Michael did an exceptional job opening my locked out car quickly and professionally. He took his time, made sure there was no damage to my vehicle and was very fast in getting to me. You’ll be happy you called.

Solid experience. Helped me and boyfriend out when I lost my car keys. Took a long time but my car is a pain in general so I expected it. It was really expensive, but what can you do. He was very patient with us when we had to run around and get to an atm. Overall, would def recommend again.

I found myself in a pickle as I attempted to swap out a bedroom door lock and discovered my router drill bit and drill weren’t up to the task. I noticed a locksmith monkey van across the street and decided to try my luck and see if they could help. The kind gentleman not only came over and routed out a new hole for me, but refused any payment for his efforts. Very touched by this act of kindness. I’ll be calling this company should I ever require a service call. Thank you, Locksmith Monkey!

Last week was very stressful for me .
To start off it was a very busy week for me on top of working and taking care of my son that was very sick. He needed me to take him to the ER when he didn’t start to feel better after so many days.
So here is my store about how my week went from starting off to be a normal week ended up being very stressful. First off my second oldest son was very ill and had asked if I could take him to the dr. s couldn’t get an appointment till next month. So I made the decision to taking my son the the ER for the care he needed right away. While I was in the hospital waiting for my son and for everything to be finished from X-​rays ect. When my son was finished we were walking out of the hospital and I pulled my keys out of my purse and wouldn’t you know it I dropped them Down the sewer drain there in the parking lot… Grr not good at all. So I did a search for locksmiths in my area and I called locksmith monkey. They came out within 30 minutes and the nicest gentleman showed up. I talked to the dispatcher and told him what had happened and stated my keys and my remote for my 2004 jeep Cherokee plus my house key was on it. I had called several other locksmiths and they all told me it was a dealers only key because my car needed a pin code what ever that was. Kay was the dispatcher and he reassured me that his tech was the best and I’d be driving my car soon back home so he could make me yet another key for my home. 45 – 50 minutes later I had a key that worked my jeep started and a new remote also that worked. After I dropped off my oldest at his home, Ilan followed me to my home and opened my door so I could get inside with my youngest son while he worked on making me a new key for my door. About 30 or so minutes passed and he told me everything was finished gave me new keys to my house. After everything was done I was pleased with what the total bill was, new key for jeep Cherokee 2004 and new remote plus making me 2 keys for my house one for the key chain and one extra just in case. With a grand total of 290 $.
Thank you so much for turning a stressful week and a horrible day turn around with a bright friendly face and smiles and kept telling me everything will be like it was back to normal.

This place is a scam!!! Was quoted about $ 55 to unlock my car door. When the technician showed up about 3 hours later he asked for my card and handed me back a receipt for $ 204! He insisted that he’d told me before hand how much it would be but, he definitely did not. Raised his voice at me when I asked if I could cancel the whole thing. He also said he already had my card number and he was already there so there wasn’t much I could do besides let him unlock my door. He was very condescending. I felt so stupid for falling for this. Do not call them!

Fabulous service at a reasonable price. Kevin showed up on time discussed the work required, quoted me the charges which we agreed to. Showed up again the next day finished the work quickly for the price originally quoted. Very professional and courteous. I recommend them highly!

When you call, they will tell you there is a $ 25 trip charge.
Then $ 125 AND UP for the key, based upon make of vehicle. When you ask what the key charge is, they keep repeating this. I wanted to know so I wasn’t caught up in something like what actually happened.
In REALITY, they showed up (I was told 30 – 40 mins, but waited 2 hours for him to show) and the quoted amounts don’t include the key, OR an extra programming charge. Those are the LABOR/​SERVICE charges. I my case it was $ 60 for the key and another $ 129 to program it.
This is classic bait and switch in the service sector. When I asked why they couldn’t tell me the fees upfront (the programming part is a standard fee, he says) he tried to deflect, saying he has a laptop to pay for, and a Website he has to access for information.
Come on. You know your fees up front and I asked for them! I understood the key cost varies.
Oh and he didn’t even get the key programmed right, I had to go to the dealer and get my keys done after all of that.
DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This is the sketchiest company I have ever had to deal with. A couple weeks ago I was quoted $ 300 to drill the lock of my apartment door, because my key was not working. It was the middle of the night and I had no other choice but to agree to it. One of them men asked if my windows to my apartment were open, and hopped on his van and climbed through my window. He spent minutes inside my apartment. Finally came out and told me I needed to pay $ 300, though NOTHING had been done. We argued about the price and he went and got his boss out of the van. They made me feel threatened and the boss told me that karma will be coming after me. They talked me down to $ 150, which is still completely ridiculous. They yelled, they slammed doors and then sped out of my apartment after I told them that I was calling the police.
Fast forward 2 weeks and our company needed a locksmith to come out and fix the lock on our cash box. Unknowingly, our secretary called this same company. The «boss» showed up and quoted us $ 145. The owner went back and fourth with him and it ended with this guy telling him «whatever, have a good life.» There was more to this story, but it is mostly just drama. We took our cash box in to a locksmith today and we were charged $ 20. We saved $ 125 by not being threatened into using this piece of sh*t company.
They have a grade F on BBB. That’s saying something.

Context: My key would not turn in the ignition of my 2002 Ford Focus nor would the wheel turn. Very common problem for a Ford from this year. I needed a new ignition. 8:30pm at night.
Service: Awesome, Élan (Elad?) was very nice and friendly. He arrived around 9:30pm and took about an hour to drill out and replace my ignition cylinder. He was able make it for my original key as well which was great. Would hire again :-)
Price: Somewhat less awesome. I am stoked they did not charge me any extra for the service being after business hours but the total was more than I read online the service should cost. They charged $ 350 plus $ 25 for the visit which is more than $ 100 over what other locksmiths are charging but it is still less than what a Ford dealer would have charged me for then same service. I also asked if I they took credit cards over the phone and they said «of course» but then they said cash or check after the job was completed because no one was in the office to run the card after hours. It would have been nice if the person on the phone could have told me this in advance. It wasn’t a big deal for me but I could see how it might be an issue for others.
All it was a good experience. I am so happy to have my car back and the car started up better than ever with the new ignition. Thank You!

Today I won the prize for being a total idiot, but these people are wonderful. I locked my keys in my house while on a dog walk. Looked for the spare; my house sitter had neglected to return it to its normal location. My elderly dog was due to get critical, time-​sensitive medications in 15 minutes and I was freaking out. I thought about breaking a window, but I called the first locksmith that showed up on my phone’s google search on the off-​chance that they could get there in time.
The woman who answered the phone was very attentive and assured me that someone would be out right away because of the animal situation. She repeated the information I was giving her loudly; it sounded as if she was repeating it aloud to the person who was leaving the premises at that exact moment to come and help me.
THEN about 5 minutes later I realized I had accidentally left my back door unlocked and called them right back, totally embarrassed. They did not make me feel like a fool and did not ask me to pay anything, but I insisted because I had caused them to respond to my situation and someone was already on the way. In my view, that is the ethical thing to do. They were very nice and sounded surprised and told me they would have the service technician call me from the road. He called back right away and was exceptionally kind and understanding.
I am noticing that a lot of the negative reviews about this place are from people who are expecting after-​hours, on-​site labor at an unreasonable and unrealistic price. These people need to have more life experiences, and more experiences with working in specialized fields, in my opinion. Locksmith Monkey’s price for a service call (late at night) was FAR LESS than what I paid to another company during regular business hours. Not to mention I had to wait for several hours for the other company to arrive while these folks were on it right away.
When I am in need of a locksmith, it’s rare, it’s a big deal, it feels like a personal emergency, and it’s very stressful. I prefer to support good, honest people who work hard and take the situation at hand seriously and RESPOND. I’m hoping I won’t need this kind of help again but if I do I will definitely call Locksmith Monkey. I saved their contact info in my phone already. They are really good folks and they are genuine.

I locked myself out on a Sunday. Locksmith Monkey was able to send someone over in less than twenty minutes. The locksmith was pleasant and efficient.

Best of the best place to make your key. I lost my key on Home Depot parking lot was panicking… I can’t drive any more … My wife try to call. I called Barak (I found them on the web thru my phone looking at Unilocal). He sad he will be by my place in 15 min. What a great company guys I was free to drive in minutes. Will recommend to all people I know.!!

I used Locksmith Monkey and was very pleased.
In googling locksmiths, MOST will add on a service fee, so just ask about total price when you call, as most locksmiths charge a service fee in addition to the the initial price of $ 25 plus per lock fee.
I mentioned the price difference that the service fee added to the original phone quote, and I was pleased that they were very fair about this. They asked me what I was quoted and then asked me what I felt was a fair price when I explained I hadn’t know about the service fees that I’ve read are standard with this industry. They worked with me on cost and really appreciated it.
I was very pleased with them and found them fast, efficient, and very.
I would hire them again and really appreciated their generosity in adjusting the price for me!

When I called I was told 25 minutes, $ 25 for the call and $ 15 and up depending on the lock. I said great, gave my information and waited. 1 hour later the locksmith arrived took at look at my front door and said $ 110 total… Wow $ 70 mor than the minimum, must be a complicated lock right. Well it took about 60 seconds with a small sheet of plastic. Don’t believe the time or cost estimates they’re just trying to keep you from calling another locksmith and comparing prices. They did get the house unlocked quickly after they arrived.

Avoid at all costs. Would give zero stars if I could.
TLDR; Charged nearly $ 180 to install a $ 6 mailbox lock.
Wouldn’t quote me an estimate over the phone to rekey a mailbox. I did some research on average local prices while the guy was on his way. Standing on my porch, looking at my incredibly common mailbox, the guy quoted me nearly $ 180, over twice as much as the average, and when I said no thank you, he demanded I pay $ 25 for his trip over.
Rather than pay the guy for nothing and then have to look for another locksmith, I told him to go ahead and do the lock. He spent the entire time repeating that I was now one of their customers and they wouldn’t charge me the $ 25 in the future, like that would really offset their hugely inflated prices.
After the guy finished and was pulling out his paperwork, I went to the lock and discovered that he had installed it upside down.
He fixed the mistake, all the while repeating that I was now a customer and things would be cheaper in the future.
Scam.
You would do better with literally anyone else.

Update: I was contacted by Ken H after posting my original review and refunded the amount that I was charged. Ken insists that customer satisfaction is important to him and the company, and I am thankful that he felt the need to reach out and make things right.
Original review: I would also give 0 stars. I was locked out of my apartment at 6 pm. I called and spoke to the owner and was quoted $ 15 to send someone out and then that to pick the lock would be $ 20 and up depending on the difficulty of the lock.
This fella was a total scam artist! They use this tactic because they realize once they show, you will be super desperate and pay whatever they ask for. The guy opened my easy lock (basic/​took less than 60 seconds) and then informed me that I would need to pay $ 125 cash. I laughed. Who carries $ 125 in cash? I assumed the locksmith must be pocketing part of the cash and called the owner back to discuss the discrepancy and possible trickery.
The owner proceeded to lie to me, yell and try to speak over me, and insist that I was mistaken. First he tried to tell me that I originally spoke to a dispatcher. I told him that I knew it was him; he has an unmistakable accent. He then told me that they NEVER quote prices over the phone. Dude, you totally did! Then he told me that I must have called and spoken with another locksmith/​company. Oh yes, I am so dumb that I don’t remember calling other locksmiths and it’s not like I can literally prove that I didn’t call anyone else by looking at my cell’s call log.
So now I’m fuming. I’ve been ripped off by someone that purposely misrepresented the fee of the service they would be providing, and then he again insists that I called someone else, because they charge $ 20 to come out, NOT $ 15. I was staring at the invoice, on the company letterhead, where the locksmith had clearly written $ 15 for service call and told him this. We had been in the phone for 10 minutes at this point, and I really could not be bothered to waste anymore time talking to the idiot, so I told him the discussion was over and goodbye. Guess who called me right back to argue more? Unbelievable.
I should have been a more informed consumer and called several other places for quotes. The deal was obviously too good to be true. I didn’t even bother calling anyone because the cost was so inexpensive. I told the owner/​dispatcher/​scam artist that he should have informed me when I called at 6 pm, that they would charge me at least $ 110 to unlock my door. I was told by the locksmith that came that after 5 pm and they rack up the price. I also told the owner that it is unhelpful to his business and employees to misrepresent his prices. I can only imagine how many furious people they have had to deal with face-​to-​face. And, in all honesty, if they just would have told me when I called that it would cost at least $ 125, I would have waited the couple of hours to get my spare key from my buddy, or just paid it and been annoyed. It was the combination of dishonesty and deplorable business practices that is so infuriating!

Locksmith Monkey is a high quality local business. They are extremely reliable and I use them on all my rental properties. They have responded to emergency calls and the price is well worth the service they provide.

Locked out of our basement AIRBNB apartment and the owner did not have a backup key. The lock itself was not a traditional door lock, but a kind of file cabinet/​cabinet lock that had been rigged to the door, so more difficult to pick.
Elad came out on a Sunday afternoon and had the lock opened within 5 minutes. Very nice fellow. Price was steep ($ 165), but these guys are fast, efficient and reliable. Worth it to get back into the apartment quickly.
Also, this is a small family-​owned business run by three brothers. A great business to support!

TL;DR — Expensive, but got the job done.
I got locked out of my apartment. I had already called two other locksmiths and was getting very frustrated. So, this is the next service in line. I call them, they come over and the quote me $ 175. Very expensive. But I’m tired, I have to work in the morning, and I don’t want to have to call someone else to come open the lock.
The guy who comes over knows what he’s doing. 5 minutes later, he opens the lock, he replaces the deadbolt (for 35 dollars more) and I pay him in cash. He also is familiar with the other person who came to my apartment and failed at opening the lock. We chat about her for a minute or two, and then he leaves.
I get into my apartment, take a shower, sigh at how I’m $ 210 in the hole, update my
account, and go to sleep in my warm, inviting bed.
