Ch Physical Therapy

Sprained my mcl, knew about CH from Colin’s radio days and wanted to rehab at their facility. Trish did an excellent job with me. I learned better and consistent ways to stretch and work on flexibility. I have plenty of strength and conditioning exercises to use that I now have memorized. Pictures are included with the exercises and stretches– really helpful. I also was provided with an updated exercise log complete with reps via Googledocs. I also looked forward to each session, as my PT Trish always made things fun and got to know me well. I have made a full recovery, continue to play soccer competitively and plan to return to CH for periodic fitness training in general. I had a great experience for nine months of rehab on my knee. I highly recommend CH Physical Therapy.

I’ve had several periods of physical therapy over some decades. This is my best experience. Sammi Bair-​Jones is professional and thorough. She has the expertise and takes the time to be sure that my exercise movements are precise and correct – I can see that this makes a big difference in the effect and result.

When I had a strained hip in October 2014, no one had told me how long it would take to recover fully. But coming to this clinic turned out to be the best decision I could have made to facilitate my recovery.
As soon as I called your clinic to make my first appointment, I was impressed with your friendly staff (Patty), and when I came in, I immediately felt comfortable and knew I had made the right choice.
Trish started me on exercises that were always challenging and never extended me too much. With her good sense of humor and ability to read people so well, she was able to coach and reassure me when I was having self-​doubts about my ability to fully recover again.
It took about four months of twice-​weekly therapy for me to regain full range of motion, and now my hip is in better shape than my «healthy» one. Now, I am back to my active lifestyle doing jiu jitsu, running, and surfing/​snowboarding. More importantly, I am continuing my exercises to prevent future injuries due to the knowledge I have gained from these peeps… Mahalos, Trish and CH Physical Therapy!

Significantly better than any hospital based or other private PT clinic in the greater Portland area. The physical therapists work one on one with you for an hour. Other places, the physical therapist does a five minute exam then sends you off with some gym assistant. The physical therapists here are able to identify the problem, help work towards a solution, and offer encouragement along the way. I have had significant strength and mobility improvement, and relief from chronic pain. I’m so grateful for the referral to CH PT, they are highly respected in the medical community. By the way, their billing is extremely reasonable and flexible, and the entire staff is friendly and courteous. You should read Colin’s response to Tim’s negative review for the entire story.
If you need short term therapy for an injury or help from chronic pain, this is a great clinic.

High turnover of staff and a non flexible billing dept make this place a total joke to me. If you want help go to the gym and get a personal trainer for a fraction of the price. They give a typical workout to everyone without any specifics. I’ll never go back.

I’m always amazed at how highly trained people just know stuff that I wouldn’t even think to ask. Sydney was a total pro.
The only thing I didn’t like was how PT attention gets divided at the beginning and end of appointments as other patients come and go. If I wanted to ask questions or get feedback on my form, I had to wait while she was with another patient. I understand the need to keep things quick and efficient, but for what PT costs, I would expect a bit more undivided attention.
I came in with some back pain from an exacerbated old trampoline injury. Sydney put me on the table and identified the source of my pain in just a few minutes. Tiny little supporting muscles that had gone out of whack.
She gave me some pretty intense exercises to do, but they worked. It’s been about three months since we started and I’m 95% free of previous chronic pain.

This is my second round of physical therapy following spinal surgery over a year ago and my first time at C.H. Physical Therapy. Loving my time and really seeing progress! Jillian is great. She really emphasizes proper form and constantly monitors my performance making adjustments as needed. Can’t emphasize enough how important that feedback is. Don’t get me wrong, my first physical therapist was great. He got me stronger and I made progress but I developed bad habits since I was unable to isolate the actual issues that were causing my problems. Jillian advises me on proper form and gives me the «why» I need to do something the proper way to prevent my body from «cheating», allowing my strong muscles to compensate for my weaker ones. Needless to say it’s been eye opening and educational. Highly recommended!

I spiral fractured my right tibia and fibula in March of last year (2012) playing sports and had to undergo some pretty serious surgery. Spiral fractures are pretty nasty because it’s not just a clean break and requires some extra hardware to reduce the bone back into place. I ended up with a titanium rod needing to be inserted into my tibia along with screws at the top and bottom in order to help hold the rod in place.
I was in some major pain during my initial recovery period while still on crutches and was beginning to wonder if I’d ever be able to use my right leg normally again. Per my doctor’s instructions, I sought out a physical therapist to help me with the recovery and significantly increase my chances of a full return. I decided to give c.h. Physical Therapy a try because I’ve had very satisfied family use them before for personal training.
I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful working with c.h. Physical Therapy was. First, my right leg is back to complete normalcy (minus the occasional discomfort from the contraction and expansion of the metal in my leg). If anything, my leg feels stronger than it did before. They pushed me during our sessions and taught me many tricks to strengthen isolated parts of my leg. They emailed me different exercises to try, followed up with me and were truly concerned about my recovery. They even gave my leg very careful massages just to help make me feel better when I was in excessive pain or was extra sore.
I got to work with a few different therapists across different sessions and enjoyed every single one. They were all incredibly knowledgeable, personable and attentive to my needs. I’d highly recommend c.h. Physical Therapy to anyone!
