Alane is a classically trained musician living in Portland, OR. She has studied clarinet since the age of ten, and has taught privately for over ten years. She graduated from the University of Oregon School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance.

Committed to teaching all levels, Alane’s teaching philosophy encourages students to always ask questions and never be afraid to make mistakes. Her teaching technique fosters formulating one’s own opinion, creativity, and individualism. Alane highly values building a strong foundation with ear training, tuning, music theory, rhythm, and the ability to read music.

History

Established in 2000.

As a teenager, Alane began getting requests to teach lessons. What started out as one or two students became a full-​time passion and business.

Business Owner

Alane grew up in Salem, Oregon. She began playing the clarinet in grade school, and quickly became immersed in all things music.

Alane has performed with the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony, Eugene Symphony, University of Oregon Symphony, Eugene Ballet Orchestra, as well as productions of operas, recording of film scores, and in many small ensembles in the North West.
