reFRESH is your neighborhood destination. Locally owned and operated, we strive to highlight Oregon’s bounty, focusing on small batch artisanal food. We source pre-​dominently from local farms and vendors, with the intent to support local commerce, reduce our carbon footprint, and foster relationships within our community.

Daily menu offerings include gourmet coffee, fresh made-​to-​order sandwiches, pastries and bagels, charcuterie, cheese, as well as local beer, and wine. We are proud to partner with Water Ave Coffee, Pearl Bakery, S&P Provisions, Sunshine Dairy, Rogue Creamery as well as numerous other NW based farms and purveyors.

History

Established in 2015.

reFRESH opened July 1, 2015. We’re thrilled to be part of the Creston Kenilworth neighborhood and look forward to serving the Portland community!

reFRESH café is a fun, modern café. They serve Water Avenue coffee, which is really good, but they only ever use the espresso roast for their brewed coffee and their espresso beverages. I like more variety. The employees are usually really friendly, but the coffee doesn’t blow me away. Can be hit or miss, but they’re pretty quick.

friendly service, good sandwich, good (not amazing) latte, cheerful place to sit with big open windows. they serve Water St. Coffee. a lovely place to have lunch or coffee in the area– prices aren’t dirt cheap for a café but not overpriced either and servings were good sized. nice to see places like this popping up in the neighborhood!

Refresh, I’m sorry for doubting you. You are a welcome addition to the neighborhood. After my initial review, I was contacted by the owners who were sincere and kind, and I decided to give them another shot. They have since proved themselves a more than worthy coffee and pastry shop, and I appreciate having a close spot to enjoy a glass of wine. The coffee is good and strong, and if you’re ever in the mood for something sweet, their cookies are crazy good

A darling café! Candlelit porch, a delicious wine menu and the perfect atmosphere for good conversation. We ordered wine, charcuterie and cheeses. Everything we tasted was wonderful and locally sourced! We will return!

Brilliant wine and cheese pairings. .. Service was good too, although they were a bit stingy on the pours. .. But hopefully that will get better with time as they get more established and can afford to pour a bit more. Great appetzer warm up if you are waiting for sushi next door.

ReFRESH is the kind of neighborhood gem that make it easy to be a regular.
Nestled on a quiet section of Gladstone, it adds a minimalist modern element to the street, with a very friendly and open vibe. Just dropped the little ones off at school? Head to ReFRESH for a cappuccino and a fresh pastry. Need a space to work or meet a client? ReFRESH can accommodate you. Low-​key happy hour after yoga or softball practice? Enjoy the excellent wine and beer list and cheese/​charcuterie at Happy Hour. The menu has something for both kids and adults, from yummy sandwiches to salads, and indoor or outdoor seating, in case you bring your fur-​kid along. You can feel good about it too, as everything on their menu is locally sourced. Check out their wine-​tasting events on their Facebook page — not to be missed.
It’s also a wonderful space to hold your private event.
I always have a great time there and never feel rushed or crowded — and that’s very ReFRESHing!

Great coffee, a variety of pastries, Bowery Bagel breakfast sandwiches, a nice and simple selection of sandwiches on ciabatta for lunch, and they also serve beer and wine. Yes, this great neighborhood coffee shop also has HAPPY HOUR (complete with cheese and charcuterie selections) Monday-​Friday 4−7pm. I’ve been here half a dozen times for breakfast/​coffee/​lunch and the staff and owners have always been awesome. Great outdoor seating in front and on the side. Clean, consistent, and they even have kids menu (grilled cheese/pb&J).
Great place to meet a friend or sit down and get some work done on your own.

Great addition to the neighborhood! The cheese plate was excellent with generous portions of local cheeses. Staff was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. The menu options are carefully sourced and reasonably priced and I can’t wait to return and try their sandwiches and coffee. Also a great place to chill with a glass of wine while waiting for a table at Yoko’s!

As a recent transplant to the neighborhood, and something of a coffee snob, I was excited to see this place open, along with another couple of new restaurants, to complement the ubiquitous and very welcome dive bars on the block.
The coffee (from water ave) did not disappoint, and their bagels (bowery) and sandwiches are delicious and fair value for the price. There’s beer and wine too, though I haven’t tried that yet.
Super happy to have a quality, dog– and laptop-​friendly coffee joint with wifi, good music, and all the usual things (plus outdoor seating) within walking distance.

A real gem had been added to the Creston-​Kenilworth neighborhood in SE Portland. Love the reclaimed wood counter and roll up glass garage door.
This is professional coffee folks, not the average Starbucks imitation! They source their coffee (Water Avenue), pastries (Pearl Bakery), bagels (Bowery), beer and wine locally and serve paninis and cheese plates as well.
A must try and repeat!

I like the place its kid and dog friendly, relaxed and hip. Everything local — including the Horseradish on the roast beef sandwich. Food is a noticeably better than you average café, local cheese, local meats and Pearl Bakery breads — sandwich and salad averages out about $ 8. They said I can buy Breakside and Oxidental bottles to go! It’s going to be my go to for casual lunch or light dinner. Nice outdoor seating in the shade.
