Metro computer repair was recommended to me by a tech guru who helps me out in my business. When my husband spilled his beverage in his Mac, we took it to Metro since they were local and highly recommended. Unfortunately, it had been a few days since it happened, and our Mac could not be saved. We weren’t sure what kind of computer we wanted to replace it with, and they were patient until we made a decision a few weeks later. We brought them a new PC to download our files to. They walked us through our options, and helped us decide what we should download in a cost effective manner. They recycled our old Mac and pulled out our hard drive in case we wanted to download additional files later. They also helped me get the new computer set up; all of this great service for less than $ 100 ! Wow !
The setting is less than fancy, and not always easy to find. They have been in business longer than most of the other businesses with more reviews, and clearly aren’t chasing the reviews. But I’m coming back here for all my computer needs, for solid, good service and fair pricing.

A little hard to find, but worth it. Fixed faulty fan fast, for less than the original estimate. My laptop is quieter than when it was new.

There is no good time to have your computer crash. It sucks. Hard. Being somewhat tech savvy, I decided to tackle our most recent setback on my own. My wife’s 2010 macbook pro would not boot, and I was determined to get it working on my own, especially because I had just recently resigned from my job. With little income and plenty of time, I set forth my efforts and spent a couple of days trying to salvage the computer. Obviously, because I am writing a review for a computer repair store, my plan didn’t work.
After reading positive Unilocal reviews, I finally gave in and contacted Metro Computerworks for help. They were friendly over the phone, and I told me to bring the computer in at my convenience. Fifteen minutes later I was walking into the business, macbook in hand, hanging my head in shame because I couldn’t get it to boot. They were supportive, listened to my problem, and accessed the hard drive in no time at all. They were able to salvage all of our data, including 5 years worth of valuable pictures. Furthermore, they installed a new hard drive I purchased at OfficeMax, all for 60 dollars. When we showed up the next day, they booted up our computer without difficulty and sent us on our way.
When we got home, the computer wouldn’t boot up again. After fiddling with it for a bit, it would only work intermittently. I called the owner of Metro Computerworks, and he said that since he was out on an errand, he could pick up the computer from our home. He called me later in the afternoon and suggested that it was likely the cable from the hard drive to the logic board. Instead of pressuring me to buy one from him and have him install it, he gave me links to some youtube videos and told me where I can buy one to install by myself. So here I am, typing on my wife’s macbook after putting in a new cable. Metro Computerworks saved a significant amount of time and money. Hoping not to have to see them again anytime soon, but glad to know they are there if need be.

This is a great place to go to get your computer fixed. I dropped my Macbook and the screen cracked. Instead of going to Apple, I went here and Gene fixed it for a good price and it only took 3.5 days! These guys are super nice and I just wanted to say thank you!!!

Made my day by retrieved data on an older external hard drive. Great experience very helpful and reasonable prices. I was able to ask other PC related questions without being charged extra fees. Surprised at how low my bill was, nice to know I wasn’t getting overcharged. Quick turnaround, friendly spot.

My computer was full of adware and viruses to the point where it barely functioned. Gene was able to clean it up remotely and it now runs as good as new. Great service at a reasonable price!

Very impressed with the knowledge and responsiveness of the staff. I was ready to go buy a new computer but Andrew got my old PC up and running again in no time flat and at a great price. Highly recommended.

I’m a writer and my computer means everything to me. I came home from a trip yesterday and it was DEAD-wouldn’t start at all. A friend recommended Gene at Metro Computerworks. I came in no with appointment and was seen immediately. 10 minutes later I walked out with a LIVE computer in perfect order. He was kind without being condescending and super efficient. I’m 100% sold!

Our laptop crashed. We needed some files off the hard drive, under a tight deadline. Another computer repair shop said they couldn’t get anything off the hard drive. Took it to Metro, they figured it out, we got our files onto a thumb drive, and were able to pick up where we had left off instead of starting from scratch.

This place is the best! Gene talked me down off the ledge of emotional breakdown over an infected computer, quickly diagnosed the problems and clearly laid out the options. He was able to fix it on the spot and offered long-​term solutions.
I walked out of there with a working computer.
And Marty the Shop Dog doubled as a therapy dog.
And it is RIGHT off the Max line.
And totally reasonable prices for the expertise and quality of work.
And the pricing is clear.

I stopped in one afternoon after the wireless internet stopped working on my old PC, and they were able to check it out right away. At first it seemed to be the wireless card (if it had been, they had a spare of just the one I needed), but it turned out to be a virus. I left it overnight while they ran a bunch of updates and scans, and returned the next morning to pick up a computer that runs better than it has in ages. They were very patient with my lack of computer knowledge and my ancient, slow computer. I can’t believe they only charged me for an hour of shop time– I know they worked on it for considerably more than that. Highly recommended for both the results and the customer service.

I’ve been there three times but I haven’t spent any money because they keep telling me simple ways to fix the problem myself, or recover data myself. Once they did a simple something in ten minutes and didn’t charge. Really seem to be good guys.
