History

Established in 2014.

In early 2014, after nearly two decades in the massage industry, owner Amy Rose opened Sevati Massage in a small studio in the Pearl District. The driving force behind Amy’s ambition to grow the business continues to be to provide a beautiful space, quality service, affordable pricing, and therapists who love working there because they are treated equitably and with respect.

Amy has been a massage therapist since 1997. She has worked in some of Portland’s finest spas as well as with chiropractors, naturopathic doctors, and acupuncturists. In 2014 she was driven to open Sevati Massage as a sanctuary, a space to step away from the stresses of life and rejuvenate ourselves through massage therapy.

Amy strives to build a business founded deeply in respect for the environment, the community, our clients, and the therapists that work there.

I purchased a Groupon and made an appointment 8 weeks in advance. When I showed up (early) no one was there. I waited for 45 minutes and during my wait I left 2 voicemails and sent an email.
Finally got a call back (thankfully) telling me that there was no way they could make it. I appreciated the apology and the call back, but at the end of the day this is a huge inconvenience and is indicative of a very unprofessional and/​or disorganized group. They may be the best at what they do (unconfirmed), but at least be warned that they may be unreliable.

I believe that Teresa might be new to Sevati, but she was incredible. Hands down the best massage I have ever had — and I have had quite a few! From a resort in posh Vail, Colorado, to a quaint spa on Catalina island off the coast of California, and many inbetween… this massage beats them all — by far.
The room was warm, peaceful, and inviting. I showed up and Teresa was ready. I had a 90 minute Swedish massage and I wish it would have lasted 90 more. My body has not felt that relaxed in a long, long time! Teresa did not just work my muscles and relax my body and soul, it was if she was listening to my body as she felt her way along and reacted to what it was telling her through touch. You know how some massages feel like those robotic chairs you can sit in? Not this one. It felt personal and customized to fit where I was at and what my body needed.
Teresa was very professional, but not intimidating or cold.
All in all it was one of, if not THE best massage I have ever had.

I have massages all over the world, and I have to say Amy is a master and could just feel exactly where my spots were that needed work and zero’d in on them like a champion. I have found my regular masseuse! Can’t recommend her enough.

Amy is absolutely wonderful! Had a groupon here, and was a little leery going in– but this one was worth every penny, and I would go back in a heartbeat. She definitely listened to my problem areas, paying them close attention, and delivered on the desired firmness. I would highly recommend this place. Online appointment system is easy to use too.

I left feeling like a million bucks! The atmosphere was very relaxing. The group on deal is amazing, I received it as a gift and could not have been happier. I find that often massage oils are heavily fragrant, and can be distracting, but not here. All aspects were very pleasant.

Scheduling was a breeze — Amy is very accommodating and the online system works great. There’s ample street parking, which is always a plus. The studio is small, but very cozy — candlelight and soft music gives it a great vibe.
In the past, I’ve been uncomfortable during massages because I feel like I don’t know what’s going on — but not with Amy! Amy speaks freely with you throughout to explain what she’s doing, and gives pointed suggestions for helping to ease pain at home. She also integrates both hot and cold treatments and compresses into the massage for a very relaxing result.
Amy has been practicing massage for 17 years, and boy howdy it really shows! I’d definitely recommend Sevati to folks looking for a great service.

I can’t say enough good things about Amy. I started seeing her over a year ago for shoulder pain. Between the massages and conversations with her about lifestyle, I was soon pain free. Every time I go in, we discuss how I’m feeling and what I’m looking for that day. Sometimes it is for specific pain, occasionally it is just for a relaxing massage. She always tailors to what I need and always manages to find the spots that need massaging, even when I’m not aware of them. I signed up for a monthly membership with Amy, and I’m so glad I did.

My husband and I both originally scheduled massages with Amy Rose at her Milwaukie location with a Groupon, and soon after we signed up for monthly memberships. We’re very happy with Amy – she is a true professional. The atmosphere is calming, clean, and comfortable. Amy is experienced and definitely is not just doing the same massage every time. She listens and tailors the massage and technique to whatever issues I’m having that day. I would certainly recommend her to my friends or family.

teresa is an incredibly talented massage therapist, especially for portlanders with active lifestyles! she is intuitive, professional, and experienced. i visit her monthly and she always seems to know exactly what i am in need of during each appointment. she also has a breadth of knowledge about related health topics such as physiology and nutrition, which is an added bonus! the sevati space is simple and welcoming, and i think teresa’s rates are very reasonable, especially for the pearl district. highly recommended!

I was so happy to find a Groupon deal for Sevati when I happen to be just browsing. So lucky that it’s right at the Pearl district near my work. The place has a clean and warm atmosphere. Amy is very kind and gentle. A couple of times I went and my pains disappeared. I highly recommend this place!

I can’t say enough great things about this place. I found it on a Groupon, and those can be so hit or miss. This is one of those treasures. Amy has been doing massage for years, and is incredibly knowledgeable. It is a great location, right in the heart of the Pearl, and parking pretty easy. I love the way it is decorated. No matter what kind of day I have had, the moment I walk into this little sanctuary, I am instantly calm. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
