Description

Specialties

Established in 2003, Portland Support is a veteran run brick and mortor computer repair business operating in West Slop (between Beaverton and Portland). The business is staffed by «Dave and Grant», two friends who have a combined 50 years experience working with computers and electronics. While the business began by focusing on assisting seniors with computer issues, we are now proud to have over 4000 customers from every walk of life. We still perform mobile appointments for both computer repair and training.

Our passion for fixing computers is only exceded by our commitment to serving our community. We employ «old school» customer service skills (like Mom and Pop!) and always provide free diangnostics.

We service all computers and laptops, including Apple Macintosh.

What makes Portland Support your best choice for computer assistance? Simply pick up the phone and call us to discover what we can offer and how we deliver!

History

Established in 2003.

Established in 2003 by CEO Grant C. Lansing, Mobile PC Services Incorporated provides computer support and training both at our brick and mortar repair shop and via mobile appointments. Once the repir shop was opened, we purchased the business name «Portland Support» to better define our services.

Portland Support has two staff members — Grant Lansing and David Fuller, who through their 20 year friendship have worked together in the corporate IT world. Frustarted by the lack of genuine customer service, Grant was one day challenged by his corporate boss. «If you think you can do a better job, you should». Grant incorporated Mobile PC Services and began serving clients by way of mobile appointments. Two years later the business was moved out of Grant’s bedroom closet and into a brick and mortar establishment.

David Fuller joined the company two years later, bringing with him a skill level that allowed us to expand our services.

Grant L.

Business Owner

Grant Lansing has been involved with computers ever since grade school, when he took a field trip to CalTech and learned the vast potential of computer programming. He knew his potential when he successfully configured the Lake Oswego High School math room computer to access «unaccessible» areas of OMSI’s bulletin board system… how was «Hangman» teaching us anything about computers anyway?

Before the World Wide Web was computer bulletin board systems, otherwise known as BBS’s. Grant Lansing was a systems operator for Portland’s largest chat BBS — The Heartbeat Of Portland, owned and operated by the infamous Bernie Richards (Cuda). During his tenure with Heartbeat of Portland he began building, repairing, and teaching computers to those requiring his services.

Grant went on to serve as a Technical Support Supervisor and finally landing a gig traveling the world as a Senior Systems Engineer. After 911 he returned to Portland and incorporated the company.
