Our locally owned and operated professionals assist you throughout your entire painting project. We begin this journey together in a thought provoked manner of providing a service to you, that matters.

First a plan: Project consultation, selecting the right coatings, agreeing on a prep level you desire, color theory, and then crafting your unique proposal.

Once you award us this important work we can get started: Project Engineering or Scheduling, Color Consultation, Material Purchasing, Project Management, Proper Preparatory Work, and Painting Production. We conclude every painting project with a final walk through.

We started in 2000 in the Midwest and have had over 17,000 invoices when we decided to branch out to our new market in the NorthWest. Since 1995 I have been involved in the coatings industry. 5 years as an apprentice and then in 2000 I started my own company, Majic Painting Inc. In February 09 I created a sister company to take on more technical industrial coatings for the OEM market. We built a 30′ x 15′ blast booth from the ground up. We worked with local inspectors, vendors and other contractors to create a much needed service to the Milwaukee area manufacturing sector. We also were able to use our painting booth more.

For most of 2010 and all of 2011 I worked in a manner to get my two companies and the teams involved in running without me as a day to day supervisor, thus enabling me the oppurtunity to embark in the next chapter in my career.

In August of 2011 with the help of my wife Heather and the support of our families we moved to Portland OR to turn a new leaf. We are excited and blessed with the opportunity and look forward to getting to know the people and places of the great North West.

We used Majic Painting for repainting builtins in 3 different rooms of our house. Golden oak has been replaced by an updated, fresh white paint. Jayson, the owner, is a pleasure to work with. Always kept us up to date and flexible with scheduling. The team of painters, Alyssa and Jesus, did a great job! They completed everything as promised and prices were very reasonable. We’ll be using them again for future house projects.

I had a great experience with Jayson & Co. at Majic Painting. Everyone is incredibly friendly, efficient, helpful throughout the entire experience. Also, getting down to brass tax, they do an incredible job at an incredibly fair price.
Getting estimates to paint your home can be a daunting task, with estimates ranging anywhere from suspiciously cheap to anxiety inducing expensive. Intuition would lead one to believe that thee is a correlation between price and quality when getting such a varied range of estimates, luckily for the person who chooses Majic Painting, that notion is proven false and you really can have your cake and eat it too.
One tip is to make sure to take advantage of their offer for color services. Paint and lighting have a really awkward relationship, fueled by a phenomenon called metamerism. In the painting world, metamerism describes the effect that light has on color that results in changes to the appearance.
We thought we had it covered. We went to the paint store, looked at a hundred different examples, flipped through the different examples of rooms on Home Depots computer, took the sample home and painted a couple patches to see how it would dry, but a sample doesn’t really reflect what an entire home will look like once it’s painted. If we had taken advantage of Jayson’s offer for color services, we may not have ended up picking a light gray that ends up picking up a lot of different colors we weren’t expected.
Next time we will. And believe us, the next time we need painting services, we will use Majic Painting.

Great service! Friendly, helpful, quick and efficient, as well as affordable. These guys are the whole package.
We had some siding replaced on our house and these guys did the painting once the installation was complete. They were thorough and professional. Helped me make sure the new paint would match the rest of the house. They were even able to add in a last minute addition to the project.
Will definitely use again for future painting needs.

Jayson and his team are fantastic. We hired them to paint four rooms, including kitchen cabinets, on the main level of our newly purchased home. The home was built in 1911, and was not in the best of shape. The painters patched, caulked, sanded, primed, and painted those rooms and cabinets until they gleamed. They finished the job on schedule, and I signed off before they left. My husband, who is perhaps a little more observant, found a few areas that needed attention: a bit of missing paint on the moulding, a rough patch on the wainscoting, things like that. He called Jayson, who could not have been kinder or more accommodating. He came to our house, made note of the areas needing a little extra attention, and scheduled a painter to return a couple of days later. With those few details wrapped up, the paint job is perfection. Jayson and his team take pride in their work, and they treat customers well.

Refused to even give an estimate… wasted my time
I wonder if something has changed at this business. I called for an estimate because it had such amazing reviews. Never even spoke to the person named Jayson that everyone seems to love.
A friend who used to be a painting contractor looked at the work I needed done, and told me that a painting company would be the ones to call to get an estimate on fixing and painting the parts of my house that are not covered by siding.
First, I had thought I was calling a locally based company, but when I called the person answering the phone needed me to clarify what state I was in and told me they serve three states. That concerned me as I like to use local contractors, but I figured I’d go ahead and get an estimate. She told me the person who serves my area would call me to schedule a time to give an estimate.
When that woman called and I told her I that there was some carpentry involved (nothing major, and I know that painters often do this to get surfaces ready to paint), she told me it was not worth their while to come look at the house and give me an estimate. Then she asked me to send them photos so they could decide if it they wanted to bother to come and look at the job. Really? I will take my money elsewhere.

Jason did an excellent job in creating the bids; he gave me two, for two different brands of paint. Several other companies I got bids from told me they only worked with one brand. As it ended up, the body of the house was done with a Miller paint and the trim with Sherwin Williams. I think the old paint was more than 30 years old and it took a lot of prep work; there were places where they scrapped down to bare wood and primed. Most of the siding is rough-​sawn T1−11, which is difficult to work with as you can’t sand it. Some of the siding had dry-​rot near the ground, so about 8″ of the siding was replaced. That part of the job was time and materials, because there wasn’t any good way to estimate what it would take. Weather being what it is in the Spring, it took a while for them to complete the job; although it only took 3 days of actual labor to do a 2700 sf, tri-​level.
The house was a dark brown and in the summer sun the walls would hit 145 °F. We went with a light green and the Miller low sheen’s coverage was excellent. The walls this afternoon were around 105 °F and the inside of the house is noticeably cooler.
Getting the place painted was the last step in turning a total dump into something beautiful.

It’s not often I take the time to post on Unilocal– but the service I got from Jayson at Majic panting really makes me want to share my experience.
I started with three bids and while I was waiting for the numbers to come in, I was really hoping Jaysons bid would be the best because he really impressed me when he came to my house to look at the space. He was incredibly helpful, insightful, and professional. I really appreciated his feedback about paint options, ways I could save money, getting a color consultation, and he even took the time to give me an ala cart bid so I could make choices that best fit my budget.
When all three bids came in, his price was by FAR the best. I was happy with the price point and even happier with the crew he sent. The finished a fairly big job in one day and came to touch up and make it perfect a day later. Clean up was impeccable. Jason was really great about communication. He also really made it a point to make sure I was happy. I know if I ever need to paint job again, i’ll be calling Jayson at Majic painting. You should too!

This is the 2nd project I’ve used Majic Painting. They came in to patch some ceiling holes after they completed another job since I was on a tight timeline to get the patch work completed to put my condo on the market. No job is ever to big or small. I really appreciate their flexibility, professionalism, and quality of work. Without question I would not hesitate to use Majic on my next project.

I wanted to let everyone know what a great job Majic painting did on my new kitchen cabinet painting project. They were extremely professional from start to finish. Jayson made a great impression when I first called due to his knowledge and ability to discuss the project with me over the phone in a way that made me feel comfortable giving such an important project to his company. His man Dave was a fantastic person to work with. He was able to troubleshoot problems and obstacles with my cabinets with ease. I know it was not a slam dunk but he made it look fantastic. Courteous, always on time, professional, and great workmanship. All the things you want from a painting company can be had with Majic painting!

We are still in the bidding process, but my husband and I have been very impressed with the thoroughness of the process. Our contractor originally met with Jayson, but we had some questions and he was willing to come out a second time. He seems to really understand the unique issues that come with painting a century old house. Prep is key and Jayson really gets that.

I had Majic Painting work on two separate painting projects for me.
The first was finishing a previous project that my husband and I were not able to complete. It involved painting the living room and dining room with some areas up to 25ft tall. It just got very cumbersome and gave up finishing the project. Majic Painting was one of the vendors I asked to provide a quote to finish the project. Their price was competitive and used the existing paint cans I originally purchased. There were a couple wall drips that needed to be cleaned up at the end but overall was satisfied with the outcome to use them again.
The second project involved painting my oak kitchen cabinets to white. This project took three days to complete with two guys. I thought they did a spectacular job! I’ve had friends that had their kitchen cabinets painted and thought mine looked more uniform and smoother. Painting kitchen cabinets can be tricky and require multiple paint application and sanding. It can also get very messy. Majic Painting sealed off my kitchen and kept the mess at a minimum. They’ve done kitchen cabinets many times before and would recommend using them to friends.
I was in contact with Jayson throughout the whole process. He’s very responsive and came by multiple times to check on the project.

Jayson and his team were awesome. Everything went so smoothly. Crew showed up on time, work was done ahead of schedule and there were no hidden costs or surprises. its been weeks following the completion and my house looks beautiful. We had gone through about 5 estimates on exterior paint before we met with Jayson. Talk about a breath of fresh air. Who knew you could have work done on your house and not feel like you’re getting taken advantage of?! He was amazing from start to finish. Friendly, available, helpful — you name it.
We ran into some horrible weather but his team was available at the first sign of dryer weather and was able to get our house done in record time.
Jayson worked with us on price, paint selection, scheduling and walked us through getting answers to all of our inquiries.
We are already talking about future work with Jayson.

Majic Painting recently painted my condo. They were wonderful from first contact to conclusion of the job. Andrea who staffs the office is friendly and efficient. Majic Painting did a great job. I’ve used lots of different painting outfits in the past, and these guys top the list. I really liked the fact that he was thorough in explaining the needs of the project to me. He left no question unanswered which gave me the piece mind that I was in good hands. They left all the information of my paint colors for me so if I need anymore it would be easy which I really appreciated. No other company has done that for me. I’ll def! John is amazing! I think he is the first contractor I’ve dealt with who did everything exactly as he promised: he started and finished as he said at the time of the estimate and charged the price he estimated. The job was done perfectly well! I will never hire anybody else for painting services. John is reliable, honest, very professional and very reasonably priced — what else could you wish for?
