Gardenias are hard to find. A competitor (THANK YOU LUBLINER !) introduced me to Geranium Lake when I could not find a gardenia corsage. Hannah and Kim were incredible! They had no gardenias available on short notice and I HAD TO have the corsage in less than 48 hours… Undaunted, Kim personally visited a local grower, selected and harvested two (2) blooms, brought them to the shop, crafted a Gorgeous Corsage with a Sterling (purple) Rose, and had it for me to pick up in a 24 hour time frame. My jaw dropped at the price: $ 5 LESS THAN any other retailer I spoke to, and was turned down by, before I found GERANIUM LAKE!
Wowee Howee I am impressed! PS. I disagree with the reviewer who indicated they were «Pricey»…I think I got MORE THAN I PAID FOR in service, quality and attitude!

So happy with the order I placed online… The response time was incredible — my order was processed and on its way before I had a chance to follow-​up. And the arrangement was MASSIVE and GORGEOUS… It was way more than I expected based on the photo online. This florist definitely knows the meaning of under promise and over deliver. THANK YOU!

I walk by this place every day and their lovely ever changing display catches my eye every time. You can expect high quality plants and beautiful flowers from this place. I bought a big pot of hydrangeas and is very satisfied on how good and healthy this plant really is compared to anywhere else I could find. You can also order off their catalog if you don’t see it in their store. Service is professional and friendly. Price can be a bit higher, but you know it includes quality. The pop-​up sales and fun events keeps this place exciting. Get on their email list :)

Ordered flowers in advance for an anniversary and specified ‘no pink and no roses’. Upon pick up the bouquet was ALL pink and there were 3 focal roses as well. Bummer! We tried this place out for the first time after seeing a wedding arrangement, although the display is beautiful, the flowers already died this morning; just 2.5 days after purchase. I feel like they just grabbed a bouquet from their fridge rather than creating a new one to our specifications.
I get flowers often, while I can look past the pink, I have never had flowers die this soon. The stems on several flowers have rotted, so I wasn’t able to revive the bouquet like I normally do.

Geranium Lake is an outstanding flower shop, as good a shop as you will find anywhere. I use them when sending flowers in the Portland area and I’m always thrilled with the flowers and the service. So is the person that gets the flowers!

I must say Geranium Lake flowers never lets me down! I live out of town and call them every year on my mom’s birthday for an arrangement. Needless to say they always go above and beyond even if I need something the same day. The flowers are beautiful and my mom could not be happier! Thank you!

Wonderful service and beautiful, unique bouquets that I purchased as a gift. Requested for a floral, scented bouquet and they delivered. I keep coming back!

If you are looking for a florist to do the wrong thing for your wedding, then you found the right place. Not only will they do that, they will also assure that they won’t fix the problem for you accordingly. If that isn’t enough incentive, they will also make sure to excuse themselves for not getting what they promised you. They will defend themselves by explaining it as their artistic freedom, when you are very specific that certain things have to be done a certain way due to cultural beliefs. Geranium Lakes is definitely not for someone with a budget, but besides that be prepare to receive what you never ask for and not receive what you did ask for. If you have money to splurge and want items and flowers missing and against your will… you got a winner here.
If a planner recommends or tells you Geranium Lake is a wonderful floral vendor… your best bet is to expect the same low quality service from them as well. In Geranium Lake’s situation, you do not get what you pay for. They maybe great for a one time thing or for people who think care what their wedding or event looks like. For the others who gives a crap about their event and wedding, BEWARE! My husband and I have learned some huge lessons from our wedding:
1) They will try to become your friend. Always remember to keep business separate.
2) They will make all types of promises. Make sure to read through the paperwork to see that all your requests are written down correctly to the dot.
3) Make sure to take pictures of the try out day and write down what changes were made and agreed upon.
4) Email correspondence is safer and to keep all records of it.
5) DO NOT write CHECKS of any kind. Make sure to use credit card.
6) Find a planner who refuses to work with them. They know what they are talking about.
7) Read reviews and do your research. Trust the negative reviews more than the positive ones.
We deeply regretted not working with several florists that would have been more reliable and with as wonderful creations for much more reasonable price and fresher flowers.

I’ve used them for a number of years and they have done a great job delivering quality for any price point. I’ll continue to use them.

My first experience with Geranium Lake was a few years ago when my best friend sent me flowers for my birthday… the arrangement that showed up was not like anything I’d ever seen — I loved getting something other than a bunch of flowers in a standard glass vase. Since then I have used their services a few times myself. Is it more expensive than other places? Possibly… Do you like to impress the people you send flowers to? Of course… Is it worth paying a little more to get something that people won’t expect and feel like maybe you put a little extra effort into? Absolutely!
On another note, I’m on the board of a local non-​profit organization and one thing Geranium Lake does is help non-​profits with their floral arrangements for events. I contacted them and set up a meeting and gave them my budget… I figured there was no way they would take me seriously. Not only did they take me seriously, they worked with my tiny budget and let us come in and do the arrangements (with help of a staff member) and helped make our event a success!
I have had nothing but pleasant interactions with all of the staff members and owner of this business and will continue to support them.

You pay a premium here. Let’s start with that. You are however buying premium products. Every single arrangement I’ve ever had them do has been met with praise. No the typical «Oh these are nice flowers» but more along the lines of «Wow. Where did you get these!!!» What I usually do is walk in with a dollar amount in mind and have them create something based on the occasion and they’ve always delivered. The quality of their flowers cannot be beat. Every day they bloom more and keep recreating themselves in to something new. Absolutely beauitful.

I have been a customer of Geranium Lake flowers for over 15 years. I am an Interior Designer and VERY PCKY about what I want my clients, friends and family members to receive. This is not an FTD Florist, this is not your run of the mill flower shop. I never spend less than $ 100 on an arrangement. I always have a very definite idea about color, size, style of the arrangements that I order. I am not easy to work with, I always ask what flowers are available and give explicit instructions about how the arrangement should look. Never once in all this time has anyone at Geranium Lake ever given me anything but stellar service. I will say that I have never met the owner, but I have never needed to — her employees are fantastic!
The floral arrangements that I have commissioned have been works of art and to this day anyone that has received one still talks about it. I send my Mother-​in-​law at least 2 a year and she is always impressed (as well as her Portland Garden Club friends) by the beauty of the flowers.
I would not hesitate to use GLF for any event, large or small.

Please…, Amazing? Really, friends of hers put to task an attempt to offset the bad reviews. The reality is Kim is a cookie-​cutter of her own design. I know credentialed floral arranging artists who have been in the biz over 30yrs, hired by her, who were not allowed to express their visions because, as previously stated; Kim’s way or the highway… Ooops! Did that come out? Well, let me assure you that is just the tip of the iceberg… did i mention client-​stealing? Yes, Kim will stop at nothing to acquire the clientele she hasn’t the gumption to secure on her own… Rather, she’d like to slip offers to employees of said desired clientele targets, promise them the moon in partnership (Holland buying trips, newest electronic gadgets, pay raises) get the clients, then offload the traitor… not good biz-​Karma if you ask me… you know the saying? What goes around…
OK, those small insider-​details aside… the fact remains that this florist has set designs from which to choose, you will NOT be offered anything different & if you so much as bat an eye, turn a nose, or offer some input? Kim will not only proceed to tell you how you don’t know current trends, in the rudest manner possible, but she will further insult you with more blasé examples of artistic-​stifled, wall flower designs that you either adhere to or go elsewhere.
Save your Money, let Karma become reality, and trust the review written by someone who took the time within their busy schedule… for a Reason

If you’re getting married, call Geranium Lake Flowers. My flowers were unique and beautiful. I had heard a lot of positive reviews about the business and chose them for my wedding day. I would not hesitate to make the same choice again. Easy to deal with and great results. Kim is stellar!

The owner is charismatic, eager to help, good at putting us at ease through the planning process. There were minor errors in documenting color preferences etc, and types of flowers initially. We were happy with the two mock-​ups we saw (the third was never shown to us). My toss bouquet was never brought to us. The boutonnieres were ok, and the bridesmaids bouquets were made with the wrong ribbon colors, etc. The ceremony flowers (pew arrangements, as well as two huge several hundred altar arrangements) were filled with lots of greenery (something we DID NOT want– nor was shown in any mock-​ups). Reception flowers: table arrangements had greenery in them, again something not wanted or agreed upon. Since the toss bouquet was «forgotten in their fridge» explained via a text from the owner, Kim, and no one bothered to bring it to us (the flowers were dropped off early in the day), we scrambled to find bridesmaids bouquets to toss. Terrible. All of these things were noticed while looking through wedding photos (on the wedding day there were too many things going on to notice errors in flowers). We agreed to go over our budget because the owner agreed to give us a payment plan, with interest added on if it’s not paid by a certain date. So we agreed to spend 10K+ on flowers and rentals through her. After the wedding, we received bills with incorrect prices, billed for items never received, owner ran a credit cards without verbal permission or contacting us prior to doing so– then refused to return funds charged to an incorrect credit card. Incorrect bills were sent, payments weren’t documented, very rude texts. To this day, 12÷20÷12 Kim is still filing incorrect invoices. Fraudulent. If you want to hire an business for your event that will take advantage of you and harrass you when she sees fit, and disregards your specific requests, hire Geranium Lake. I DO NOT recommend this vendor. OVERPRICED and UNDER DELIVERS

Nice shop, but indifferent owner. The thing is, she increased her prices 50% five days before Valentines Day. In fact right in front of me! Nah. it just didn’t feel good. How to quickly dispose of a prospective customer.

Yes, as another reviewer said, Geranium Lake isn’t exactly a budget shop. But you don’t go to Geranium Lake because you’re trying to save money; you go because you are commissioning an artist to create a masterpiece! That is exactly how I felt about my experience working with Kim. I still can’t believe how beautiful she made our wedding. I provided her with a general idea of our (my!) wedding style and just let her roll with it. It’s been about 6 months since the big day and when I look at our pictures I am in awe of how absolutely beautiful she made everything.
I highly recommend Geranium Lake.

Hmm, I will knock of one star because it is quite expensive (for ptown income levels) but I mean, come on, look at the price before you place your order.
I was a temp nearby for a couple months back when I still held out hope of being able to live in portland and get paid well. I saw this place a few times while running errands in big pink. It’s small but they have a broad selection and lovely display. They had king protea, the national flower of South Africa, which I thought was cool. They occasionally have sales; I bought a $ 5 slightly droopy live hyacinth that’s still going strong today. My employers got a few bouquets here and they always got rave reviews but yes, they do run in the $ 45-​$ 60+ range. They’re fairly creative and use really nice local and/​or unusual content in their arrangements and sometimes include glass or other types of reusable vases.
I never had any issues with extra fees or surprise charges. I also never had any problems with the employees. You can ‘create an account’ online and then just bill to that credit card when you next place an order — very convenient for businesses.
If you want cheap flowers buy a vase at the bins and some individual cuts at new seasons.

I was cleaning out my wallet earlier and came across a Geranium Lake Flowers business card, so I thought I’d Unilocal them.
I worked a two month temp job in the Bank Tower this summer and got well-​acquainted with the Starbucks and yummy salad buffet on the first floor (I really wish I could remember the name of the salad place because it’s cheap and really good… it’s next to Geranium Lake Flowers if that helps… they have chicken teriyaki too).
Anyways, one day I decided to go into Geranium to order my mom some flowers. She had been having a really rough couple of weeks, so I wanted to get something to cheer her up. I didn’t have much time to go through and put together something really nice, so I talked with one of the ladies there and asked if she could put something cheerful together for my mom. She was really friendly and totally patient as she listened to me try to explain just what I was looking for. I had a somewhat limited amount of money to spend and, after talking with her a bit, I decided to pay the amount I was comfortable with and trust that she would put together something really nice. My only request: that she include some of the super-​cute sunflowers they had all over the shop.
Long story short: my mom bawled like a baby when she received a HUGE vase of colorful flowers at work that afternoon. I was so surprised to see how many flowers (and how large of an arrangement and vase) my small/​moderate amount of money produced. Shipping was super cheap, so I know that definitely helped, but I was definitely surprised.
Overall, I was pretty impressed with the place. I had a really good experience with them and would definitely use them again if I were to end up back at the tower and needing to cheer someone up.
