We strive to bring Portland delicious vegan and vegetarian burgers that surpass the «real» thing. Our patties are house-made each morning using local grains and produce, «griddled» to order and served on local Dave’s Killer Bread vegan hamburger buns. Options range from our staple, vegan Off The Griddle (O.T.G.) burger to the gargantuan «Messy Bessy» burger to our Vegan Bacon Cheeseburger and more.

History
Established in 2010.
This business stems from the fact that a good, fresh, affordable veggie, and especially vegan, burger is difficult to come by. Therefore in the summer of 2010, when the opportunity arose, Dan and Ashley turned a simple concept into reality. Ashley devised Off The Griddle’s unique burger recipe while Dan, with his own history in construction and freelance writing on sustainability, added the solar power aspect. Together the pair have created a unique, Portlandesque food cart providing gourmet veggie burgers in as sustainable a manner as possible. Hopefully, many years of happy, green and veggie food service remain.

Business Owner
Ashley is the genius behind all the delicious recipes at Off The Griddle. She came up with our signature O.T.G. patty made from mushrooms, leeks and wild and brown rice. She is the progenitor of all our homemade vegan sauces as well, including our Spicy Tofu-Avocado Sauce and our Agave «Honey» Mustard. She somehow conjured all this while managing the logistics of getting a business up and running (in little more than one month!). Ashley is also (along with Dan H) the face of Off The Griddle.
