I had a year of terrible pain, trying to avoid surgery with all sorts of conservative treatments. Due to the way my wrist was made, however, combined with my super-active lifestyle(I lift weights, do crafty stuff, fight with foam swords, and do medical massage for a living) I finally gave in. Dr. Woolley did an amazing job. By the time I got home from the outpatient procedure, I could move my thumb without pain for the first time in ages. Bonus: The ginormous wrap he put on my hand looked like a boxing glove and kept people from bumping into it. :) I was back at work full-time 7 weeks later. With another month of healing I could do pushups, etc without a hint of pain and my wrist is now at 100%. The scar is minimal, too. His office staff is friendly and helpful. They even have parking, in NW! All in all, it was a shockingly good experience. As someone generally terrified of surgery, particularly where my hands are involved(!), I wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Woolley.

I was referred to Dr. Woolley by my PCP for wrist pain in Jan 2011. At the time I went in I had already had physical therapy with no relief and an MRI. Dr. Woolley said he would not have scheduled an MRI where I had it done. He said the MRI was poorly done and he wasn’t able to read it clearly. He said he did not see any tears in my wrist and recommended something on the line of cortisone shots for relief. I went to another doctor the following week for a second opinion who read the same MRI and showed my clearly where there was a TFCC tear. I had surgery in March 2011 and have been pain free ever since.

Just saw Dr. Woolley for my wrist… He is great! Very kind, funny, intelligent and just a joy to have for a doctor. Gave me all my options then we decided what to do. I went to him after reading Dan D’s review and was waiting for a doctor who just hurried me through. But not Dr. Woolley, he spent quite a bit of time with me. I would recommend him to any one in need of a good hand doctor.
