Ordered pizza the other night and apparently I missed the driver the first time(was in the bathroom). When I called to find out where my pizza was, they explained that they had tried to come to my house but nobody answered the door or phone(verified by phone records). Without being asked to they offered to remake my pizza and deliver it to me. Pizza arrived in approximately 20minutes and was delicious as usual. Highly impressed with their customer service and efficiency.

They were very friendly on the phone when ordering. Pizza came quickly and tasted great. The delivery guy found my apartment without me having to come outside, which is unusual. This is a good Papa Johns’s.

This Papa John’s has always been a pretty bad one. Usually it’s late or incorrect or both. Tonight it was both. I was too hungry to send it back so I have chosen to express my outrage here on Unilocal in a passive aggressive manner on a full stomach. Luckily I’m moving to a delivery zone far far away, as I enjoy a good Papa John’s pie every now and then. Odds are against that happening at this location sadly. It’s usually hot, at least.

Placed our order on line that afternoon for an 8:30 delivery. The driver arrived at 8:23. That was where my experience went south. While we ordered a steak pizza, on special for $ 11, a frustration(and frankly something that I will never order from there again) is that there is a $ 3.49 surcharge for delivery ONTOPOF a tip. The website actually says ‘Any delivery fee charged is not a tip for the delivery driver’. However, it had been a long week and my boyfriend really wanted steak pizza so I went ahead and ordered. Since our driver was a few minutes early we tipped him $ 3. I should have looked at the pizza first though… After the driver left I took the pizza in the kitchen and opened the box. It was obvious no care had been taken with the pizza as the cheese had slid, like the box had been held at an angle. I was annoyed to have paid $ 6.49 on top of the $ 11 for a lopsided pizza. Next time, Papa Murphy’s.

Yeah, it’s cheap, but you get what you pay for. I’m a little spoiled, i usually pay the extra money for Round Table, but they don’t deliver to my new address so i’m stuck with Papa John’s. What Papa John’s considers ‘extra cheese’ is a little less cheese than Round Table puts on standard. Papa John’s sauce is very plain(and a bit too sweet), and they’re very stingy with toppings. Sometimes i can’t even tell what i requested, so few and far between are the pieces. However, i can order my pizzas online, ahead of time, and every time but once they’ve delivered within five minutes of when i requested. I’m all about minimizing human contact, so online ordering means both no talking on the phone and no worrying about my order being transcribed properly. Plus there are often online-only coupons advertized right on the site. And unlike another local pizza delivery option, Papa John’s pizzas are at least still warm when they get to my door.

Good pizza. GREAT prices(often have coupons where you can get large pizza for $ 10)! On-time delivery. I telecommute to my job in San Jose(brought it with me when I moved to Beaverton). So my San Jose team was having a fun lunch meeting one day and I was joining in, as usual, via video conferencing. Much to my surprise, half an hour before the meeting, Papa John’s was at my door with a large pizza! Turns out, my coworkers bought and sent me the pizza so I could literally join them in their lunch meeting. So not only does this Papa John’s continue to remind me of thoughtful people in this world, but I was impressed to find out they were the ONLY pizza joint within 10 miles of my home that would accept a credit card order when said credit card would not be presented in person when they delivered. Round Table and Domino’s both refused to accept a Cisco corporate card from my San Jose co-workers. Oh well, their loss. I now eat Papa John’s. :)
