Got the Brick Burger, probably in the top 10 messiest burgers I’ve ever eaten… not really in a good way. Their beers are decent, food is about on that same level. Our server was pretty mellow which I generally enjoy. Love you Danny Boiiiii

Upside: good beer! The Old Knucklehead barleywine was among the best I’ve tasted — true to style, not too bitter, nice and balanced. Also, the setting is really, really nice, big and modern. Walked in and the hostess greeted me right away.
Downside: the food. The clam chowder arrived cold, and was salty, tasted like it came out of a can. The service in the mezzanine was on the «unhurried» side — nice enough, the young lady tending bar was sweet. To her credit, she comped the chowder.
Would come back for the beer, but won’t eat here.

After visiting with a few friends from out of town, we were impressed with Bridgeport. It has a trendy and upscale vibe, especially the bar that is upstairs. We got there at the right time on a Friday afternoon, Happy Hour. We were able to get a few appetizers for half off! They also have an amazing deal on their beer flights. You get 8 testers for only $ 9!
The quality of the food and beer was good, but nothing stood out. Their service was GREAT though. Our server greeted us immediately & informed us of all the deals and gave her recommendations. She was very welcoming & friendly & seemed genuinely happy to serve us. We had to leave quicker than we anticipated so we explained that we were in a rush to leave, and she immediately split our checks & returned our receipts very quickly with a smile on her face. Based on their food & beer alone, I would give Bridgeport 3 stars, but their excellent service, great deals, and unique environment bump them up to 4 stars in my book.

Food is so so. Service is tip top. It’s the Pearl. You’re either going to wind up here (2 floors btw) or another gigantic place with burgers and beer. When people really criticize the carbon copied beer menus of all the places that feel like this one it’s pretty hilarious. This place is fine. It hasn’t reinvented the keg.

Avoid sitting at the tables on the 1^st floor directly under or near the 2^nd floor steel grated staircase and platform. You don’t want dust and particles flying down on your food and beer. You’ll know what I mean when you dine there :).

The best veggie burger I have ever had. Lots of places have and in-​house made healthy mush pile. This is crumbly mushroom goodness.
Vegan bowl also really top notch.

The ambiance was fun, bartender was nice (we sat at the bar), hot toddy and beer were good but the food was way sub-​par.
I had the Mediterranean Plate and my boyfriend had the Sloppy Jack. In general the food was insanely salty, to the point we left a lot on our plates and didn’t ask for to-​go boxes; and I HATE wasting food! I substituted tortilla chips for pita bread on the med plate, so the pita may have cut the salt BUT even after wiping each chip’s salt off with my napkin, I could barely stand each bite. My boyfriend got the Sloppy Jack; fries were so salty he only had two or three– and he loves salt!- and the sandwich lacked flavor.
If I go back again I will definitely ask around about what to get and what not to; I would not recommend ordering blindly!

A number of very good meals and my Celiac wife loves their Gluten Free food; and neither of us drink beer. This has become our regular dining spot when we spend weekends in Portland (we live on the coast, 2 hours away). We spend a lot of time in the climbing gym right down the street and Bridgeport is within walking distance of a lot of good stuff (REI, Cupcake Jones). I’ve had the Steel Pizza, the Sloppy Jack, and the Pretzel’s a number of times. Tried a friend’s Chile Verde and loved it. Had the Meat & Potato plate this week, a Double R Ranch NY Strip, asparagus and mashed p’s; excellent! Also had a bunch of other meals and enjoyed them; just don’t remember the dishes. Chocolate Chip Cookie in a skillet and the brownie desert are both very good. Love this place! Great Gluten Free options.

Recently, K and I invited some guests to have a late lunch and a brew at this classic old building. It really is lovely. Been here 3 times over 2 years. Service was very good with Eric. He greeted us quickly took our drink order. K had a New Zealand Sav Bland and I, I know I know, had a Tresaetum Pinot Noir. I merely felt that given my entrée choice, an Oregon pinot would better pair with my entrée. And boy was I right. This pinot with my penne pasta with chopped thin garlic masala sauce, sliced grilled chicken, and herbs was amazing.
K’s entrée was an English style shepards pie with mashed potatoes, stout beer braised beef, carrots, onions and peas all baked in an iron skillet. Wow! Fork tender and the flavors were terrific. With the iron skillet, 25 minutes later, her dish was still hot.
This is a class dining experience where you can have a large group, a party of 4, or an intimate drink with your squeeze. With 23% tip, lunch out the door at $ 55.00.

Just okay. I had a burger and I don’t regret eating it. It was just okay. I had a porter and it was just okay. The bar upstairs was a bit noisy and he metal stools were kind of uncomfortable after a point. It is big and roomy, and if I was going out with the office crowd I think this would be a good choice. But as my Friday night spot to celebrate the end of another work week? Nah, moving on.

I reluctantly went here for dinner while in town to visit my brother. It’s not that I’d heard bad things about the restaurant, I’ve just never been impressed by their brews.
I went with a couple pints of their rotational IPA (don’t recall the name)…meh. For a meal I went with the pork «medallions». I put medallions in quotes because they aren’t medallions… its two center cut pork chops. Also had spinach artichoke dip and felt like I forgot to wear my MC Hammer pants. Pretzels were pretty good. Decent meal but far from amazing. Service was good.
I won’t go back, mainly because their beer is rookie league and the food wasn’t enough to overcome that shortcoming.

My first brewery on this my first tour of portlands fermented hops and barley establishments. Did the 8 beer sampler and a cup of their vegan chili. So far 5 stars. Beer-​tender Connor moved like he was on dancing with the stars as he poured multiple samples at one time. My fav beer was the Old Knucklehead barley wine. And the chili was awesome!

We stopped here with out Brewvana tour. We had a set table and the service was fast! Food was great; pizzas, hummus plates, spinach dip and salads were all just what we needed to help us to continue with this beer tour! Not sure what else to say. This was our 3^rd stop I think, so it’s all a bit blurry but tasted oh, so good!

Solid beer line-​up. Modern restaurant type. Clever logo and «Bridge» theme. Their brewery t-​shirt even has a picture or sketch of all of the famous Portland bridges along the Williamette.
Didn’t try the food, but was along our craft beer crawl and it was worth the visit.

Trendy tourist trap. their beer is cheaper from the local grocery store and the food is stupid overpriced.
Dozens of better breweries and taproom restaurants with better beer and food. Pass on this.

Overall, not a bad experience here.

There were 6 of us total. My husband and I are from Seattle, we were with business associates from, Portland, Corvallis, & LA. As you can imagine, we took a few extra minutes deciding what we wanted to order. Our server got a little frustrated with us for not being ready for us to order when she was. Thankfully once we ordered she dropped the attitude.
3 of us ordered the salmon special. I definitely ate all of mine, it was good. I had the Hop Czar, which I already knew I liked.
I used the restroom here and it was a bit scary. I took a picture of it because, even though food tasted fine, it makes you worry when the restroom is a wreck, how does the kitchen look? Obviously no one had checked on the restroom in hours! The restaurant was not busy at this time in the evening, so there is no excuse as to why the restroom was so trashed and uncared for. It leaves doubt in your mind about the cleanliness of the establishment in general.
I would probably give these guys a second try. Hopefully they were just having an off night.

Just walking around the Pearl District and we ran into this brewery on a cloudy Friday afternoon. We saw that this was Oregon’s original craft brewery so we figured we were in for a treat. Even though it was cloudy, it didn’t feel too bad outside so we grabbed an outdoor seat, I had the Hop Czar before so I got the Kingpen Double Red Ale which was very good… wound up having 2 of them. We needed some food so we decided to check out the menus. The first thing I saw was a sloppy joe sandwich (they call it a sloppy jack) and from there my mind was made up as I haven’t had sloppy joe in quite awhile. The sandwich was really good and it made me wanna go out and buy Manwich LOL. The interior is very nice and has a great look to it. Our server Jeremy was really good at turning those beers around really quick.
We enjoyed this place and made it a launching pad to an awesome evening.

I came here for lunch on a super hot summer day, and I was pretty impressed! First of all, for a place that is, at its core, a brewery, they make a pretty good mixed drink. The blueberry mojito I had was refreshing, and deliciously tart. My lunch buddy got the kingpin beer, which he liked and found to be a solid, but average, amber ale. We had pretty good service here, and the space has a great atmosphere. If it hadn’t been so hot out, we would have sat outside, but the inside is very nice as well.
We ordered the tuna melt and the Steel pizza, both of which were quite satisfying. The rye bread was piled high with creamy, dill-​y tuna, topped with yummy melted cheese – it was everything I want from a tuna melt sandwich. I also appreciated the side of salad, which was nice and fresh but definitely under-​dressed. The pizza was pretty hefty, well-​topped, and overall delicious.
While it wasn’t perfect, I’d definitely come back to try more of their offerings.

Ate here with a private wedding event. Food was very good. I highly recommend the crab cakes with sriracha aioli and the cheese ravioli. Also enjoyed excellent roasted vegetables. Beer was very good, but hops-​forward flavors really dominated the tap list.
The private event space was very spacious, includes its own bar.

Went here for a quick lunch with some work colleague and had some lunch. It was okay. It is a brewpub close to one of the buildings we are building in the Pearl. There is an indoor and outdoor seating area. On a good day I am sure it is good to sit outside and enjoy some beers. We did not go here for beers as it was mid-​day at work. So we could not drink. I am wondering how the beer tastes here. They do sell flights of beers and it looked good.
I had a pulled pork sandwich that was suppose to be spicy and it was not spicy. Oh well. It was good overall, but not the best I have had. The beans were pretty good and the mac and cheese was great. I think it would be a four star if I had the beer experience. Maybe I will go back and try it out. Overall the service was just okay too. Had to wait for water for 5 mins or so and they did not check back often to see if we needed anything. Had to wait for the check too. Actually had to track someone down and ask them to bring it to me. Service needs a little help.

Made it once again to Oregon’s oldest operational microbrewery!!! Originally a rope factory back in 1895, Bridgeport remodeled and reopened in late 2007?
The Kingpin is doubly creamy, doubly red, and a meal in itself! Came for HH and made it here in no time after going in the Columbia Gorge for the afternoon.
Not bad timing at all, especially since the plop over the river on Broadway Br is so convenient.
imbibed two different beers and noshed on a few beer cheese fries before heading out. Such delicious, satisfying beer!!!

As Oregon’s first craft brewery, Bridgeport definitely encompasses Portland’s craft beer culture… which isn’t surprising considering they started it.
Their local craft beers are awesome, and it’s hard to choose a favorite. I’d say it’s a tie between Hop Czar and Conviction Pale Ale. And aside from beers, Bridgeport has a really great staff, and an amazing selection of great food. From pizzas to vegan quinoa bowls, Portlanders and tourists alike are sure to find something on the menu. The place is huge too, so you never have to wait too long to get a table.
If you’re visiting Portland, this is definitely a brewery worth checking out.

This was our favorite stop on our brewery crawl of Portland. The place was slammed around noon on Saturday, but we sat upstairs where it was a lot quieter.
My absolute favorite beer of the whole weekend: the Smoked Lager. I’ve never had a smoked beer before, but I LOVED this one. Smokey, dark in color, but light in taste. I was a big fan. Would pair awesomely with some salmon!
We had a sampler, so we got the chance to try most of the beers on tap and there wasn’t anything we didn’t like. We also got an order of the pretzels and they were stellarrr. They paired well with the mustard and they were also served a phenomenal cheese dip. This will be my first stop when I’m back in Portland!
