare and want to pick me up the pair Wangan Midnight machines, I’ll be eternally grateful.

This placed helped us to waste some time before our movie started. Got to play some fun games with my boyfriend. We felt like teens on a date. I challenged him to basketball, skee ball, and Street Fighter. Then we shared some games. It has been a while since I’ve had the chance to play in an arcade, and I liked it. We wanted to go to Ground Kontrol, but this place satisfied our urge to play games.

Game centers are almost dead in the states(T-T). This must be one of the last Tilt arcades left!!! I spent many many many quarters and hours at Tilt back at tysons back in the day and am glad to see this one survives. They’ve got a good selection of driving, fighting, shooting, air hockey, etc games here. Capcom vs.(^-^) Make sure you stop by to see the wickedly talented white boy play DDR with not one, but 2 sets of pads at the same time. If you want to play Street Fighter 4… like back in the day!!! Please contact and request it! There aren’t any machines in the Portland area yet.
