History
Established in 2003.
The name Four Winds Restorative Grounds is derived from and pays homage to the fact that, to indigenous peoples, the number four plays a very significant role in our individual lives and in the universe… there are four divisions of time: day, night, moon, year. There are four elements; there are four races of man; there are four seasons; even the human heart is divided into four components and, most importantly, there are four directions (or winds).
The four winds symbolize knowledge and wisdom, both of which need to be integrated into one’s character and life. The East Wind supports spirituality, the SouthWind promotes perception, the West Wind promotes knowledge while the North Wind supports. All of these forces must come together in each life to achieve balance and harmony for the mind, body and spirit.
Thus, the name is apropos for a location that provides wellness, health maintenance and, above all, peace to anyone who seeks treatment there.
