Good food and good price.
I got the drunken noodle. Delicious but unexpectedly spicer than I thought would be.
Friendly workers. Got chatted up by an older lady who asked about how our meal was and if anything could be better and that they care about how everything taste for the customer. Also went on to ask about how we discovered the place. Lastly talked good about the mango dessert they offer.
Ant problem. Sat inside while waiting for the food to see ants crawling over the table. (Reason why I’m not giving 5 stars)

Do not judge a book by its cover. This place is great. We still drive from Vancouver passing many decent Thai places to go here. Pra Ram, yellow curry, pad Thai. All great. Like being invited home for dinner.

I ordered this food delivered to my hotel room, a reasonable price of two dollars. The soup was great,. I had two other entries that tasted great. This place is reasonably priced.

It’s good food but the delivery is completely inconsistent and dining in a restaurant that lacks cleaning and only has seating for 6 is undesirable. For the first few times the experience was good but 2 out of the 6 deliveries took over 1 hour and I could have gone to another restaurant and been back to work in that time.

Out of the way but This place is the bomb! Don’t let the outside fool you… Definitely best Thai in Portland

Maybe we came on a bad day, taste was mediocre and portion sizes were small (even for the large size).

I order phở from pon thai today and it was bad the lady on the phone had bad customer service and when the food came they only give you 3 little piece of meat so I don’t know if they don’t understand what go’s into phở but it’s more then 3 pieces of meat. Please learn how to make the real stuff

Ordered chicken satay w/​peanut sauce and the cashew chicken. I’ve had Thai often throughout the Pac NW and this place satisfies! My only slight issue was not a lot of chicken in the cashew chicken, but it was tasty! No frills and very little seating, but the perfect to go place if your looking for some quick take out.

This is a tiny little «hole in the wall» but they truly have the Thai food in all of PDX, it’s so good we order at least 3 – 4 times a month. The food is very reasonably priced, very fresh, and always consistent.
We always pick up our food, but for the people complaining about delivery it’s a whole $ 2…what restaurant delivers for $ 2? It’s a great deal so these people are just complaining to complain.
If you’re looking for a high end sit-​in restaurant go elsewhere, if you like great Thai food then be sure to stop at Pon Thai.

Our review is only for take out. We’ve ordered here many times, and maybe our order has gotten mixed up once. Always a good attitude when we call to make our order. The delivery guy is polite and is pretty exact about how long it’ll take. Especially when we live on an island with that is not easy to get on and off during traffic hours.
As for the food, it’s good. We’ve always been satisfied with everything we’ve gotten. Good portions and nicely seasoned. They’ll always be our go-​to for Thai take out.

The delivery guy, Doubled charged from my husbands bank and now we have to wait 3 – 5 business days for the erroneous charge to fall off.
simple white rice, Pad Thai and salad roll delivery only had 2 items.
Delivery had NO Rice, NO Napkins, NO Chopsticks, NO lime and We asked for all that explicitly.
Charging us for the rice and not delivering it. The delivery guy was in a rush and didn’t want to hear my husbands concerns, even though he got his 15% tip. Then after calling the store and speaking with the owner. she laughed over the phone and said stuff happens, then she said in between the laughter, I don’t know what to tell you.
We will NEVER cast a shadow in that doorway again and NEVER EVER eat there or let others that I know support this type of business, NOT understanding, it is because of us, the patrons, that keep putting money in their bank account and keeping their business open. See how long anyone stays in business without having empathetic social skills. and just doing something simple like, giving the customer what they paid for.

What a great find! Tasty Thai food, fresh ingredients, very cheap & they deliver!!! I’m from Australia and we have lots of Asian delivery, so I was very happy to find this place! Make sure you ask for the specials. Pumpkin curry with beef is great! Ask for the spice level. The first time I got food I forgot to ask so it wasn’t hot. So the next time I made sure to ask for hot! It was like a «Party in my mouth with the roof on fire!!!» Was bloody good eatn’ I tell ya!!!
You can order a very big meal for two for under $ 30

The food was really yummy really fresh — we watched her cut all the veggies and all the food to go in our meals. we felt like we were sitting right there in her kitchen as she made every dish. It did take us over an hour to get our food. So if you are not in a hurry and can wait for your food then this is the place. With Saying that, it is literally her and another person running this place so I kind of feel bad giving her 4 stars. But… That is why I have it at 4 stars only because of the wait. The food is 5 stars! The food was really good.

We couldn’t believe how fresh. Some of the best fried rice we have ever had.

This Thai dive gets 5 stars for their food. My go toos: Garlic and Black pepper chicken, fried squid, pad thai, Tom yum soup, fried rice, larb and curries. Everything here is bold in flavor and I can’t say that I don’t like something on the menu because everything is pretty good. Also, the place is family run and are ALWAYS kind. They also deliver for $ 2. This place is great comfort food, I eat here at least once a week. Slow down when you are approaching the parking lot (gravel lot) comes quick if you are driving too fast.

Great mediocre quality Thai food. They’re fast, kind, and efficient.
I wouldn’t recommend this unless you are needing a fast meal. So many other great Thai places around…
However, if you’re in need for some quick and hot food, this is a good stop.
You can always ask for low salt/​low oil. It makes for a happier digestive system~

Pon Thai was a lifesaver!!! Stayed at a near by hotel and have a handicap that limits my mobility. They delivered to my room in 20 mins. Phở was delicious, potstickers amazing, and great chicken veggie dish. I recommend this place for great take out food, even though I’ve never visited the actual restaurant.

Happened to come here after passing up Portland for dinner. I figured, the reviews are good, let’s go!
We get there and it’s a TINY place. 2 tables that sit 4 each and seating outside. The problem is, they sit on the side of a busy road with cars zooming by. If you happen to come and both tables are taken, you can sit outside, with the spiderwebs and dust from their parking lot wafting over you. I was skeptical when we arrived but thought, okay, in the city, the whole in the wall restaurants are the best. Let’s give this place a shot, the reviews are good. Soooo misleading. Their pad see ew noodles were SO DRY, you could equate them to chips. Curry was okay. And there’s ants everywhere. I’m sure I ate some in my food. Don’t come unless you’re ordering take out and are okay with a little bug protein.

Great spot for a quick bite of delicious food! We stopped here to grab dinner while driving down I5 and couldn’t have been happier. It was cheap and delicious and had outdoor seating so the dog could sit with us. We got Tom ka gai, pad Thai, and Panang Curry, and all three were as good as most more expensive restraunts we go to; though the Panang was a little sweet for our preference. There was nothing fancy with the ingredients, but the flavoring was done so well, you don’t even notice. They are definitely oriented towards takeout/​delivery but don’t let that scare you off!

I ordered the Pad Thai and it was great. I asked for very spicy and they made it 10 stars. I also had the salad rolls and they were great too. The Thai iced tea was very refreshing. It didn’t look like much, but the restaraunt is amazing! I definitely recommend coming here! !

WE LOVE Pon Thai! We order delivery from them at least once a week, and have been doing so for the last 5 or 6 months. With the exception of one occasion (a Friday at 6pm) they have always delivered our food within 15 minutes.
They are prompt, kind, cordial and delicious. Not to mention, a great deal! Every entrée is around 7 dollars — and in my experience, most thai restaurants run around 9 per entrée.
Our favorites that we order again and again are: Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Garlic & Pepper Tofu (or meat of your choice), and Spicy Basil Tofu (or meat of your choice).

Friday night? They’ll tell you «soon» at first, then after an hour they’ll tell you «15 minutes.» Ashamed to admit I actually waited that long. Food MAY be ok, never got to try it, but unless you’re into waiting an hour and a half on Friday night, try somewhere else.

Found this little jem on a side of a road the last place I would’ve thought to find a Thai restaurant. Tiny, outdated, but extremely fast and delicious. A must try.

I called at 7:55 and they closed at 8:00 PM was very cordial and accomadating and delivered… great customer service and food is AWESOME

Read the reviews and needed to feed my family… Stopped by, was a little startling at first glimpse. We went in anyway and was blown away that everything that was going on was being done by TWO people! We saw 2 pickup, 3 deliveries and 1 dine in while waiting for our food and it still only took 25 minutes for us to get our food. ONE WOMAN WAS COOKING! She SLAMMED OUT THE FOOD SO FAST!
Once we took our first bites… It was over! I was mesmerized by the explosion of authentic flavors! Everything was homemade and to die for.

My boyfriend and I have eaten here twice so far, and have enjoyed the service and food very much! We live down the street and have driven by this small restaurant many times. I’ve always been tempted to try it out as there aren’t really any Asian restaurants in the area.
It’s a open view kitchen and two small tables and I find it so cozy and homey! I adore small family run restaurants like these because I’ve grown up in a Asian dominated city with dozens of simiilar family run restaurants, and it’s comforting for me to have home cooked food in a humble place. I feel like I’m sitting back at home with my mother cooking in the kitchen, and it makes me happy. It’s not a fancy looking restaurant at all, but the food is fresh and tasty. They have a mini fridge you get to choose your beverages from– I got coconut juice!
We both ordered phở noodle soup, and you get to choose whether you wanted chicken, beef, or shrimp. You can grab extra sauces from their condiment bar too. We later ordered delivery the next week and got cream cheese crab rolls, phở, and drunken noodles! Delivery was quick. Service is wonderful. Food is delicious! We’ll be back for more!
