She had made countless outfits for family and friends over the years, and decided to start her own business in her beloved southeast Portland. With a lifetime of experience, Khanh has developed a sense of style and poise in all areas of mens and womens fashion. Every alteration is done with delicate care, with sensitivity and an eye for detail.

Khanh gets all my business for alterations/​clothing fixes. She is the first person I think of whenever I need anything touched up, and I don’t hesitate to recommend her to all my friends. Khanh’s quality is top notch and she clearly knows her craft well. On top of that, she is friendly and affordable.
I work in a business formal environment and need to look professional. I know basic sewing but I bring everything to Khanh because I can’t do it nearly as flawlessly as she can (and because I’m lazy). Even though it would probably be more convenient to have the dry cleaners do the fixes, Khanh not only has better quality and attention to detail, she’s also cost effective. How can you beat that combo?
I’ve taken three sets of clothing items for alterations/​fixes over the last year or two, e.g. hems, tears, detached buckles, you name it. All three times I’ve walked out feeling like a rock star. I highly recommend her to you!

I’ve never seen myself as the kind of «fancy lad» who gets clothing tailored to him, but I made an exception for myself in the case of my favorite cowboy shirt– an expensive and elaborate Scully with lots of hand-​done embroidery (skulls and roses etc) done out in heavy gaberdine.
It’s a beautiful garment but simply too big and I was kind of swimming in it. One of my New Year’s resolution is to pay more attention to my clothes and general appearance, so after perusing the Unilocal reviews for tailors I gave Khanh a try.
I’m so glad I did! Khanh did an amazing and affordable alteration job and she’s getting all my tailoring work in the future.

Oh my gosh! So happy I found this place. Khanh is amazing! I needed an emergency alteration for my bridesmaid dress. I called her at 4:00 PM asking if she could do a same day alteration. I brought my dress in and she helped me immediately. I can’t believe how great her service is and her prices are beyond affordable. If I ever need any alterations in the future, I know where I will go. She is so flexible and nice.

Don’t get your alterations done anywhere else! Khanh is a rockstar and SO affordable. I bought a big bag with 15+ alterations from minor hemming to major fixing up, and she did everything at a very fair rate and with exceptional attention to detail. I can finally wear some of my old vintage favorites again! Khanh is so friendly and competent, clearly an uncommonly proficient seamstress.
Khanh even had the confidence to tell me to let go of an old skirt that needed so much darning it was nearly beyond repair. She let me know that she could fix it but that the quality of the fabric had deteriorated so badly that it would likely get holes in other places. That honesty really meant a lot to me as I probably would have just paid the fees only to find new holes again in a few months.
I’d never have found this place without Unilocal; I’m SO glad I did. I will always recommend that my friends and family get their alterations done here.

Love Khanh. I’m returning to Portland after years in Seattle, and I am happy to say I have found my new tailor. Communication with Khanh was a breeze. She does great work, is personable, and her prices are reasonable. Almost too reasonable for the quality of work– I almost felt like the bargain I was getting wasn’t fair. I’m five feet tall, which means nothing off the rack fits me. I’ll be seeing Khanh lots more in the years to come.
Extra plus, she was good with my energetic toddler while I tried on clothes for fitting. So nice.

I got my bridesmaid dress altered here, and she did an amazing job for an affordable price. My dress was very large on me and needed to be shortened and taken in, so I was worried that it might take more than a week to get done. But, it only took her a couple days and it fits beautifully now. I would definitely recommend going to her if you want a dress altered for an affordable price. I will be returning to Neighborhood Alterations next time I need any clothes worked on.
