I created The Rhythm Lab while playing full time in the band

Pink Martini. As my tenure with the band ended I decided to put my full effort into teaching music to people of all ages. I love what I do and feel honored to be able to help others study and play drums.

I have had an exciting 25 year career playing drums and other percussion instruments including the Vibraphone. I played for highly visible outfits like The Garfield Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, wining the 1985 Drum Corps International (DCI) Championships, and traveling the world with Portland’s own Pink Martini for more than a decade.

I have finally realized my dream of owning his own teaching studio, The Rhythm Lab, for the past 10 years.

I am is considered one of the foremost drumming instructors in the Portland area. My teaching philosophy focuses on complete rhythmic understanding, effective technique, inspiring creative expression and, most importantly, having fun.
