Da Tung & Xi’an Bao Bao

This elephant is adorable. This art piece manages to be lively among a beautiful park, although homeless people are constantly around. It has an oriental feel to it. Kids sometimes climb on top, perhaps that’s a reason for an adult to become physically fit.
I enjoyed seeing this. It was such a heartbreak when a fence surrounded the sculpture for so long. The designs are intricate and creative. This is not in the Louve, but this is lovely in that it is an elegant set of designs and nature which makes the local community just a bit more interesting.

This statue of a baby elephant standing on its dad is kind of cute. It is covered with all kinds of shapes. While the statue is fairly new it is based on a much smaller pitcher that is very old. I like that the location is very visible but I wish it didn’t feel as sketchy.

This is one of my favorite sculptures downtown. It’s actually an enlarged replica from the Shang Dynasty, created in 2002. It’s one precious packaderm!
