Green Drop Garage

My first visit to the Green Drop will not be my last. These guys were great! Super nice staff and a beverage while you wait, you can’t beat it. I went in for an oil change, made my appointment online and I was in and out quickly. I also have to commend them for their follow up after the fact. They value customer input and make sure you are happy with their services. Exactly the place I want to give business to.

The guys at Green Drop are awesome and very informative. They tell you how it is, and don’t try and sell you something you don’t need. They’re honest. They’re super friendly, and very polite. My favorite tech is Garrett, he seems to take his job very seriously. Ian and Noe are very good as well.

First, these guys are awesome. And funny. And extremely helpful.
I needed a headlamp bulb replaced and as many of you know, you may have to take apart the entire engine block to perform basic car maintenance. And replacing the burned out bulb in my Volvo appeared to be going down that path. I had bought a bulb myself thinking I could do it… enter Green Drop.
I actually called the 9^th Ave location who said «c’mon on down! we can do it» and then promptly drove the 28^th Ave location because I knew it was there, and thought that’s who I called… anyhoo, after clearing up the confusion of which location I had spoken to on the phone, these Green Drop pros said «no problem! we can do it for you RIGHT NOW — we’re not busy».
And then didn’t charge me.
For anything.
It took about 6 minutes.
I offered many times to pay for the help — we agreed on $ 5 which could buy a pint. I mean, they are just a block away from Gigantic Brewing.
The whole situation made my day and proved there is still good in the world.

I want to give these guys a higher rating but given I am a bargain shopper I can’t do that. They are expensive. You are paying a premium to these guys because they take special steps to be eco friendly but I think $ 210 to replace a battery is too much. $ 325 for brakes that I was quoted $ 200 and $ 250 at two other shops. They do have excellent employees with good communication skills and also a good system for communicating information to you electronically. They are well organized and friendly. They gave me beer while I waited. But when I have to spend a lot of money I want to know that I would be paying competitive prices. And I don’t think I will go back here because of the cost :-(

I’ve been going to green drop for a few years now and they never disappoint me. Their customer service and professionalism is amazing. They always do a great job on my car whether, it be an oil change, routine tire rotation, or fixing a mechanical problem they always do a great job!

I’ve been bringing both our cars to Green Drop’s original location for oil changes for a few years now, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. They’re right across 9^th from Lucky Lab, so I just drop the car off, grab a bite to eat and pick up the car after lunch. Easy-​peezy!
Recently my Mazda needed a new transmission gasket as well as an oil change. Green Drop’s new Moreland location was running a special on mechanical work, so I went there. Not only was the bill less than the original estimate, they even gave me a ride to work and back!

I flip flopped on a 3 or 4 star review as I’m not sure they did anything terribly wrong, per se. But all these 5 star reviews for the other location, seem odd. There were a few things that will send me elsewhere. (Note that while I’m not a car expert, I got the basics down and grew up with a dad who ran a garage. Pulling a fast one doesnt work!)
First, not being allowed to bring my own parts. I needed brakes done, which I knew. So asked for a quote. Maybe I dont understand the industry, but I’m not gonna pay the mark-​up on parts I cant even check beforehand. And for $ 325, the price seemed high.
2^nd…no waiting room. Though the guy was nice enough to get me a 2^nd chair to act as a mouse pad so I could get some work done.
Finally, the stuff I had left in the car was all pushed to the floor, and not put back together. My truck is by no means clean, but these were documents and a box I was shipping. The least they could do was put them back…
Overall, the place is probably fine if you dont care about the cost and getting a high mark-​up. I’m sure their work is fine. So while I give it 4 stars as I dont think they did anything wrong, I will probably not return.
