History
Established in 2011.
Harvest Nursery began when the owner purchased an abandoned house with a large lot on the corner of Marine Drive in 2011. By doing so, he helped remove an eyesore, by fixing up the house and cleaning up ¾ of an acre of weeds, and revitalized the neighborhood. In addition to the nursery, a significant portion of the property is now devoted to a demonstration garden of edible plants which helps our customers see these plants growing happily in the ground and improves the view along Marine Drive!
Initially a bamboo nursery, Portland’s growing interest in edible plants instead of ornamentals, led to a change of speciality that has been rewarding and successful. Expanding our inventory from common items such as blueberries and figs to include an incredible variety of edibles that are hardy in the Pacific Northwest has been rewarding and educational for everyone!
