Having always had a knack and interest in working with tools and on projects for friends, family, and acquaintances due to word of mouth, I’ve decided to take over 20 years of consistent handyman experience to the community. I’m just a regular guy who is easy to work with and talk to, so please don’t feel like you’re going to be weaseled out of your hard earned money, or that you’re talking to a contractor, those are all just formalities. I don’t believe in over-​charging people for work projects that are relatively easy and are a joy for me to complete, while beautifying your home or place of business within our community.

I am an ex local athlete, State Champion and All-​Star in Basketball, played Football well prior to injury, and ran Track. As A University of Oregon Alum, an MBA, and ex-​corporate leader, I’ve found that doing what makes me happy and time with my wife and children is more important than a corporate title. Those accolades are great, but family’s most Important.

I learned long ago that I’m not to be trusted with ladders or power tools. Unfortunately, I also tend to have lots of project ideas that require such things. Enter Solomon. After my previous handyman retired, I found Solomon here on Unilocal and he has since completed a variety of projects inside and outside of my home. These have included drywall work, siding repairs, a bathroom vanity installation, and more. In addition to being skilled at his craft, he is extraordinarily professional and I genuinely enjoy working with him.

Solomon is the man for the job. I called him to remove a truckload of yard debris the previous owner of my home left in the backyard. We live in a townhouse where the only access to the street is through the house, so wheelbarrows were a no go. He got the job done in record time, made sure the interior of the house was clean when he left, and all for less than one of the big landscaping companies wanted to charge me just for drive time. I’ll definitely be calling Solomon up for all the work we need done in the future.

Highly recommend! Solomon and his team did a great job replacing a bunch of old style window hinges on two separate projects of mine. They were technical jobs that required patience and precision as most of the wood framed windows were large (heavy) and a couple stories off the ground. Prompt to the work site and great communicator for coordinating the work, an all around pleasure to work with. I plan on using Getter Fixed Handyman for other projects that I have coming up. If you need some work done, call him up!

I called Getter Fixed today and in 20 min D. Solomon showed up. I needed a couple of small holes in the wall fixed and a door latch. He has great customer service skills and is very quick in his work. He charged me what he quoted me and it was a very far amount.
I will use this business again if needed in the future!

Solomon and his crew were great! They showed up early for my appointments, they were professional, quick and tidy. I had a problem fitting my new stove into the space and they came out the day after I called, got all the work done, cleaned up after themselves and were very courteous. The work was done well, but the times when Solomon showed up became more erratic as the job went along. I have a flexible schedule, so I could handle it. But if you have a tight time schedule, I suggest you bargain hard about when things will get done.

They did a good job repairing a lock for us. There was a dispute regarding the bill as the verbal quote was for $ 60-​$ 80 and the bill was for $ 120. We paid the $ 120, but asked why it was so high. They indicated that parts was not included in the quote. They later reached out and ask what would be a fair refund. We ask for $ 20 to split the difference between the high-​end of the quote and the bill, and they sent $ 40 which was more than fair.

Soloman is exactly what everyone else mentions — timely, courteous, and flexible with his scheduling. He handled an issue at our investment property quickly and effectively and even followed up with pictures to let us know how the work looked. Such great service!

Solomon came to my rescue when I needed somebody with the tools and skills to install a new pull-​up bar in my fitness studio. I’m still not sure how he managed to drill into cinder block quietly, but I was able to handle phone calls and catch up on some office work while he worked. Plus, he did the whole job in his socks because he didn’t want to get the mats in my studio dirty. Most considerate handyman ever! Oh, and this was all on a Sunday afternoon to accommodate my schedule. A month later, and the pull-​up bar is holding strong and steady – and my clients love it!

Despite the major snow storm of 2014, Solomon arrived on time and ready for handyman work on a morning when he could have easily cancelled. Solomon did carpentry work repairing complicated wood decking, undercarriage and stairs, and did an excellent job. His rates are reasonable. Solomon is GREAT! My partner and I had tried to hang drapes — leaving one off-​center bracket and a lone drill bit in the wall. He not only was right on time (early, actually; and texted me to see if it was OK to come up early) but came completely ready and prepared. He got things set straight and hung. It all looks wonderful! He did it all for a flat fee. If we need anything handyman-​ish done again we will not hesitate to call Solomon. He is a nice guy, too.

Solomon assembled two beds for us after our recent move back to Portland. I could not recommend him more highly. He is prompt, courteous, professional and has a great attitude. After putting the beds together he was meticulous in cleaning up and took the packaging out to the recycling bins. The price he charged was also very reasonable. A pleasure to do business with.
