O Blu Nails & Spa

This place is absolutely awful. Instead of using the foil to take off my shellac she just picked it off with the cuticle cutter and ended up peeling my toenail off so it was extremely short! I had to tell them to use the acetone and foil! Then they tried to charge me 20 extra dollars for shellac on my toenails and 3 dollars for a nail kit! This place is ridiculous and unprofessional. I will never be back.

I found O Blu with a Groupon and I loved this place from the start. I found easier communication with the Techs. It is much more relaxing and spa-​like than he standard corner «spa».

Cindy is the best. I have been getting Shallac for years and have bounced around from place to place. But Cindy is fun to talk too, she is fast and efficient and does a great job! I have already sent he some of my friends and family.
Also the shop is very clean and tidy. And super cute inside. The massage chairs and nice when your getting a pedi. I don’t think I’ll ever go anywhere else!

Do not buy a gift certificate from this salon! My friends so graciously gave me a gift certificate to OBlu as a birthday present. Being extremely busy and only getting pedi’s once a month, it has taken me a while to use the GC, so it was expired. However, the business is still under the same ownership, they got their money, there was not a single other client in the shop and they would not honor the value. They very well could have acquired a new client, but since she said she would not honor the GC due to the expiration date, I walked out and informed her that I would let my friends know. I realize it was past expiration, etc. but if it was my business I know I would be happy to have a new client… especially when it was no money out, that money was already in her pocket. Business must be really good in the 1000’s of nail salons in Portland to walk a client over money you already have.

I got a pedicure today and was pleasantly surprised! I got the deluxe pedicure and the message was wonderful. They also did a great job coping a nail design I found on pintrest. I will definitely be back!

I have recently discovered shellac. And i’ve been on a hunt for the past few months to find a salon that does shellac well. I don’t want my fingers to be sore afterwards from your scraping and I don’t want my polish to chip after one week. I didn’t think this was asking too much.
Well, at O Blu Nails it’s not! When I went in they were friendly, fast, and did a great job. And for the least amount I’ve paid at a salon. I love the color selection too. This is my new place and I’ve told my friends about it!

I enjoy the look and feel of this place. Very clean and have many colors of polish to choose from. Just wish there were more employees working. I noticed two men working that went behind to go on their phones while I was still waiting to get my dnails painted. I’m very disappointed with the outcome of the paint job. Overall, okay place.

Offered tea. Very nice service. My neighbor in the next seat had wine and cherries. The pedicure was very nice and it was a good atmosphere. Just wish they didn’t have the TV on. But that’s just me.

I have been here three times with family and friends on weekday afternoons. I always make reservations online and someone always gets back to me quickly if I have special requests or questions. The place is very clean and I think the prices are very fair. The staff is friendly and they do a great job. I have had pedicures and shelac manicures that always look great and hold up much longer than expected. This is my «go to» salon when I want to be pampered.

My review is similar to others…
— $ 5 to remove polish felt like I was being nickel and dimmed. I’ve never he
— Uneven nails.
— Ran late even with an appointment.
But they were nice.

These girls know how to do nails. Sure maybe it seems expensive, but lets face it, in Portalnd you get what you pay for with your nails. And, unless you have lived in NYC where the competition is fierce, or Los Angeles where it is always expensive, you probably have a low standards for your mani/​pedi. If only I was into chemicals I would come here more often.

Have to update my review. I have gone a few more times since my first review and my last visit makes me not want to return. They nickel and dime you for each thing. I have brought friends with me every time I (New customers for them) have come in. A few times i have forgotten my nail kit and they charge me every time and charged $ 5 for other odd things too. Other places I have gone to regularly treat you like a regular and do special things for you so you keep coming back not like you are a dime dozen. I appreciate all business need to make money, but appreciate the ones more that I regularly go to that appreciate my business and that I bring them more business.

I did really want to love this place. Been looking for replacement ever since Spa LaLa closed. Would give 5 stars for cute interior. The pedicure on the other hand, meh. Not much attention paid to rough areas of feet. Massage was sort of nice but could have used way more pressure and been so much better. Had the hot stone treatment which was a first in a pedi for me. Probably better in the winter. Honestly would rather had more and better massage. No drying stations so back out into the world in flipflops still tacky. As a result, polish is totally smeared but not entirely fair to blame salon for that. Bottom line: They could have a real good thing going if they just try a little harder. Very clean, very nice. But actual product sadly disappointing. May go back again when they’ve been open a while longer.

O Blu has become my go-​to for nails in Portland. The atmosphere is great (love those little chandeliers), the staff is friendly, and the hot stone massage with the deluxe mani/​pedi is amazing.
My last couple of pedicures have taken more than 24 hours to cure and they get a little smudged in my shoes so maybe bring your own top coat.

Got the group-​on but planning to go back. Not many places are nice + clean.

I got the recent groupon deal with facial + pedicure. Shop was clean, women nice. However, the woman doing the facial smokes and must have smoked just prior to my appointment, so for the entire facial I had her smokey hands right near my nose. It was awful. The pedicure was going well (although I question whether the instruments are actually sterilized. They are in a sterilization bag, but it doesn’t appear that they were actually placed in a sterilizer.), until the woman tried to fit in two additional appointments. The remainder of my pedi was rushed and not relaxing at all. Not to mention, I had called the shop 3 times prior to my appointment and not once did the receptionist mention having to bring my own pedi supplies. So I was a little pissed to find out that I had to pay an additional $ 5 to buy my own supplies. This should’ve been mentioned over the phone when I made my appointment, as I did have a set of files, toe separators, buffers, etc from prior pedis.
Overall, i would NOT recommend this place at all. Very low class and low budget. Save your money and go elsewhere.
