After arriving in my friend’s neighborhood earlier than my intended time, I saw a rack outside full of clothes and a sign saying $ 5 on it. I most certainly had to stop and browse. Reflections in Time is a tiny thrift store writing itself off as a vintage place. This isn’t strictly vintage clothing you’ll find here but I guess nowadays anything that was made from the ’90’s on is considered vintage and cool and expensive. When I walked in I had to step over two dogs sleeping in front of the door. There were three men chatting on the sidewalk but I didn’t think anything of them. Neighborhood folks enjoying the sun and conversation. If you don’t like searching through piles of clothes, Reflections In Time is not for you. I am a thrift store queen therefore I have no qualms going through an enormous amount of clothes until I find something I like. I went through the huge rack of dresses and found a few cute ones. I took them with me as I noticed an upstairs with women’s clothes. After more searching I didn’t find anything I wanted. I still had my choice dresses in my hands but could not find a dressing room. Whoever ran the store still hadn’t come in and approached me so I decided to make my own dressing room. I pull off my top and started trying dresses on in the middle of the upstairs portion. After about ten minutes I hear some rumbling behind me. Finally I hear a «Finding everything all right?» as I am unzipping a dress to take it off. We chat a bit about the garment. It was a cute black dress that fit me on top but wouldn’t fit me properly from the waist down. He said he understood because it fits the same way on him. I’m putting back my top on and he comments on my back tattoo. Our conversation then becomes about the high price of tattoos. He suggests a few other clothing choices but they weren’t my style. I did, however, decide on one cute dress which would be perfect to wear for my birthday party. I check out and it was only $ 16. I love tax free shopping! I leave and the employee tells me to come back again and I told him I would. I fully intend on keeping that promise.

This place is a mess! If you want to find something good you’ll have to search through a lot of stuff, and sometimes you’ll have to look through unfolded clothes. When I’m shopping I hate looking through clothes as if I was in some trash bin. They also have a good collection of belt buckle and audio cassette tape.
