History

Established in 2009.

With over 25 years of optical experience owner Phil DeYoung wanted to open a local optical shop with unique product, great service and a knowledgeable staff. We have gained a reputation for producing quality glasses in a fun environment conveniently located in Bridgeport Village, just south of downtown Portland.

Eye Styles is a truly independent Optometric Practice, locally owned and operated Dr. Christopher Thorsland, O.D. and Phil DeYoung.

Dr. Thorsland went on to receive his degree in optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry. Before his days at Eyestyles, Dr. Thorsland was the clinical director, staff optometrist, and area director of optometry for the West Coast with Lasik Plus. He opened Eyestyles at Bridgeport in 2009.

Phil have been in the optical business since 1982, starting as a lab technician and working his way up through several of the largest optical retail companies in the Country. As a VP of Operation he realized that his greatest pleasure was working with customers, something he rarely got to do when traveling around the country doing store visits. The Eye Styles vision is to provide high levels of personalized service from knowledgeable opticians who have that same passion.
