Emily Harwood, LMT

I’ve been seeing Emily monthly for almost a year now for chronic headaches and neck spasms and I can say that she is a true gem. My visits are always the highlight of my week. A couple of the reasons I continue to see Emily in no particular order:
1.) Convenient location one block from work. I don’t drive, but I think that she also validates parking for those who need that.
2.) Cozy and intimate space with great lighting. Love the small touches like hot delicious tea and water with goji berries
3.) I haven’t tried this yet as I don’t have a ipod or smart phone, but Emily has mentioned to me before that she’s totally cool with you plugging in your own music for the massage. If you choose to listen to her music it is your typical non-​offensive soothing massage flute/​nature music.
4.) Emily is the sweetest person and you can tell that she genuinely cares about your well-​being. She begins each massage with gathering information on how your feeling and any updates to how the body is going. She takes detailed notes each visit and is able to pick up the conversation right where you left off last session. She listens to you and always has a sympathetic ear and offers a smile. Sometimes I even feel that my appointments with her double as therapy haha.
Her customer service is also amazing – She remembers your preferences (like essential oil scents and table heat) and has them all set for you before you even enter the room.
5.) The massages are very gentle but very effective. I hate masseuses who prescribe to the philosophy of harder=better. I always leave my appts with her feeling 100% rejuvenated mentally and my headaches and neck pain clear up for a few days as well. Never any pain or flinching due to the massage being too hard.
My one piece of advice is to go make your appt. as soon as you can and to not expect to get in immediately. She books afternoon massages (post 3pm) about a month in advance.

I’ve been to Emily twice and have nothing but good things to say! Her space is great, very relaxing and warm. She gives amazing massages and really listens to what you need done. I would definitely recommend her!

What a wonderful experience. As my first Shiatsu massage, this was incredible, and gosh darn it, now I’m hooked. Emily was attentive and perceptive, and I could tell she truly connects with her work and cares about her customers’ well being. I highly recommend her services to anyone interested in decreasing stress and treating themselves to some deep relaxation. I am still feeling blissed out, a day and a half later.
