Elena is a straight up ROCKSTAR! She made the stress of buying a first home while living in a different state as smooth as possible. Because we were not able to fly up and see the majority of the homes we were interested in, she went to each one and took detailed videos of each floor and each room. At times she even brought in contractors (for free) to assess how much work the houses would need or to price out things we felt needed to be done. One time she even went on a covert op to check out a home that wasn’t listed because I fell in love with a photo. She also provided valuable insight on the neighborhoods we were looking in and tactfully educated us about purchases we would have later regretted.
We were not easy clients. It being our first home, there were a lot of emotions. We wanted a lot for a little and we dramatically changed what we were looking for several times. From a single family home, to a four plex, to a condo, back to a single family home. From the west side, to the east side, back again. There were many houses, many offers and a few cases of straight up cold feet. However with every new house and game plan we choose to pursue, Elena treated it with the same amount of time, care and patience she did when I asked her to check out the very first house. The house I excitedly declared we «for sure» wanted on our first phone call.
Choosing the right realtor is a very personal choice and there are a lot of realtors out there but I can’t imagine a more wonderful realtor than Elena. She isn’t just great at what she does, she is a really great person too.

This review is almost a year overdue. We bought our house in Portland in February of 2014. We were from out of state and came to Portland for a week to check out houses. We bought one within that week. She helped make the buying process go very smoothly, even though we were still living out of state during escrow.
When we arrived to look at houses, Elena made us feel comfortable right away and listened to our needs, wants, and budget. She gave us an overall tour of Portland to give us an idea of the different areas.
Elena is a good mix of being friendly and professional. She seemed genuinely excited for us to find a place in Portland. She is also very enthusiastic about this city, and after living here now for almost a year, that enthusiasm is not misplaced.
I would recommend using Elena, especially if you’re coming from a different area or out of state.

We love Elena! We are first time home buyers and we started looking for houses in April. Our budget was small, and even though the market was moving very rapidly, Elena was very patient with us.
We finally found a home at the end of June — we are in the final steps of finally being home owners! Elena has been helpful, and did I mention patient? She did an excellent job at working with both my husband and myself and understanding our needs.

Amy Seaholt helped us find a great house in Portland. It took us much longer to decide on a place than we thought it would but Amy was patient, showed us a variety of properties, suggested other areas we hadn’t considered, and didn’t try to rush us into making a decision we would later regret. She was recommended to us by a friend who was equally impressed with her dedication and honesty. We have since recommended her to other friends who have been very happy with her. Amy is very professional, friendly, positive, honest, and we have no hesitation recommending her to others.

Elena Macphee from Rose City Realtors did an awesome job helping our family buy our first home. At the beginning of the process when we were still uncertain just what kind of home we were looking for and where, Elena was very patient with our waffling and also went out on a limb to try to find homes that we might have been interested in. I had considered myself a very good researcher in terms of what was available, so I was always pleased when she would suggest a home or a location that I hadn’t already researched.
When it came time to finally buy our home, we ran into some snags but Elena was great. The snags came primarily from our first lender and she helped me to find a better lender (Jodi White from Summit Mortgages) who was incredibly friendly, honest and most importantly: RELIABLE.
I don’t have a frame of reference for other realtors, but I did enjoy my experience with Elena and I think you will too.

Elena made our home buying experience the joyful, low-​stress accomplishment that it should be. She helped us manage all of the paperwork with a tidy binder. She kept us up to speed with every event in real time. We were left with no lingering questions or doubts. After more than 15 years in banking, I know how confusing and nerve racking such an experience can be, but Elena makes it fun.

Elena came to us as a referral from a mutual friend. Although we were quite nervous about finding the right realtor to sell our first home, Elena made us feel at ease from the beginning. She always told us the truth, listened to all of our concerns, and worked with us to get the best price for our home within our time frame, despite a challenging market.
