Reach Community Development

Reach Community Development is a slumlord. They are a nest of bad neighbors and bad managers. I rented from one of their «scattered sites,» had a harassing, bullying neighbor who made terrible noises at me when I was outside. He scared my cat, and played his stereo very loud whenever I had guests. The managers threatened to kick him out, said they gave him a 30 days notice to change his behavior. But then didn’t kick him out even though I wrote a formal letter to the managers that his behavior had not gotten any better. Then threatened to kick me out for complaining. The manager knew of this guy’s behavior, because when she was new, he bullied her, too. She told me that, and still would not protect me from this man who openly claimed he’d spent years at San Quentin. The grounds were filthy, and there were old bike frames, old furniture, and garbage around the cans. Reach puts on a good front, gets good press as a «do good» non-​profit, and can fool potential tenants into thinking they will be treated well — which they are not. Avoid Reach like the plague.
