Terrible service. It didn’t use to be that way. Today I ordered a drink and watched the employees socialize for 5 minutes before even starting the order. When I finally did get my drink and complained the only response I got was«Awesome». The dark haired bearded gentleman behind the counter didn’t care about customer satisfaction at all. I work downtown and have frequented them a lot in the past and I have noticed that you get better service when they are busy than when it is slow.

This is probably the most aesthetically-pleasing Starbucks I have ever been to, and I live in Seattle(land of Starbucks). Wrought iron and marble tables, modern concrete floors and dramatic woodwork… it meshed well with the vibe of the adjoining hotel, The Sentinel, which I’m sure was the point. Baristas were great — she apologized and quickly fixed the Americano that she left room in(we ordered no room), and major kudos, they made my iced coffee with«light cream» correctly… It’s amazing how many times people disregard my request for«light».

Best Starbucks partners in Portland! It’s very un-Portland to be a regular at a Starbucks, especially when there are so many other great coffee shops within blocks. BUT the staff at this Starbucks are stellar. Always consistently good coffee, great food options, and I have seen them be very very patient with slow indecisive customers. This location is very bright and clean, has a few tables outside for outdoor seating.

Boycott this nasty, rude shop. coffee is acidic, servers are insulting college age losers with rude attitudes. Used to be fairly decent. Found they dislike Veterans. Like all Portland this place acted rude and insulting toward me on numerous occasions I’ll never return. Tried to contact corporate. But they’re worse.

This has to be one of the nicest Starbucks in Portland. The décor is great… You almost feel like you’re in another city. You can also reserve the place for your next group meeting.

Not up to the usual Starbucks consistency. Of 4 drinks, none up to spec temperature. One was Wong drink. Sigh. Owned by hotel, so staff not fully Starbucks trained.

This is my favorite Starbucks. Only because the manager and employees here are so awesome and friendly.

I owe the staff here a huge thank you. I was finishing up my masters degree this year and this Starbucks was sanctuary where I could get work done. The barristas and cashiers are all polite and friendly. Probably the only downside is that the location attracts many homeless people as well as some who seem sketchy or mentally unhinged. It’s sad… because these are people who clearly need help and Starbucks is a business, not a shelter.

I have never bought anything from this location. My first time in was a couple mornings ago when I was on my way to the gym. I had to use the bathroom so badly and doubted I could hold it til I got to the gym. I was ready to beg and plead as I’m used to downtown Portland being the most unfriendly city I’ve ever been when it comes to using a bathroom. The lady was so pleasant about it and handed me the key. It may seem silly to write a whole review about this but I want to affect change in my city. I’m tired of my friends and family visiting me in this most beautiful city but being denied the common respect of urinating behind closed doors. Thank you to the staff and management.(I already went in and thanked them in person.)

Stayed at the Governor Hotel and LOVED the fact that this Starbucks was attached to their lobby. Great(as per usual) Starbucks service!

This is one of the of the comfiest, cleanest, and least crowded Starbucks locations in downtown Portland. Ample seating and a fireplace open up into the Governor Hotel lobby. I come here to study and have a romantic morning hot chocolate or latte with my husband on Sunday mornings sometimes. There aren’t many people here in the evenings either and it’s a good place to read a book or have a conversation. Of course, like all Starbucks, the lattes are good-quality and the service is standard. I don’t feel like I know the workers here like the ones at the main location in Pioneer Square, but the workers here aren’t in such a high profile location and maybe don’t have to work as hard to make a strong impression. They’re friendly but I don’t recognize them and they don’t recognize me, if that makes sense. My Starbucks intake always goes up in the winter with the arrival of all of the holiday lattes and hot chocolates. This place might be a bit hidden but I recommend it if you’re working downtown and don’t want all the long lines and aggressive businessmen competing for your crème brule soy mocha.
