Yay for a change! My son has the cutest curls(I’m his mom, so I can say that) anyways 1 year of no haircuts ment it was time for a change when he turned the big 4! I was very worried and ready to shed some tears, but my experience at rudys made it all okay! Our barber knew exactly how to work with kids and listened to my every command! I was specific on what look I wanted and she did an awesome job getting us there! 5 stars to you all, I’ve never left Rudy’s with an unsatisfied hair cut and top notch customer service! It’s worth every penny to know that your barber knows what they are doing and love doing it! I’ve made mistakes in the past going to other salons and paying more/less but I keep coming back to Rudys!

This was my first time at Rudy’s Barbershop, and they did a phenomenal job! Michael was my stylist and he was on point. He took time, care, and precision with my hair and gave me exactly what I wanted. They are walk in friendly, and I walked in, flashed them a quick picture of the hairstyle and color I wanted, and just like that they made it happen. Other barbershops have fussed before when I asked for something long on top with a clean cut buzz in the sides with a 1 guard. Or been hesitant, or disapproved. Not so with the gang at Rudy’s! They totally got on board with my slightly edgy yet still professional look with enthusiasm, and we’re excited with how it turned out, no questions asked or hesitations. These guys are pros, and Michael is a scissor wizard. I am definitely coming back again.

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in on a Saturday and they were able to see me. Will have me the perfect amount of layers, and helped me figure out my bang situation. I will defiantly be back when it’s time for a trim.

I was feeling brave and decided this was the weekend for the short short pixie. After getting a recommendation from someone telling me that Roxanne was the queen of the pixie, I dove in. This is probably my favorite haircut ever. Roxanne gave me exactly what I asked for and walked me through(and asked for feedback) every step of the way. I couldn’t be happier, and will definitely be going back again and again.

Geino was fantastic! Did an amazing all over color, root touch up, and beautiful styling afterwards! He really goes the extra mile making you feel special and pampered! Great conversation, wonderful environment and location. The products they use are excellent and my hair and scalp felt fantastic for days afterwards as well. Geino is definitely a gem in this city and has found a great spot to call home! I recommend Geino and Rudy’s to all my family and friends

Gosh! If I could give Rudy’s 20 stars I would! Life isn’t perfect but your hair can be with the help of Geino at Rudys Barbershop on Division. Everyone has hair goals or admires girls that have the guts to do something outrageous or unique with their hair. Geino has helped me accomplish my hair goals and given me the confidence to go with it. I’m actually licensed for hair so you could say I’m pain in the ass when it comes to someone doing my hair. I no longer have to worry. Geino has exceeded my expectation every time and the styles I ask for aren’t anything for a plain Jane. I had been coloring my hair black for years until I finally decided i wanted to have some fun and go full on silver! Most stylist wouldn’t even dare to do that task because black is the hardest color to leave. Especially when you’re trying to accomplish something that’s so light. Black is a level 1. In order to be silver I need to lighten my hair all the way to a level 10! It’s risky business to lighten your hair so drastically in a short period of time but he did it! Mind you! My hair is still silky and soft and I can’t leave the house without out people going out of there way to tell me how fabulous my hair is. Geino’s is the best hair dresser I have ever encountered. There’s literally nothing he can’t do. I swear whine your not Looking he whips out a magic wand and does the in imaginable! Truly a miracle worker and a delight to be around. I look forward to visiting him every month. He treats me like a princess, always smiling, and amazing energy. The atmosphere of the salon is similar to bishops but more retro and fun. Don’t hesitate! Book today with Geino. Life’s too short for boring hair. It’s time to add some color to your life

Still loyal to Rudy’s on Division. Lucy is managing to keep the process of growing out my super short cut from being awkward. She’s awesome with color, too, keeping the front of my hair a rich blue that holds up beautifully without much work on my end. Lucy’s been in charge of my hair for close to a year now and I couldn’t be happier.

Walk ins 7 days a week. I have been coming to Rudy’s for over 8 yrs… And am on my 3rd stylist. However, I have had 3 great stylists! I’m grateful for the artistic freedom each one has shown along with the confidence each bring with live for their work. I have never had any problems. My 8 yr old son also gets his hair cuts here, and though children can prove challenging; these stylist rise to the occasion!

I was having a bad day with my beard and decided I needed a change. I walked in at 8:30 pm Wednesday and was seated with vanessa within 5 minutes. She wisely talked me off the ledge and trimmed my overgrown thicket of face hair down to a goatee that fits my face quite well. It was trimmed down 24 hours ago and I have already gotten numerous compliments on the new look. Thanks Rudy’s and Vanessa

I was in Portland for the day(I like to do that occasionally) and wanted an authentic barber shop experience. I just dropped in, and after about an hour(I was able to go walk around and look into some shops) I was able to be seen by Carissa! She did a great job of listening and asking what I wanted; was cheery and talkative; just a very friendly and outgoing personality with style. I love the old-fashioned barber chairs and atmosphere. The only thing missing is the hot towels and razor-shave! :) Overall a great experience. I’ll go see Carissa again sometime I’m in town. Thanks for a nice cut and experience.

Lucy gave a great cut to my moppy head! She was supper cool, friendly, and worked with my questions while treying to figure out what i wanted. as a guy, i hate getting my haircut, but Lucy made me feel really relaxed. Also, the place is a really cool spot to hang out and people watch, love the big doors!

Please come to San Francisco, Rudy’s. You are the best. I don’t know why people in Portland bother with Bishop’s, which is attempting to be Rudy’s, but is failing massively. This location on SE Division is just really cool — from the interiors, to the staff, to the work they do. I came in just for a trim and since I’m still trying to grow my hair longer, my stylist did precise point-cuts along my hair so that only the damage was removed. She was really easy to talk to, recommended salons in San Francisco for me, and suggested a product for me to use in a non-threatening way. If you need a $ 29 haircut in Portland, come here. Stay the f*ck away from Bishops.

I was honestly kind of nervous about the fact that I had to find a new person to cut my hair, as my usual person is moving out of Portland. I’m a former hairstylist, and you’d think that would make things easier, since I know exactly how to describe what I want, and can even go so far as to give instructions on how to do the cut if needed. However, I have found that actually makes it harder, either intimidating or annoying the stylist. I picked Rudy’s based on positive Unilocal reviews, called ahead for a same day appointment, and was told that Misti would be a good person to help me out. I have a very short pixie cut that should, in theory, be very easy, but my hair is stupidly difficult to work with, and again, I am picky… I just want someone to cut it the way I would cut it if I could do the whole thing myself. Misti did a great job! I am 100% happy with my haircut. She listened to what I wanted carefully, and then provided honest feedback about how and where she would use slightly different techniques to achieve what I wanted. Which made me a *tiny* bit nervous for a minute, but very quickly I could see it was looking great, and I relaxed and let her do her thing. There is this one section on my head that is especially impossible to cut properly, and she actually did the best job anyone has ever done with that area. Even better than me, haha. I know from being in the industry that the«hipster barbershop» model(of which there are numerous chains) can be hit or miss, and a lot of them have a high stylist turnover rate… the quality of your haircut will REALLY depend on the stylist you get. However, they do fill a void. They are cheaper than high end, full service type salons, but they are more versatile and trendy than a ‘traditional’ barbershop, and also far more prepared to serve female customers. Don’t expect to be pampered at a place like this, but if you’re like me and you couldn’t care less about that, you should check it out! I thought the atmosphere in Rudy’s was cool and I saw a lot of people getting good haircuts. I like that they take appointments too, because I like to pre-book my next haircut. The receptionist was also nice. I felt like $ 29 bucks was a very fair price for this haircut. I don’t like to pay $ 50−70+ for my hair, because I literally get the exact same haircut every 4 weeks like clockwork, and my haircut never takes anyone more than 20 – 30 minutes once they get used to doing it. I paid, left a good tip, and pre-booked my next appointment. Very happy. I’ll be back every 4 weeks. Like clockwork.

I’ve always had a positive experience here, and this has always been my go-to hair salon. Izzy cut my hair this time around and she listened to me and did exactly what I asked for. It’s one of the most flattering by cuts I’ve ever had, yet so very simple. I will definitely be returning and asking for her by name if she is available.

Great place for a cut. I don’t have a special stylist, since I just get a buzz. But they are all very competent, friendly, and you get a free rinse which is nice.

Izzy is the cut-mistress I’ve been looking for my whole life. Issues/challenges with my thick wave-curl prone hair have been tamed after years of wandering the hair management desert. Not only that, but she recommended a hair crème that’s been the first product to keep my hair from becoming a puffball while not also turning it into a plasticine skullcap better suited to an action figure. Izzy you’re awesome and thank you for the professional guidance. Now only if you could be my life coach, I would have all else tamed. One star off until Rudy’s management gets their new systems in order so that my reservation doesn’t get lost.
