Galore Department Store

I am normally an H&M and Forever shopper. Galore is my favorite boutique. Great atmosphere and spacious fitting rooms. Sales staff is relaxed doesn’t follow you around while you are just looking. I love it when I am wearing my headphones and some clueless sales person is talking to me from across the store, this never happens here.
The pieces are priced and merchandised very well. Not crowded at all. The only thing I wish they had were jeans. I am not going to knock a star off for this because everything else is awesome.

I do not know what I would do without Galore and Sloan (its kiddy-​corner neighbor).
Galore is a great little boutique. The floor is made of fake grass, there are two well lit dressing rooms, VERY sweet and helpful staff, great music… OH, and did I mention the owner buys fantastic pieces.
I came here, after getting my taxes back, with the intent of blowing some hard earned skrill (I said it). In the past I usually picked up one or two things at Galore. Over the weekend of 3÷12÷11 I found at least 12 pieces that I absolutely loved.
HINT: Make sure you get on their mailing list. They have great little events with discounts just for their favorite shoppers.

Galore generally takes me a look through once or twice before I find what I’m looking for (not that I ever know what I’m looking for). But their stuff is adorable and the prices are fantastic. I also have two or three dresses from their that I’m guaranteed multiple compliments on. And I looovvveee compliments.
Depending on the day the sales girls will either be fantastic or a little nowhere to be seen. Not that they’re ever bad, just depends on what level of service you like.

I should first note that this place is outdoorsy «navigator» themed, with world globes and faux-​grass carpeting. So you know, that alone should warrant a visit.
You know, I tend to find stores on 23^rd lacking in customer service. It could possibly be because the workers have some sense of entitlement (that is, the idea that we the customer need them instead of vice-​versa).
But here at Galore, they gave me some great customer service from the moment I walked through the door. The girls working there were cute and sweet, and even though I lingered over a dress (that I didn’t end up buying), they were still cool–
Also, the selection is great and the prices are moderate– unlike some other places (which could easily fetch prices around $ 200), Galore had some really cute scarves for $ 20 and Gloves for $ 30.
Ahh, 23^rd makes it wayyyy too easy for me to spend my money!

Funky, cool, and affordable.
Purchased a swanky dress for $ 39 and a retro motorcycle shirt for $ 31.
Dressing rooms are comfortable and bright.
Sales peeps are easy going and fun.

I’m not a bandwagon person. I’m not one to fall for something just because everyone else does. But when I kept hearing about how much people loved Galore I decided to check it out. And now, I’ve fallen head over heels. Their style fits mine perfectly, which is to say that whether I’m feeling preppy or whimsical or even just undefined, I can often find something that I really love. There’s lots of places that I go that I love one time and am kind of meh about the next. But Galore never fails to make my little heart sing.

I Heart Galore! And unless you know it’s a shop, that last sentence wasn’t even grammatically correct!
The merchandise has the same feel like BP in Nordstrom, but far cheaper. Haha!
I bought a pair of herringbone-​patterned ballet flats for $ 10.
$ 10. AND they were comfortable. And then my dog decided to eat them. But I was only out $ 10, so it still sucked, but was no big deal.
How many other shops can give you that feeling?
I can’t wait to go back and buy more cheap shoes that my dog may or may not eat.

The economy is so good, this place can afford to ignore customers!

I LOVE Galore. Any trip to the Alphabet District requires a stop here, just to check out what’s new.
There are two things you must know about me before I write this review. 1. I hate shopping. 2. I am cheap. And if you know anything about PDX, NW 23^rd isn’t exactly the best street for cheap non-​shoppers.
Enter Galore. This cute little shop always boasts interesting items, from cute dresses to intriguing jewelry to colorful flats. And it’s all relatively inexpensive.
Enter Exhibit A: This weekend, the boyf and I entered the store and he quickly found a very cute black and white spring floral dress. Only $ 20! I try it on. It fits my petite self perfectly! Oh wait… there’s some loose threads around the zipper. I take it to the counter and the very beautiful woman working there says, «We’ll give you a discount.» In my head, I imagine a 10% discount, max. She gives it to me for $ 15! Who gets a dress for $ 15 these days, unless it’s from F21?
Exhibit B: A few months ago, I went with a friend to Galore and we fell in love with a green pea coat. It was $ 108. Not cheap, but not terrible for a pea coat. I didn’t get it, but later changed my mind. I went back almost three weeks later and it was gone. I am still mourning the loss of that pea coat. Lesson learned? If you love something from Galore, get it. It won’t be there long.

I know, I know. You want to look hip, but don’t have the money for high-​end boutiques and the thought of braving the two stories of Forever 21 at Pioneer Place makes you queasy. Welcome to Galore, ladies. Decently made and priced trendy pieces; lots of choice but not overwhelming. I usually end up buying jewelry here, and a bracelet I spent 12 bucks on gets me no end of compliments every time I wear it.
The sales girls can be wrapped up in conversation sometimes (with each other) but I don’t mind. There’s nothing worse than being pounced on and offered a belt, shoes and earrings to go with the t-​shirt you’ve got picked out.

uh, please allow me to defend my good name… while i respect ol’ A.F.‘s dedication to truth being told, one line of local jewelry does not a locally-​focused boutique make.
it’s an effort, and that’s great.
and it’s a small portland business, so i suppose i’d rather support them than Forever 21 (which again, i will maintain has had some of the EXACT same clothes w/​different tags AND again i’m not above shopping there, but i still have opinions).
and i know a thing or two about those LA markets, and the CHEAP stuff you can get there, so just because other boutiques all ’round are jacking up the prices for the janky stuff they get, doesn’t mean i’m down with it.

OMG — I’m having a GALORGASM.
The lust built over time — constantly walking past Galore, cooing in the way that only Rachel Green could: «hiiiii booooots…» But until recently, I never let the temptation take hold, assuming that boots that cute MUST be well over my price range… simply out of my league.
But here’s the thing… Galore wears you down. It’s like a form of foreplay. They strategically place the cutest shoes in the window, and unless you have some omnipotent powers of restraint, before long — you too will have to flirtatiously venture into this store… just to look… of course.
And when that day comes, expect to have the Galorgasm that I have been enjoying when you flip over the boots to see the most beautiful sight: 42 DOLLARS.
Are you kidding? Can something this good, this cute, this galorgasmic really be this inexpensive? But that’s not all! Galore has some of the cutest jewelry for under $ 15 as well!
Listen ladies (and exceptionally savvy gents) — I’m not condoning cheap thrills here. All I’m sayin’ is that sometimes you need to be satisfied in the way that only retail therapy can.

i have a weakness for coats and this place just about killed me! EEK but in a good way!
i was reluctant to look at the price tag for fear i would have to take a loan out to buy a whole outfit, but to my surprise the prices weren’t so bad at all! :)
i was mainly borwsing so i wasn’t really looking for anyone to help me, but the gal working did say hello and asked how i was doing when i walked in… unfortunately it’s like pullin teeth to get someone to do that sometimes…
i look forward to coming back here again the next time i’m back in portland

One of the better stores on 23^rd. Mostly because they have a killer sale rack and a buncha shoes that aren’t too pricey. Some of the merch can be a little overwhelming for an ameteur. The sales staff can seem distracted, but the place isn’t that big, so its not that big of a deal.
