I have known Rick and the whole crew and Donnie for many years they work very very hard to know all of their products and they give you great deals I can’t recommend them enough!

I have made several French voice-​over recordings in the Superdigital studio. Each time, it was a pleasure to work with their engineer. Everyone is courteous, helpful, professional. Everything happens on time, there are no surprises. I am sorry not to have more voice recordings to do with Superdigital!

Great store for any producer, dj, or recording artist.
Staff is incredibly friendly and willing to assist you with anything.
Also has used equipment which is great is you are looking for a good deal!

Superdigital is a multiheaded beast in a good way. Store, studio and mastering.
They are a dealer in new and consignment equipment for music recording. That’s microphones, cables, outboard gear, control surfaces, analog and digital consoles and even the mighty, 25 year old format, BetacamSP decks. Price of used gear seemed about right, especially since you could probably ear test it there before buying. They also have cables and handheld digital recorders from Zoom, M-​Audio and others. Digital interfaces too. They are working on their museum too, like a pristine looking Altec drive rack from the 1950’s — that’s vacuum tubes — and some old school Altec 604’s in the original cabinets.
What makes them different from guitar stores, which carry some of the same gear, is that they don’t carry guitars. Guitar stores here are focused on new, not vintage, and generally have staff that does not know recording. Many guitar stores have commissioned staff just waiting to sink their fangs into the less knowledgable customer and not give up until they complete an uninformed sale.
Superdigital also has tracking, mixing and vocal studios. The gem is a [digital] mastering studio, where your digital file can be put through analog, and digital signal shaping controls to come out sounding more beautiful than it came in. There are less than a handful of top tracking studios in Portland, and the Pink Martini chose Superdigital for some tracking as well as mastering work. They also know where to send work for vinyl mastering, which is out of town. That is even though there is someone in town with a Neumann lathe capable of it, he just works on his own projects only. Weird.
The main studio room has drums, toys, a Hammond with Leslies, an upright, with a separate room for the grand. There is still some work to be done on the ceiling though, to tighten up the sound. Trident main board. OK collection of outboard gear.
Others have written about their CD duplication service. Not sure how popular that will continue to be. They did have some cassette duplicators for sale, so they could probably dupe those, I hear cassettes are coming back, with boom boxes, nipping at the heels of vinyl.
Superdigital’s differentiator is that the staff is knowledgeable about how to use new and vintage gear because they have done it in their own studio. So if you are building your own basement studio, or need field recording advice this would be a good place to start.

I went to Super Digital for my 2^nd CD project because my experience with another CD shop was less than ideal. The staff are great — helpful, knowledgeable and professional. The price was right without any surprises or last minute extra costs, and they made sure my project was perfect when delivered. The print and discs totally exceed my expectations. They’re awesome!

I went to superdigital because it was the place my producer recommended due to his unsatisfactory experience with cravedog. Also, a friend of his went through superdigital and everything was quick and hassle-​free.
the final product i received was quite amazing. i think i was most impressed with their graphic design department, who, even though i only had the cover and the back artwork, Andy was able to fill in the blanks perfectly.
joel at the front desk made everything very convenient and was able to answer all of my questions.

For all the griping I did about Superdigital, in the end, they pulled through, actually exceeding my expectations.
After we got through our initial meetings (which was what my first review was based on), I was pretty dubious about the whole situation. But once the band I’m working with settled on designs and it was time to submit our actual order, our experience got much, much better.
It’s true that the Web site isn’t the easiest to navigate, and that templates and order forms are in need of updating (which meant that my designs needed tweaking), but submitting an order at the actual office was incredibly easy.
Their designer got a design proof to me in a rather timely manner, and we received a music proof quite quickly, too. And I have to admit, they put up with a lot of shenanigans with the band – between packed schedules, people moving to Tucson, and a little confusion over contacts – and I appreciated that Joel was able to give me constant and quick updates on our order.
We got our CDs, and the band was thrilled with the quality (and sheer quantity) of the albums, from the vivid colors of the booklet to the free barcode Superdigital provides. So once again, my first impressions were proved wrong.
Now I’ve got about 600 albums in my car.

Truly the worst business and employees I have ever dealt with. I had an incredibly horrible experience in the duplication dept recently. Employees (and managers might I add) were very unprofessional. Like other reviewers have said, everything was a chore. (They quoted me a price on the phone and when I went in the price was completely different and they denied that it could of even happened. Discussing it wasn’t even an option. The employee I dealt with rolled his eyes countless times at me and just treated me with utter disrespect. It was like dealing with a child. The story is much longer than this but I won’t get into nasty details. I left very upset and blogged about it on my site. Then the horrible employee I dealt with threatened legal action on behalf of the company regarding the blog!!! Its called freedom of speech ever heard of it? Obviously not. Do not support this joke of a business.
