No one is more important than another, I don’t expect to be placed in line ahead of others. But if you are in the tire sales and service business since 1952, and you know that it’s going to be a three hour wait to do work, why don’t you just say it? My hour, hour fifteen estimate was a cool three and a quarter. I could have made business visits, had lunch, called a friend, gotten a root canal, most anything BUT sit there and wait for the mystery to unfold.
JUST BE HONEST. It’s not rocket science, and I don’t know that you are the emergency room with a bunch of ambulances delivering tires that need urgent tire-​changin. You over-​promised and under-​delivered, well done. rs
Upon appropriate correction by branch manager Joe Petrjanos, my hour, fifteen estimate was handled in two hours 11 minutes. Since we’re being honest, I’ll be accurate. It felt like a «cool three and a quarter», and that’s probably because I don’t like being inconvenienced. My bad. I’m normally not one to exaggerate, but I did here.
Btw: I think it takes courage to pick up the phone, call a frustrated customer and just thank them for posting a negative review. Under normal circumstances it is likely to improve the overall review score… in my opinion. rs

Original ETA given for front tire replacement 2 hrs. After 2hrs I asked if there is any update on my car. Told, «Two more cars are in front of you. It should be another 45min-​1hr.» After 1hr and a half, I again ask for an ETA. At this point the man helping me looked at me, confused as to why I was still there, and went back to check. He told me that they were finishing up with me car, it should only be a few minutes, and they’ll let me know when it was done. 20 more minutes after that and I’m still waiting. I go and ask if my car is ready, and with another confused look he goes to check. Turns out, my key had been waiting on the clip board on the wall for god knows how long. They did not call my name to tell me it was done and they did not attempt to call. Suffice it to say, after about 4hrs, I was extremely upset as I had been asking periodically if my car was completed. Trying to reconcile, he gave me a $ 25 discount. Thank you. It was a nice gesture, but that did not make up for the time I wasted.

I was to young to remember my first visit to Les Schwab, I do remember wanting to go back. I was very impressed with their customer service. By which I mean free popcorn while you wait (they still do that) and big windows where you can watch them work (they still have that to).
I’ve moved to Portland and this became my Les Schwab… Over the years I have purchased a lot of tires from them, batteries to and even a auto repair work. Once one of the guys drove over to rescue me from a dead battery (no extra charge!) If they do it they have probably done it for me at some point.
The core has never changed, Its all about customer service. They treat you well and make it as painless as possible. Free flat repairs, best warranty anywhere, free rotations… and good tires!
In the end I thought about a four star review but I couldn’t think how to make it better. They even look the same as when I was a kid so the nostalgia thing works! OK maybe they could have online reservations for rotations etc… still I give them five stars/

This place has restored my faith in automotive shops. My car wouldn’t start, so they came out to jump it. We got to the shop, they tested my car, and found a loose wire. They fixed it at no charge!!! I almost look forward to something going wrong with my car so that I can give them my business. (Almost) Thank you!!!

Joe the manager is a very friendly guy. I brought my car in to remove a rounded and rusty bolt on the suspension. Joe tried removing the bolt for me but couldn’t, he didn’t charge me anything and gave me some good advice on where to take my car. Thanks for the help and advice Joe!

They charged me $ 98 to come fill my tire with air. The guy was here for less than 2 minutes. I def won’t be going to les schwab any more.

Growing up in Central Oregon, my folks always went to Les Schwab when we needed help with our tires, and I rarely heard a negative word about their service (hey, you can’t please everyone all of the time!). Now, as an adult, they’re my go to for anything I need when it comes to my tires, and I appreciate that they haven’t changed much in thirty-​odd years.
A month or so ago, my brand new car got a total flat. I was upset. After getting the spare on, we wheeled over to this location. They told us that a screwdriver shaft had puncture our tire and broke off, and that they fixed it at no charge. I was ready to pay at least $ 50 – 75 for the service. Then today, another tire was flat. We took it in, and they told us that it was a nail this time and fixed it. Again… no charge. Wow.
For me, as a consumer, these small things make a huge difference to me and my family. They will get our money eventually, but until then, it’s nice to know that there are businesses out there who still care about customer service and who go beyond what is needed to make sure they retain repeat customers. As I was leaving the Rose Garden, I hit a curb and got a flat tire. I quickly Unilocaled the closest tire shop and it was Les Schwab. The minute we got there they asked us how they could help. They got us a new tire and mounted it right then & there. I’ve never had such GREAT service! I highly recommend this place if you need tires or need help with a flat. Thanks guys!

My tires seem to be shrapnel magnets so having these guys in the neighborhood has saved me on numerous occasions. They repair the damage quickly and with a smile and since I bought my tires here it is always free of charge. If only this level of customer service was ubiquitous in all industries.

I bought snow tires from these guys. They were more than happy to sell me the tires, but didn’t bother to give me ANY information regarding maintenance and costs. Brian, their condescending assistant manager, informed me today that I would have to pay $ 200 in up keep annually for my $ 1200 tires… hey, you might educated first time snow tire buyers! Nobody likes to be surprised with the bill.
BUT thanks for telling me how much your garage equipment costs and asking me if I wanted my tires to fall off and informing me what a deal I am getting.

People at the front desk are so incredibly rude. My first time ever having to come in here and wasn’t sure how to go about it and parked my car in the wrong lot (they have two buildings) and was treated like an idiot for not knowing that (I’m not familiar with this area). Then when giving my information the guy at the desk continued to have a snotty attitude and continued to mention that they closed in 20 mins. There was a screw in my tire which made it flat and I had no choice but to bring it in at the time. I also saw the front desk lady answer a call and mimic the person on the other line. No customer service here at all. You work until a specific time so deal with it. we all have to.

They are great at educating their customer about tires and different service offerings. Since I’m from an area where the climate is very dry, I appreciated knowing why certain tires are better for rain and not getting a pushy sales pitch. I came in for a patch and ended up getting new tires. Their tires are under warranty for a given number of miles. They were friendly, caring, and fast. Plus, their lobby has free coffee and popcorn.

Hendrix Motors sent me over here because he noticed my tires looked flat immediately after putting some air in. I came in, a nice lady took my info and I went to get some ice cream a few blocks away because car trouble makes for a terrible day. Meanwhile, Daniel checked my tires, replaced a bad stem valve, and handed me my keys and told me there was no charge like it was no big deal. Maybe it wasn’t a big deal for him but he made my day! Thank you so much (:

Staff was professional, honest, with no pushy sales techniques. They gave me a layout of all my options and let me choose which performance and price best suited my needs.

Day 4 getting my driver’s license: just as I was about to jump out of the car and high five the stranger that gestured me into my very first, perfect parallel parking spot right in front of my building, he had to bear the worst news a new driver wanted to hear: you got a flat tire.
No wonder my steering wheel was tilted!
Clueless what I should do next, front desk gentleman of my building helped me find my spare tire (I didn’t know it existed) and spent the next 45 minutes putting it on while 5, 6 passerby’s offered to help, then common sense reminded me that I probably should take it to a repair shop.
2 hours later I found myself at Les Schwab. Tyler the nicest technician explained to me their tire service and because mine came from original manufacturer he fixed it for free! Shortly afterwards I was back on the road, tasting and remembering every bit of kindness of this amazing city and ready for day 5 and beyond, of my driving adventure.

Time to give a little love to Les Schwab. Well, most of the tread that I ride on is by mountain or hybrid bike. ButI do have a Tundra 4×4 that’s ready for new soles. As my wife and I pull our trailer around the country, all over the west, I have noticed in just about every small town, as well as big cities, there is a Les Schwab around. «Les» is more – more Les around to service me – comforting! If you have a flat, repair, out-​of-​balance cuz you hit a pot hole or need air, Les does it free – where ever you drive he is there – tire warranties 40K to 60K depending on product for car, truck or SUV.
Another thing that puts the «rubber-​on-​the-​road» for me was when I rolled up a flat tire (not purchased at a Les S store), they repaired it at no charge. How do you like that service? Of course, now that’s a good reason I’m coming back to spend about $ 1000 for a set of 18 inch all terrain truck tires for my 4×4. What goes around, comes around when you do good things for others – good business Les! So you shop around (I got a quote in hand and looked at some cool treads that Richard showed me) so now I will review at Consumer Reports to make my final tire selection.
I am pulling a trailer with a truck so I will not take lightly to buying an inferior tire. Good traction and a heavy duty, 6 ply, means we can travel more safely in search of the next destination waiting for my next Unilocal review!

Les Schwab on NW 19th & Northrup is exceptional. Last winter they helped me replace two tires at a reasonable price without compromising service. I was on a tight budget and they treated me no different than someone without a budget. This month they came through for me yet again! I was told by my dealership that my alignment was «dangerously off.» I was worried because I was planning a camping trip which included driving around 200 miles. Les Schwab, fit me in with short notice and then assessed my alignment at NO COST. Its because of service like this I will continue to return to them. My alignment was not out and Les Schwab even printed out the readings for me. I am no longer going to service my car at the dealership in which I purchased it, but I will always go to Les Schwab for my other tire and mechanical needs. Thank you guys!!!
