Amazing day on the water. Very short trip to the fishing spot. Caught my first sturgeon within 30 minutes, approx 4.5 feet long! Got about seven or eight more around that size. About 18 fish for the day. Marvin knew what he was doing, and is pleasant to talk to. Good conversation, great fishing, not one complaint

I’ve been on Marvin’s boat twice and we caught fish on both occasions. He is the kind of guy who knows his stuff and if anyone can lead you to the fish, Marvin can. He’s a great guy who is very personable and easy to deal with. His boat is well maintained, he knows the areas he fishes and the other guides respect him. His prices are reasonable and his years of experience will put you in the right spot to catch a fish. Thanks again Marvin for another great trip!

My first trip out on a charter boat was with Marvin’s guide service! I also caught two green sturgeon! I felt very safe and relaxed on the river with him. It truly was so much fun! The best ! He gets my vote for a get day on the river. I will be retuning in august to fish for salmon with him !

First time out with Marvin. He was easy to get a hold of to confirm time and location of our trip. When we arrived at the dock in the AM he was ready to go. Spent the day out there learning everything that I could from Marvin and he was happy to share his knowledge of fishing in the Pacific NW. He was engaging and entertaining, even though we went home empty handed it was a trip I will always remember. I would recommend Marvin to anyone who wants a fun day on the river (fish or no fish).

We showed up a bit late, but Marvin didn’t mind. In fact, for some reason, while I’m usually an on-​time guy, whenever I book a trip with Marvin, I tend to end up late.
I’ve fished with Marvin 5 or 6 times now, and it’s always a good time, even when the fish aren’t around.
My most recent trip included my dad, whom I haven’t fished with since the ‘90s. It was great to get out and fish with my dad again. Marvin got us on the fish and it just wouldn’t quit. My dad brought the first fish to the boat within minutes of getting the lines in the water. At the end of the day we had over 50 sturgeon to the boat, including oversized fish and keepers to take home for dinner. Marvin also had our fish filleted out quickly when we got back to the launch.
Fishing with Marvin is never disappointing.

This was my first guided fishing trip, and now I understand why you pay the extra dollars. At $ 165 this ended up being a no brainer. We did some early season catch and release angling for sturgeon in the Willamette below the St. John bridge.
Myself and two friends caught 14 sturgeon in 3 ½ hours. Most were under sized, but we knew that fishing close to Portland in early Feb was going to be mostly shakers.
We liked Marvin – besides the great fishing – because he’s fun to be in the boat with. He was really service oriented, which Carrie the novice really liked.
Non-​stop fishing made for a great day.
