Sbarro in Pioneer Place is the epitome of convenience. Located in the mall’s food court and in close proximity to light rail, it has pizzeria staples such as pizza, breadsticks, salad and spaghetti with meatballs. They offer plenty of combos. I went here to see if some recent lousy press is justified. The employee at the counter was friendly. I ordered the New York Combo: cheese pizza and a drink. Much to their credit, they have a proper pizza oven. My pizza was somewhat delicious and big, though more tomato sauce would have been nice. It didn’t feel frozen at all. I got it for $ 4.59, though a side would depart me from another two dollars. Sbarro is not per se bad, but Portland does have better. Don’t hesitate to try this pizzeria.

I work in the mall so come here occasionally. The last time I went will probably be my last time ever. The food is OK … Very overpriced though. The employees are awesome! Always so nice to me. But the manager just seems like a witch. Every time I’m there I hear her talking down to employees. I feel bad for them. I’m impressed that the employees can remain so friendly to the customers when they’re having to deal with her. I hope for their sake they get a new a manager. I can handle overpaying, but I won’t support a place that treats their employees like that.

This is probably the most hilarious Sbarro location I’ve ever been to. They upsell so hard when you want just a slice of pizza. One time I went down the line after just wanting a ‘calzone’ and they asked me not once, not twice, not THREE times, but FOURTIMES if I wanted to make it a combo or add any sauces. I am not confrontational but I do have a limit on my buttons being pushed, so I flat out said«No, for the four time, I do not want a combo!!» And yet they still made a point to say«Aww, are you sure?» Also, this location in general just feels like you’re getting attacked by car salesmen. It’s intense. It’s pretty much the butt of the joke if you work downtown — everybody knows they’re desperate here! Oh yeah, about the pizza. It’s super greasy and not great, but it does the job if you’re starving. I would not suggest getting spaghetti or anything else.

Every time I come to this location I get cold pizza and no matter what time I arrive the bar part of the restaurant is closed. Very bizarre experience every time… I won’t be coming back again– SVJ

When I get to work and I might be a little hung over from the previous night(which happens from time to time), I’m already thinking about the perfect cure — sbarro’s deep dish. Soaks up and remaining offensive liquids and has enough grease to keep me going the rest of the afternoon. makes me proud to be an american
