I bought an arepa rellena at their food cart. The veggie filling was delicious — creamy and dominated by cooked carrots and cauliflower. I am not such a fan of the thin, crispy arepas; I like ‘em fatter and fluffier. But for what it was, it was fine.

A little pricey. But really authentic food. Probably the best that side of town has to offer. If you are Colombian is by no means going to meet your expectations. If you aren’t very critical of Colombian food go ahead and take some time and check it out. I recommend the mango smoothie and the empanadas.

This store has a marvelous command of baking principles. Such bakery as this one in particular tends to make empanadas and cheese bread. As part of the Portland Mercado collection of Latin American eateries, items are inexpensive, seating both indoors and outdoors is plentiful and friends can go to a different eatery if this isn’t their cup of tea. It was for a memorable lunch that I went to when I went here. The empanadas at $ 2.50 each and cheese bread at two dollars each were wonderful. The meat, seasoning and bread in my pork empanada was that good puff pastry heard around the world, in many cuisines. My meat was tender and sweet with the breading likewise being crispy. The cheese bread was also authentic. They offer some of their products frozen as well, and they both have an indoor storefront and and outdoor cart. If only this were behind the cases at the supermarket.

We had the empanadas, no disappointment there, as for«main Dish» we went for the Bandeja Paisa… Not exactly a winner, for those who don’t know it, a typical Bandeja paisa never, never includes shredded chicken, hey guys it is «carne Molina»(Ground beef). The red beens side dish was cold and could it have been tastier, no yuca please, remember it’s «Platano». Three stars for now, hopefully the owners will pay more attention to the little details that make people come back for more good food. Keep improving.

Que Bocano means«very cool,» and the food is happening here! I had 4 plaintain patacones with pork, a sort of thick delicious taco-y disc with a generous heap of puerco on each. The cabbage salad and accompanying mole were perfect. Way cool in fact! Try the fresh mango drink, not too sweet and totally propped me up on a bleak wet cold day.

Wow! I had the empanadas and I’ll be back to eat more of the menu. Out of all the food carts, this one is one of the most popular. The people that work there are very friendly. See you very soon. If it’s too cold for you sitting outside, there’s inside seating in the Mercado.

What a great experience at Que Bacano! The food was simply awesome! Tasteful and warm as I like. I’ve never being in Colombia but I think this is the closest we can get. The favorite part was the dessert. I promise you haven’t tried something like it yet. The name is «TRESLECHES» but nothing related to the Mexican cake. This is a totally different gourmet dessert, with mixed flavors and texture. Excellent!!!

We drove 30 min to find this Colombian food cart and we weren’t disappointed! Lots of options but narrowed it down to Beef empanadas– if your Colombian you know beef is the way to go! They were filled with lots of meat and potatoes and had great flavor! I also went for the«choriarepa” — Colombian chorizo with aprepa– oh this was very tasty! Was like eating at abuelitas house! Topped it off with a Colombian soda– manzana postobon. Recommend the drive it is well with it when you feeling like some authentic Colombian!

I just finished the Picada with a guava fruit drink. I gotta give this place 2 stars for both taste and value. The Picada was $ 12.25 and included beef, chicken, sausage, potatoes, plantains on a bed of cabbage. The meat was okay, but the beef and sausage were very dry. There was some sort of salsa looking sauce on some of the beef strips, but it didn’t have much of a taste. The guava drink was $ 3.75 and consisted of a sweetened guava juice/purée about an inch high, and the rest was some sort of frothy cream. So basically I bought a $ 4 cup of air. Two stars because it wasn’t necessarily bad, and the cashier was nice, but I wouldn’t spend $ 16 on this meal again.

¡¡¡Que comida tan sabrosa!!! I had the Patacones(fried plantain topped with shredded chicken & a yummy Columbian sauce). Wow I’ve I been missing out not eating plantains this way… My mom had the empanadas(corn fritters filled with meat) & this too was fantastic. Wash this down w/a refreshing passion fruit beverage & life is good. I’m from Venezuela so I can honestly vouch for this cart!

Absolutely amazing food! There was more than plenty to eat. We were at a school function that they catered at. The variety that was brought was more than satisfactory. Everyone seemed pleased at the selection available and were full upon leaving. One item in particular that I enjoyed was the cantelope drink. Very different, but super yummy! Everything we tried was great and the people were extremely pleasant.
