I’m was so happy with my visit!
I brought my MacBook in when the screen was flashing and wouldn’t work for me anymore. I was told it was a flaw the manufacturer would repair for free. I wasn’t charged for the help and they even helped me book my appointment with Apple to bring my MacBook in. I ended up saving over $ 600 dollars with their help.

My old iMac shat the bed after innumerable years (OK, 9 years) of mistreatment and way fun graphics work. That said, none-​too-​surprisingly the graphics processor failed, but I didn’t know that, I make logos and stuff so the tech love isn’t there for me. Erick at Geeks4Mac… that guy’s got the love. And he broke it to me gently: Replacement processor was gonna be more than the machine is worth. Result: Erick just ramped up my new machine with all my old graphics and programs and I’m back at it. He didn’t charge at all for diagnosing my old machine’s ills, just for updating my new one.
The ONLY issue I had was communicating, and I see the light, now. In order to allow these guys to actually work on machines (focus on fixing them) AND keep prices low (not hire more staff to answer phones) is to do comm via e-​mail only. You call an appointment setter to set appointments, or email, and the tech guys can «converse» via email. It’s a lean operating system that works.

Thank you Unilocal for helping me find this place! I took my Mac in thinking I had a virus because my search engines were infested with highlighted and bolded links to external webpages. I scheduled the 30 minute initial support appointment, came in with my Mac and Eric took care of my problem and installed a program to help with this problem if it were to happen again – free of charge! I will definitely be coming back here again if I ever have a more serious problem with my Mac. Thank you Eric!

Simply amazing! Honest and helpful staff. My laptop was fried cause of water damage. I brought it in and the technician was upfront about the difficulty. A week later I received the email that the repair was unsuccessful. I was charged nothing for their week of work. If I even need work on my Macs, I am bringing it here. Great company!

Full Disclosure: I work in IT as a consultant in and around the Portland Area. Also, this is a long review and will directly name other companies and my experience and why I absolutely LOVE Geeks4Mac.
TL;DR Version — Stop reading. Call them now. My only negative is that they don’t work on tablets/​smartphones. Otherwise you can bet I’m sending people there when my workload is too much.

Now then; I had a Macbook Air from 2009 that had gone through the wringer over the years. Unfortunately, a hinge broke off the machine. No big deal, right? And I needed the thing repaired in a hurry. No big deal, right? Nope. The big negative about Apple products is that they’re only made in one country, that being China. Because of that, and the fact that there’s a new model about every six months, few places keep parts in stock. Even so, I knew from my own experiences that the parts wouldn’t be that expensive nor take that long to do.
I called MacForce, and they wanted $ 750 to add some screws and reattach the screen. Absolutely not. To their credit, they were clear that they didn’t have the parts in stock.
Next place, I tried The Mac Store on NE Multnomah. They kindly took $ 50 for check-​in, sat on it for a week, then wanted $ 750+. By their own admission, they opened the box, saw the condition and wanted to REPLACE THE WHOLE SCREEN, hinges and all! (the screen itself, by the way, worked fine. It was just the hinge. (I later got an email from their Lead Service Tech who gave a song and dance about «parts for an old machine being difficult to source and the screen was ‘irreparable’ because the bezel was removed and needed a full replacement.») Uh huh. Sure. At least they refunded the $ 50, but I was still a week or more behind.
(A reminder; a «bezel» is the metal frame around the screen. It’s held on by only adhesive and doesn’t affect the screen at all. The screen itself had no actual issue with it; it just needed to be reattached.)
Enter Geeks4Mac. I walked in. Placed the machine on the counter. Answered a few questions. Paid nothing up front.
I got an email within 24 hours detailing what needed to be done, what my options were for parts, guesstimate of turnaround time and shipping times for parts.
Later, I found that the WIFI antenna was also apparently damaged. Honestly? My guess it was from The Mac Store, who last handled it. G4M replaced that, too.
Total bill? $ 250 and change and finished in less than a few days once the parts arrived. No hard sell. No trying to repair what wasn’t broken. No pushing, no shoving. Clear. Concise. Accurate. Honest. All words that describe my experiences with Geeks4Mac.

Needed data recovery from an old and «unfriendly» MacBook Pro. Erick was professional, communicative, prompt and not expensive. He gave several options and in considering my specific situation, recommended an approach. It was NOT the most expensive. He saved files and photos that I though might be gone forever. I highly and without reservation recommend Geeks4Mac.

Hi there. I brought my Macbook in last week, as I thought there was something seriously wrong (A virus or something along those lines). Erick could not have been nicer and quickly figured out what was going on. Erick was super courteous and completely willing to explain everything that was going on patiently and in depth. You could tell he liked helping people. It turned out that what was going was not really much of anything and he let me go free of charge. I will be a return customer for sure!

Intake was proficient and friendly, and technician Erick completed service for my MacBook quickly, during my visit from out of town. Drivers were interfering with my system startup and now everything’s working fine. Thanks so much, folks!

After Unilocaling Mac repairs in the Portland area and seeing so many good reviews, and not wanting to spend Apple Store prices, I decided to give these guys a shot. I set up my appointment online thru their website, and loved that they have tier pricing on their site so that you can ballpark how much your repair will cost. The location is a little odd if you’ve never been in the business park before, so definitely ask for directions. I dropped off my old MacBook which needed a fan replacement, and was greeted with great customer service which was personable but professional. They answered all my questions and I got an invoice about a week later in order to move forward with the repair. I agreed and got a personal email a few days later outlining how the repair went, extra steps that Erick took above and beyond to finish the job, and that my MacBook is done! I stopped by and checked out (you can also pay ahead of time online via paypal through your invoice) and picked up my computer. Runs like new! They said if you have any issues with the repair to just give a call and they’ll fix it pro bono. They also don’t mark up pricing for parts, which made the bill pretty reasonable. I had a great experience and will definitely go here for any future repair, and intend on telling all my friends to go to Geeks4Mac too! Thanks, Erick!

Excellent experience. We got a used MacBook Pro from our daughter which was barely limping along. Erick quickly diagnosed the problems, offered a menu of service options, and fixed it quickly. No BS
Erick also gave me instructions for a clean install of OS X. When I got stuck, he was willing to help me via email.
We now have a clean MacBook, running like new.

I first started working with Erick when he worked in an Apple Store and was one of the head «Genius’s». I had wonderful experiences with him there, and when I found out he was starting his own business specializing in Apple products I was thrilled. I have used Erick and Jeromi to solve some difficult problems (becasue of my own doing) and the keep things running smoothly. They are polite, professional, and most of all so skilled with anything Apple. I just recently bought a new iMac through Erick. They took my old computer and transferred everything and returned the new one in perfect order. No fuss, just up and running in a matter of a couple of days. Everything on the new computer was perfectly updated from the old. I could not be happier. Have been using Geeks4Mac for several (3 – 4 years) with nothing but great experiences. Have referred 6 – 7 friends and family, and they have all had the same experience. Nothing is too difficult for the «Geeks».

Perfect experience dealing with Geeks4Mac. My MacPro died on me at a bad time. Several people told me that it probably couldn’t be fixed and I should buy something new. I didn’t want to give up on it but I’m fairly new to Portland and didn’t know any repair shops. Based on the couple good reviews and their website I took a chance on these guys. It totally paid off! Erick brought it back to life. I had it back in hardly any time at all and Erick communicated with me thoroughly the entire time he had it. Extremely professional and easy to work with!
