J Rollins Art of Framing

Joanne Rollins is a Portland treasure. Whenever I visit, she really makes me feel like I’m in the right place! More than once she’s framed work for me on a short timeline («can I get it this week???») and has always understood my budget restraints without making me feel anything less than the most valued client she has. The great thing is that all of Joanne’s clients feel that way! I love this little shop. Great service, and really helpful and knowledgeable.

I am an independent art fanatic; my home is primarily decorated with framed art and books. I also have a very particular style, and therefore need to be able to have a great deal if input when framing, while also working with someone who can figure out what I want and find it for me. At this point, Joanne has helped me frame approximately 10 pieces, each one unique. She has tolerated my moments of indecisiveness, and spent up to an hour with me trying to get the match just right. On some occasions, she’s found the perfect thing at the last minute that completely blew me away. She’s also genuinely pleasant to work with, and the results are always exceptional. Custom framing can range from moderate to pricey to extravagant depending on which frame you choose, but Joanne’s rates are extremely fair for the quality, and she’ll give you a deal when she can. If you have something special that you want to keep forever, this is the best place in Portland.

Joanne was super helpful in picking the right colors and frame styles to go with some fairly eclectic pieces I brought in. And her prices were a lot less than what I was used to paying at the big chain frame shop (you know who I mean :-).
