We are a manufacturer of shamanic and Native American style hoop drums, rattles, talking sticks, smudge fans and other tools for ceremony, ritual and healing work. All of our creations are made in a sacred way with ceremony and respect. We are also a retailer of indigenous instruments from around the world. We carry a large selection of Native American style wooden flutes, traditional drums from Africa & the Middle East, singing bowls & gongs from Asia and many other percussion instruments from all over. We sell raw materials & kits for drum making which include deer, elk, horse, moose & buffalo rawhide and cedar, willow oak & maple drum frames. We have a large selection of smudging herbs and accessories. In addition, we carry local traditional arts & crafts, and hard-to-find herbs, books, music and craft supplies. We offer various workshops at our location, please call for more information.

Established in 1988.
Cedar Mountain Drums was «birthed» in 1988 at 2237 E. Burnside St. in Portland, Oregon, and is still at this location.

Patrick P.
Business Owner
Patrick Pinson is the founder. Cedar Mountain was created following a Vision Quest by Patrick, who had made drums as a hobby for two years. Patrick had previously been a Gestalt Therapist, stockbroker, fund raising consultant and play therapist. He has published many articles on drumming as an alternative to drugs and alcohol to achieve high states, and has led drumming circles for corporations such as Nike, The Design Management Institute, prisons, churches and rehabilitation houses. Patrick leads weekly drumming circles here at our home. Patrick also leads circles for men, personal growth groups, and travels doing shows and drummaking workshops across the world.
