Pet Barn

I was in the market for a new harness and my neighbor suggested i stop by the Pet Barn. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me pick out the right one for my dog and fitted it. I bought some treats and will stop by again when i am low on dog food.
The store is in the same shopping center as Bales, around the side.

Love Pet Barn. It feels like a small town store where you have a connection with the people working there. They’re super helpful finding supplies and will special order if they don’t keep a particular product in stock. We keep two German Shorthaired Pointers, one bunny, indoor fish and a koi pond all well taken care of shopping with them. Very happy to have them in the community.

Compassionate, knowledgable staff that know their products and pets incredibly well. They are very conscious about everything they sell and support.
They sponsor cats through Columbia Humane Society and host them in their adoption pen with love and exceptional care until they get adopted– however long that might take.
They have taken care of numerous numbers of my ex-​foster kittens as they’re waiting to find their forever homes so they don’t have to sit in the small overcrowded shelter. I always know I can trust them to care and love these scared little buggers better than any other group of people. Good people all around, and the best little pet supply store you could choose to support.

We don’t just love Pet Barn because it’s our neighborhood pet store, we love it because everyone who works there REALLY knows the products. They’ve helped us through cat and dog allergies, adoption/​fostering problems and a few health issues. I can’t say enough positive things about this store. We’ve been going to pet barn for 3+ years and have never had a problem! :-)

I’ve been meaning to thank the helpful staff at Pet Barn for helping me pick out cat food that meets the specific health requirements of my lil’ guy.
See, our young cat developed a serious urinary problem where male cats are unable to pass crystals formed by mineral buildup. Our veterinarian’s solution to our cat’s issue was, of course, to recommend an expensive prescription diet available at their office.
The cat recovered and was fine, but I was unsettled by the ingredient list in his new food. This particular prescription food relies on a high dose of sodium to make a cat thirsty and force them to drink more water so they will pass minerals more easily.
So I started doing a little research. Cats, by their very nature, don’t eat much grains, nor do they drink a lot of water as a result. Unfortunately, mass-​market cat kibble is chock full of grains – even some of the «natural» stuff.
It makes absolutely no sense that the very thing that caused the root problem for my cat – grain – was now a prominent ingredient in the vet-​issued food that was supposed to help him.
Never did our vet tell us any of this.
I decided to say no to feeding my cat high-​calorie, high-​sodium, wheat-​based food that would inevitably surface other health issues for him later in life.
Upon the advice of a friend, I checked out Pet Barn. She said they were super helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to a more holistic approach to pet health.
The gentlemen that helped me that first visit knew exactly what health issue my cat had and sympathized with my concerns. They helped me pick out a grain free dry food and low phosphorus wet food with ingredients that I can feel good about giving to my little guy.
It’s been over a year now since I have been going to Pet Barn. My cat hasn’t had any issues whatsoever after transitioning him off of the prescription food.
When I went to a major chain pet store before going to Pet Barn, they had no idea what I was talking about and didn’t seem to understand my concerns about grains in pet food.
The point is, Pet Barn gets it. It is obvious that they truly love and care about pets the way we, their families, do.

I’ve been going to Pet Barn for all my cat food and wild bird seed needs for years. I love the range of products especially the cat litters which have much less dust and tracking than those available in grocery stores. The owner is very personable and helpful as are the entire staff. Nice place to see the adoptable kittens too from Columbia county humane society.

Over-​all a good place. I’ve had some good service and some not so good service. I like most of their choices in food and treats. I also like that they have frequent buyer cards.

A fan — local and very helpful. They give you honest, knowledgeable advice. Great selection of quality products.

I, too, was a loyal customer of «Pet Barn», before Jeff moved his store and renamed it «The Muttley Crew». I was always pleased with the service at Pet Barn, but now that Jeff has his own store, he only carries the best in pet food and toys and his staff is very experienced.

I’ve been going to Pet Barn for 6+ years, ever since we first got our dogs. We’ve been very satisfied with the knowledgeable staff, great selection of products, and great return policy. We are quite loyal customers to the grooming salon that use to be here, so much that we followed them when they opened up Muttley Crew.
If you’re looking for a small, privately owned, neighborhood pet store (ahem, proper storage of dog food/​aka not Petco), then this is the place!

I have a 2 yr old whippet who has special dietary needs and the Pet Barn has a great selection of natural and healthy dog foods. After the whole tainted cat/​dog food scare from China, we wanted to give our dog something that is produced here in the US and that is what led us to Pet Barn. You pay a little more but we don’t have kids and our dog is all we have so we spoil him and try to keep him as healthy as can be. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and the 2 cats that hang out in the store are super cute. Pets are welcome!
