Skin by Lovely – Portland

I did ALOT of research for over a year and finally I decided on going with skin by lovely. I really wanted to like this office but was very let down. I’d like to start this review on a positive note by stating that the staff at Skin by Lovely are very friendly and welcoming. The office is bright and clean. My first visit was on 2÷25÷2016 for botox and fillers. The botox worked great and I’m satisfied with the results. The restylane/​filler experience was where I was very disappointed for multiple reasons. My first mistake was made when I called and requested Lovely but the receptionist said she was fully booked and would be out of town so I would have to be seen by Teresa. I was hesitant but didn’t want to wait another two weeks for Lovely, so I agreed. To get the the point I stated I wanted my naso-​labial folds FILLED in, as well as my upper lip. She quoted me somewhere around $ 660+ for restylane. I told her I wanted botox in my DAO because the skin around bottom lip was saggy and I wanted to lift the corner of lips. I cant remember exactly what she said but she did not agree and without my knowledge she put filler around this area. As I looked in the mirror stated it looked odd and she said it would all even out eventually. Fast forward to my next visit with her, I wanted her to dissolve the filler around the corners of my mouth and DAO area because it looked like I had been holding water in my cheeks even though the swelling had subsided. I expressed my concern to her that my folds were still deep and I didn’t notice a difference once the swelling had gone. The staff took after pictures of me and tried to show me where there were results but the results were not evident in the area I wanted it at all and to I took pictures for myself from before my visit up to today where my nasolabial folds exactly the same as they did before my visit. She stated that if I wanted them completely smoothed out I would need another syringe. Well. I wish I would have known this beforehand or I wouldn’t have spend almost $ 700 for nothing. She dissolved the filler round my mouth but to this day its not all the way gone and some has even traveled down towards my chin. The filler around left in the corners of my mouth has created smile lines that I didnt even have before. Another action that frustrated me was that she put the filler ABOVE the folds toward my cheek, so its no wonder I didn’t see results. Lovely made an attempt to make me happy by putting in more filler at the top of the folds towards my nose and initially it looked better but it was just the swelling. To this day I’m frustrated that I spent that much money for nothing. I’m pretty upset about the filler that is left in the corners of my mouth and I believe the filler Teresa put in areas I DIDN’T know she was placing she could have used to actually fill in areas that needed it. I also asked Teresa TWICE on both visits if their office did non-​surgical nose jobs and both times she said no, but if you look on their website they have a video in which one of the staff in Santa Monica is performing a non-​surgical nose job… As much as I liked the staff I don’t think they want to admit that they made a mistake and I know they wouldn’t give me a refund but the least they could have done was to fix it and completely fill in the area I wanted done. In the future I will make sure to be thorough and assertive about what I want.

Love love love this place. I am moving back to Napa, but if you have the opportunity to consult and/​or get anything done here — DO IT!

Lovely, I love you! Thank you for making me feel so at ease during my appointment. I have a big fear of needles, but the injections were so easy. No pain and no bruising during or after my treatment. If you are looking for great bedside manner, knowledge, professionalism, and natural results… look no further. Also, the ladies here are welcoming and warm, which is a bonus. I will be back.

Let me begin by saying this… I wrote a 5 star last year for Skin By Lovely, but sadly, it was lost when I closed my Unilocal account a few months later, so I will begin again.
The 5 stars are well deserved. These women have skill, experience, and an aesthetic eye. Last year I saw Lovely for botox and fillers, and she was as lovely as her name. She was very kind, supportive and skillful, and I loved the natural results. I felt 10 years younger, and received compliments from friends and family.
This time I saw Tita, for a little botox and lip filler, and she was amazing as well. I love her! Such a wonderful presence, very patient, skillful, and easy to talk with. The final results are exactly what I hoped to achieve, and I am so grateful to her. Thank you!
The entire office staff is also the best I have ever worked with and they make me feel welcome and at ease.
The new location is beautiful, calming, and full of natural light… I just love it! It’s also a great bonus that the building has ample private parking.
Skin by Lovely is the best.

I made an appointment here not knowing what to expect as I’m new to this aspect of esthetics. I met Theresa for a consultation and she was great! Made me feel very comfortable and took her time answering all my questions (and I had a lot!!). I also got very detailed pre– and post-​care advice which I found very helpful. Saying I’m pleased with the results would be an understatement. I look happy and refreshed, not scary and frozen, which I had feared! I would definitely feel confident in referring friends here.

I had been wanting to get my lips done for about 2 years. I did a tone of research and came across skin by lovely.
I went in for a consultation and immediately knew this was my place. It was my first experience with any sort of injection. Tereasa was absolutely amazing. My lips turned out exactly the way I wanted. Natural yet full– just in time for my wedding. Between the help of her and Shauna, I feel like my experience was the absolute best it could be. I will defiantly be going back and recommending to friends!

Teresa is the most gentle injector I have ever encountered. I have a serious phobia of needles and especially when they are going into my face, so for me to get any kind of injection gives me serious anxiety. I decided it was time for some enhancement in the cheeks and happened upon Teresa. I have had it before, so I knew it was going to feel like I got punched in the face for a few days after ;) However, Teresa was so careful and so gentle and patient that I escaped with out ANY bruising and very little tenderness after the procedure. She was terrific. If you are hesitant about needles but really want to try injections… go to Teresa.

As a queer woman in Portland you wouldn’t guess I’m the type of person to get Botox or even consider it, as it’s not very accepted in my community.
I found it to be freeing in a way I never expected. It has given me a tremendous amount of personal confidence. Since I first got Botox from Tita over a year ago and started using the Refinement line, I’ve only felt the need to wear mascara. Before that I would put on a concealer every morning and spend some pointless time fixating on my face. It’s been cost saving as well a time saving.
It looks incredibly natural. I completely trust Tita’s less is more approach. I love it and the entire experience that the staff at Skin by Lovely provides!

My husband lost muscle mass where his cheekbones are and deep creases on his face. After much research we decided it was time to do something about it. When we got to the office we were greeted promptly and friendly. Teresa was the Dr. that tended to my husband. Teresa was very friendly, listen to all our concerns, and was very knowledgeable. She recommended procedures that gave my husband the exact results he was looking for. Next will be my turn and I’ll definitely ask for her. Just went here for the first time today. Very clean, very professional and an all around great experience. I could tell the staff really knew what they were doing. The new location is so nice and the staff is so friendly! I was so scared to get just a little bit of filler in my lips and did NOT want to look fave at all. They did such an AMAZING job and it looks so natural! I couldn’t be happier with the work done and even better that the staff was so incredibly nice and accommodating.

I have not only had the pleasure of being treated by several people at Skin by Lovely including Tita, Theresa, Lovely and other injectors that were being trained by Lovely herself; I’ve also been blessed by working with them in the same clinic space. Everyone is fantastic, I miss them dearly. However, I would and do recommend anyone who wants any type of treatment that is offered by them to go there. Getting aesthetic treatment is scary sometimes, but they are so good at what they do and are very professional, skilled and kind. You will look and feel great!

I rarely write reviews but I had to come on Unilocal and share my experience for any of the folks who felt like me– nervous as hell. I am so impressed with Skin By Lovely and Teresa, my injection specialist. I came in for my first ever lip fillers and I was so anxious I wasn’t even sure I’d go through with it. From the first consultation, some of those nerves were put to rest because Teresa allowed me to ask every question I had been worrying about, even the stupid ones. After going through the procedure, I felt so silly for being so scared. It was easier than some dental appointments. What’s really incredible about this place is their follow up. Because I had a little extra swelling on one side, they had me come in a few extra times to be checked and have the product massaged in so that it’s perfect. They will even do a small touch up free of charge so that you are 100% happy. What’s also great about this place is that they are all about natural results and there is absolutely NO pressure or up selling. I was expecting to go in and have to defend the fact that I only wanted my top lip done but that was not at all the case. The front desk staff are also great– very friendly and informative if you call asking questions like I did. Overall, if you’re on the fence about getting a cosmetic procedure– jump on over because SBL has you covered and will take great care of you!

I have been going back and forth to Arizona and always using my plastic surgeon to get my botox until I was recommended to Lovely. Hesitant because you always hear or see horror stories of people being botched I took the recommendation. I was so thrilled she actually did a better job on my injections and the office was wonderful. It is a very professional place and I am very happy with my results. She also has a skin care that I tried samples of and fell in love with. This is a great place to get injections. I have seen not only great results on me but also atlas 5 – 8 people that I am friends with as well. Thank you Lovely !

Skin by Lovely is just simply the best! The office manager Lisa runs an immaculate ship with the highest level of customer service. The providers are on top of their game, providing the most cutting edge advancements in skincare. Every time I visit I learn a new way to turn back time. They also participate in the Brilliant Distinctions program so you can redeem your points towards injectables. Portland is super lucky to have SBL!

I was first hesitant to receive masseter muscle botox here, as it is slightly on more expensive side. ($ 12/​unit).
Bailee recommended 20 units on each side but i was short in money so we went with 15. And she was cool about it.
After 10days, i can see the result really well. I have slightly unbalanced jaw, but it looks like she put the botox in the right places so it looks much balanced now.

Lovely & Bailey are absolutely amazing. I was totally pleased with their work and trusted their advice.
I wanted to try some new products but the receptionist was way too pushy (on several occasions) and patronizing when asking about what products I currently use, so I backed out, but that’s not a big deal and I would come back again to see Lovely.

Today, Lovely pronounced that we are «finished,» at least with the upper face (eyes, cheekbones, etc.). I was prepared for at least one more «major» visit (of course, we have a follow-​up appt in a month to see how things have «settled,» as well as a June appt for one of the maintenance appts. There are two points I want to share today.
One is the way that Lovely pronounced that we are finished, underscoring what I wrote earlier about her not even allowing, let alone pushing me to get unnecessary work done. I trust her implicitly as far as determining the next steps and how much or what to do. The other point that I wanted to mention is that I appreciate the follow-​up appointment in about a month because I know that working with these types of fillers, which contain hyaluronic acid (which occurs naturally in our bodies), requires time for the body to react to the work that’s been done, everything from the needle pokes to the injectable filler itself. The body reacts by doing exactly what we want it to do, the one thing that it has stopped doing naturally over the past decades, which is creating more collagen. Collagen is like a mesh support matrix, which makes our skin plump, firm, and not saggy. In later life, we need an irritant, so to speak, for the body to react to in order to build more collagen. It’s a natural process. So, over time, the collagen also acts like a framework upon which more collagen is created. My face has entered that phase now. I have minor swelling & bruising (by the way, I could BARELY feel the needle pokes and filler) which I’m hesitant to show you in a photo at this time. I’ll keep things updated gets and post more photos soon :-)
